Chamunda Devi also known as Sachchi Mata, Chamundi, Chamundeshwari, and Charchika, is a fearsome aspect of Devi, the Hindu Divine Mother and one of the seven Matrikas (mother goddesses). She is also one of the chief Yoginis, a group of sixty-four or eighty-one Tantric goddesses, who are attendants of the warrior goddess Durga. The name is a combination of Chanda and Munda, two monsters whom Chamunda killed. She is closely associated with Kali, another fierce aspect of Devi.She is sometimes identified with goddesses Parvati, Chandi or Durga as well.

ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे - महामंत्र का अर्थ
इस मन्त्र को नवार्ण मंत्र भी कहा जाता है जो देवी भक्तों में सबसे प्रशस्त मंत्र माना गया है। इस मन्त्र के जाप से महासरस्वती, महाकाली तथा महालक्ष्मी माता की कृपा तथा आशीर्वाद प्राप्त होता है।
समस्त जगत परब्रह्म की शक्ति है तथा वस्तुतः ब्रह्म की सत् शक्ति के आधार पर भौतिक सृष्टि की प्रतीति हो रही है, चित्त में चेतन जगत् की प्रतीति, आनंद से जगत् में प्रियता की प्रतीति है। इस प्रकार जगत् सत्, चित्, आनंद रूप ही है, भ्रम से अन्य प्रतीत होता है।
ॐ - उस परब्रह्म का सूचक है जिससे यह समस्त जगत व्याप्त हो रहा है।
ऐं - यह वाणी, ऐश्वर्य, बुद्धि तथा ज्ञान प्रदात्री माता सरस्वती का बीज मन्त्र है। इस बीज मन्त्र का जापक विद्वान हो जाता है। यह वाक् बीज है, वाणी का देवता अग्नि है, सूर्य भी तेज रूप अग्नि ही है, सूर्य से ही दृष्टि मिलती है; दृष्टि सत्य की पीठ है, यही सत्य परब्रह्म है।
ह्रीं - यह ऐश्वर्य, धन ,माया प्रदान करने वाली माता महालक्ष्मी का बीज मंत्र है। इसका उदय आकाश से है । पीठ विशुद्ध में, आयतन सहस्रार में, किन्तु श्रीं का उदय आकाश में होने पर भी आयतन आज्ञाचक्र में है।
क्लीं- यह शत्रुनाशक, दुर्गति नाशिनी महाकाली का बीज मन्त्र है। इस बीज में पृथ्वी तत्व की प्रधानता सहित वायु तत्व है जोकि प्राणों का आधार है।
चामुण्डायै - प्रवर्ति का अर्थ चण्ड तथा निर्वृति का अर्थ मुण्ड है। यह दोनों भाई काम और क्रोध के रूप भी माने गए हैं। इनकी संहारक शक्ति का नाम ही चामुण्डा है। जो स्वयं प्रकाशमान है।
विच्चे - विच्चे का अर्थ समर्पण या नमस्कार है।
अत: सम्पूर्ण मन्त्र का अर्थ है -
संसार के आधार परब्रह्म, ज्ञान की अधिष्ठात्री देवी सरस्वती, सम्पूर्ण संकल्पों की अधिष्ठात्री देवी महामक्ष्मी, सम्पूर्ण कर्मों की स्वामिनी महाकाली तथा काम और क्रोध का विनाश करनी वाली सच्चिदानंद अभिन्नरूपा चामुण्डा को नमस्कार है, पूर्ण समर्पण है।
तीनो बीज परमात्मा के वाचक हैं। अभी आकृतियां सत्व तत्व में काली रूप , सभी प्रतीतियां चित्त तत्व में महालक्ष्मी रूप तथा सभी प्रीतियाँ आनंद तत्व में महासरस्वती रूप में ही विवर्त हैं
सत, चित्त आनंद स्वरुप माता आप तथा आपके परिवार पर सदैव कृपादृष्टि बनाये रखे ।
