One time I asked the DT manager where a product was, since it was empty on the shelf. He pointed to the back room, which I could see through the open door had a ginormous amount of unopened boxes piled up to the ceiling. He said "It's in there somewhere, but we don't have time to find it." I almost offered to try to find it but I saw it was a lost cause.

As an SM for that Co before the increase charges of $5 + Facts is... I was four weeks cashier, promo to Merch for eight months before SM. I was at max 50-100 hrs. Do not sign your name!! They will not pay you sm value. They fired me,I quit. Because I hired homeless people. My district manager was like that. I hired scrubs. I hired people with epilepsy and disability and law officers too. She hated I smoked weed tho.. sorry jack. When the freezer went out and the company told me to throw $3000 in the dumpster. I was like... FU nope! Bet I gave all back. I quit before she fired me after writing me up. 🙄🤣🤣🤣

I clean houses and there is times yes you do clean things with bare hands because you don't want a plastic or rubber glove getting stuck on something just need to remember not pick your nose or scratch your head until you are done and wash your hands like no tomorrow unless something is absolutely nasty yuck then yes wear gloves

You can! Walk or drive down your street or a senior citizen complex & see if there are any people who need some yard work done or another chore. Rather than helping clean up a corporate store that was only inserted in this country to help destroy it.
If you’re there for 8.5 hrs and the place is pretty much empty, they’re not needing the help, they’re just holding out for closing time so they can go home because they don’t care about their job. Idk there's a dollar tree right by my house that looks the same but always has older people working there. It gets robbed all the time so no parent allows their kid to work there when there's much safer options.

Those boxes may need to be accounted for when unloaded, tagged for prices, or maybe they were moving their items around and needed it to go somewhere else. Sometimes what seems to be “helping” isn’t really actually helpful.
They absolutely noticed her, and when they figured out what she was doing, they ignored her. That's probably the most stock work that has been done in a single day in months...if not years.

I love that! Years ago, I read a story about these gals that had retired, and they found their purpose. Every time they went into a store, they would notice how things were so disarray because people would just pick things up decide not to buy them, and just toss them aside or drop them on the floor or what have you. so they would spend several hours a week going to different stores that they usually went to, and they would fold clothes and hang them up and put things back on shelves. I thank you for doing this! I have to say, every time I go into store after having read that story, I pick things up and fold them as I go about my shopping! Good for you!

If you did, you kept your job, and got paid what you agreed to at your hiring. If you went up & beyond your duties, you could get a promotion & with that, a salary increase. I love this! I go to stores (as I did yesterday) just to look around because I was bored and then I started straightening the tennis shoes, then on to the housewares department, then to the bed and bath department and then put some ladies shirts back on the rack they belonged to, etc. So much fun. Plus it helps out the employees because everyone is so short handed. Oh, yeah, and folded up the jeans and put them back in order like they were supposed to be because some LAZY SHOPPER just practically threw them back on the shelf unfolded. 😠🤦🏻♀️ I used to do this at my favorite store, Steinmart, until they all closed. 😢

Working for dollar tree was fun and interesting and super easy. Boxes come in and you just stock the isles, the cool thing about it is you never know what’s coming in for that season so it’s always a surprise when you get the new items that don’t have a home on the isles yet. All overstock gets thrown away at the end also so it’s a good place for dumpster diving.

You should do a series where you specifically work at dollar trees. Most of their stores are severely understaffed and could easily be improved by your work.

My 2 local Dollar Trees are get, they hardly ever have boxes in the aisles. The Dollar General stores are totally different, they have way too many notes and bins in the aisles, store is messy, it's sometimes hard to find a cashier to check you out, they sometimes in the back helping unload a truck or in the aisles stocking shelves or pulling stuff to put in bins. I stand up front ringing the bell, then go hunt an employee down. Dollar General hardly ever have the same employees.
I have seen several of your videos like this to where you try to work for free. I truly see your heart in wanting to help....BUT....do you not realize how much trouble you can get these companies in. If OSHA finds out you are working for free and not even employed there....OSHA plus other companies can not only fine the companies a bunch of unnecessary money...like thousands of dollars...BUT you can also get innocent managers fired for this. I don't think it's worth it for a video or just genuinely trying to help. I mean it....just one second of working off the clock gets them into so much trouble. 😢

They aren’t making her do anything. She chooses to do this of her own volition, and she is not doing anything employee-sensitive. Everyone does this to some extent: putting items back where they go or tidying up. She just does it a little more. No one is getting into trouble over this. 😂
@miastrong151 she isn't just picking up things from the ground and putting it where it belongs. I teach my kids to do that. What she is doing is working off the "clock," which violates state and federal laws, and she can absolutely get every business she helps in trouble. Plus, say she by accident gets hurt. That business has to report EVERYTHING, and there will be an investigation, and yes, people jobs will be in jeopardy. I worked for a retail place for over 20 years, and trust me ....they made sure EVERYONE knew what the policies were and what could get them in trouble. If an employee can get the company in so much trouble for working one second off the clock, imagine what she can do. I appreciate her heart in what she is doing......but if she truly cares... she wouldn't put peoples jobs in jeopardy over a video.

I love that! Years ago, I read a story about these gals that had retired, and they found their purpose. Every time they went into a store, they would notice how things were so disarray because people would just pick things up decide not to buy them, and just toss them aside or drop them on the floor or what have you. so they would spend several hours a week going to different stores that they usually went to, and they would fold clothes and hang them up and put things back on shelves.
I thank you for doing this! I have to say, every time I go into store after having read that story, I pick things up and fold them as I go about my shopping! Good for you!

She’s what’s known as an, old soul. She’s only doing what we used to do, back in my day. We were hired to follow our training for the job. If you did, you kept your job, and got paid what you agreed to at your hiring. If you went up & beyond your duties, you could get a promotion & with that, a salary increase. I miss the old days & people who cared more about a person’s character, than what race they were. 😢🙏❤️🇺🇸

I love this! I go to stores (as I did yesterday) just to look around because I was bored and then I started straightening the tennis shoes, then on to the housewares department, then to the bed and bath department and then put some ladies shirts back on the rack they belonged to, etc. So much fun. Plus it helps out the employees because everyone is so short handed. Oh, yeah, and folded up the jeans and put them back in order like they were supposed to be because some LAZY SHOPPER just practically threw them back on the shelf unfolded. 😠🤦🏻♀️ I used to do this at my favorite store, Steinmart, until they all closed. 😢

Working for dollar tree was fun and interesting and super easy. Boxes come in and you just stock the isles, the cool thing about it is you never know what’s coming in for that season so it’s always a surprise when you get the new items that don’t have a home on the isles yet. All overstock gets thrown away at the end also so it’s a good place for dumpster diving.

My 2 local Dollar Trees are get, they hardly ever have boxes in the aisles. The Dollar General stores are totally different, they have way too many notes and bins in the aisles, store is messy, it's sometimes hard to find a cashier to check you out, they sometimes in the back helping unload a truck or in the aisles stocking shelves or pulling stuff to put in bins. I stand up front ringing the bell, then go hunt an employee down. Dollar General hardly ever have the same employees.

I have seen several of your videos like this to where you try to work for free. I truly see your heart in wanting to help....BUT....do you not realize how much trouble you can get these companies in. If OSHA finds out you are working for free and not even employed there....OSHA plus other companies can not only fine the companies a bunch of unnecessary money...like thousands of dollars...BUT you can also get innocent managers fired for this. I don't think it's worth it for a video or just genuinely trying to help.

They aren’t making her do anything. She chooses to do this of her own volition, and she is not doing anything employee-sensitive. Everyone does this to some extent: putting items back where they go or tidying up. She just does it a little more. No one is getting into trouble over this. 😂
@miastrong151 she isn't just picking up things from the ground and putting it where it belongs. I teach my kids to do that.
What she is doing is working off the "clock," which violates state and federal laws, and she can absolutely get every business she helps in trouble. Plus, say she by accident gets hurt. That business has to report EVERYTHING, and there will be an investigation, and yes, people jobs will be in jeopardy. I worked for a retail place for over 20 years, and trust me ....they made sure EVERYONE knew what the policies were and what could get them in trouble. If an employee can get the company in so much trouble for working one second off the clock, imagine what she can do.
I appreciate her heart in what she is doing......but if she truly cares... she wouldn't put peoples jobs in jeopardy over a video.
