Ok. It's been over 15 years. You can watch Rose Tyler say goodbye to The Doctor without breaking down. You are a strong man! you can do it! Twenty seconds into the scene, between tears: "WHY COULDN'T THEY JUST BE HAPPY! WHY IS THE UNIVERSE SO UNFAIR!"
The living universe from series 11 is such an interesting concept. 13 may have had the bumpiest era since Capaldi's first season with Kill and Moon and Forest of the Night, but her era did have some fascinating concepts and a few gems.
I hate the idea of multiple universes. It makes everything that happens seem so pointless, especially with the concept that each of those universes is some sort of parallel variation on this one, with a Ricky not a Micky for example. The universe we know is so unbelievably vast and full of endless possibilities. Why complicate and dilute the meaning of it by going beyond, when weve seen hardly any of it imagined on screen? I'm fine with "bubble universes" or other planes of existence, but parallels are nearly as bad a concept as aliens with the heads of Earth animals.
People bash It Takes You Away for the talking frog but I kind of like it. It’s like something that would be in a Terry Pratchet or a Douglas Adams novel.
First time I saw that Frog all I could think was: It's time to play the music It's time to light the lights It's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight This was disappointing for me. You went from this mystery of a blind girl in a boarded up cabin with monstrous sounds coming from the forest, to The Doctor talking to a frog.

David Warner, Peter Cushing, Richard E Grant, David Collings, Michael Jayston, Toby Jones, Geoffrey Bayldon, Arabella Weir, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant, Joanna Lumley, Nicholas Briggs, Colin Baker
He didn't want to go, and now he's back. But he probably won't get Rose back this time, either. The 13th Doctor kisses a toad, almost. Suranne Jones give a great performance as the living Tardis. And The 13th's 'mum' isn't happy she's back again. Oh, well.

Oh look no classic who, what a surprise, it's not like it did the whole parallel universe thing first, inferno, the E-space arc, the anti matter universe, merlin's universe... Also if people like parallel worlds in doctor who I'd recommend the unbound big finish audios, it's doctor who what ifs (what if the doctor never left galifrey, what if the 3rd doctor arrived 20 years later, what if the valeyard won, what if the doctor's morality was the ends justifies the means, what if the show was never made, etc) and they're really good (except exile, still worth a listen but it isn't great). Plus you can get the original 8 for like £20. Plus it does have Tennant in there, so as it seems the show or fandom can't move on from him you can get even more him in those audios.
I really want to like Flux, but it kept stacking numerous plot points and almost seemingly random characters on top of each other every episode. That, combined with Dan's thick accent made me feel like a fly on the wall. Though I really liked the angel village episode and the characters in that.
I really wish Flux could have been a whole season so we could get some more time with Tectaeun, the chemistry that actor had with Jodie was so magnetic for the brief scenes we had. Could have made that arc so much better with more time
Yeah. Also the Doctor being a Weeping Angel. I do understand why they wrapped that up in the beginning of 'Survivors' and it does make sense...but it would have been darkly interesting to have her be an Angel for at least a whole episode. Also, it's perfect for her incarnation specifically (and maybe the Doctor as a whole). Whenever she's observed she is all bubbly and cheerful, yet she 'freezes' when she's alone. Weeping Angels are the opposite. If anyone has seen any fanfics that cover this kind of thing, then do share as I'd love to check them out. You've probably left out Inferno from the third Doctor era, because you don't know about it or the episodes may have been lost? Anyway the parallel universe is shown in black and white, to distinguish it from the universe the Doctor came from, when the console of the TARDIS takes him sideways in time.
@@DrWhoFanJ Only the other universe bits were in black and white, when originally broadcast, but they may have been colourised since, in the same manner as they did with Day Of The Daemons.
@@julianaylor4351 Nope. It was only B&W on B&W sets, but that would still be the entire story rather than only portions of it. The show has only just started having colour in the show at all; they wouldn’t regress to B&W that rapidly! (You might be confusing some of the “behind the mirrors” scenes from _Warriors’ Gate_ (1981).)
@@DrWhoFanJ Well it's not what I remembered, I do there were colour stills of the parallel universe bit, but other people the same sort of age as me, agree with my comments, so it that portion of the story must have been colourised later. I was watching it on a colour television, rented by my family, in the seventies. The colourisers must have assumed that the original colour footage was lost, due to the colour publicity stills, but it wasn't originally, meant to be in colour on purpose, to make it more scary, because the parallel universe was fascist.
