- Michelle Joy Phelps caught up with WBC, WBO, IBF Light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev who is in London kicking off his press conference with Anthony Yarde which is scheduled for January 28th from the OVO arena in Wembley LIVE on ESPN + in America and BT Sports in UK.
Beterbiev admits he doesn't watch boxing, doesn't follow the world cup but surprisingly names another hobby as his "fave sport", his undisputed goal and responds when asked to rate Dmitry Bivol's last performance against Zurdo Ramirez.

If a washed up Kovalev KO Yarde with a jab. I don’t think he will last more than Smith did against this dude. There are levels.
Kovalev WASNT washed up when he fought Yarde. He had a full training camp and was still dangerous. Canelo fought a Kovalev that had an extremely short training camp. He also didn’t have time to recover from the Yarde fight. It was a gruelling fight where he was almost knockout. Kovalev was not 100% everyone knew this. Canelo fought him because of that. Kovalev accepted the fact just for the money. He said multiple times before and after the fight that he wasn’t 100% but couldn’t pass on the money. Canelo has always fought someone with all kinds of advantages. Canelo also put a rehydration clause on Kovalev. Kovalev was basically a corpse entering the fight. The funny thing is he was outboxing Canelo and winning the fight with only extremely weak basic jab and right hand. A weak Kovalev was winning against Canelo even if Canelo had all those advantages. Canelo is just an opportunist. He knew what he was doing when trying to fight Kovalev. He even tried to fight Kovalev before Yarde but Kovalev said no because he was already in preparation to fight Yarde. Canelo was struggling to found a weak opponent and didn’t want to face his mandatory which was Charlo or fight decent opponents so he was willing to do anything to try and fight Kovalev. CANELO BEEN DOING THOSE BUSINESS TACTICS. If you want to tell a story tell the full story please ;). Yarde is good but lost to a more healthy Kovalev WHO HAD A FULL TRAINING CAMP NOT SOMEONE ON SHORT NOTICE AND HE had came back from his loss to Eleider Alvarez.

What you need to remember is Beterbiev is way older than Kovalev is when Kovalev fought Yarde, and it’s in Yarde’s backyard. With England being the most corrupt boxing nation in the world.
Kovalev was way past his best when he fought Yarde. His power and chin had diminished a lot by that time. Prime Kovalev dropped every opponent he fought from like 2011 to 2016, a run of like 20 fights, and he stopped all but 2 of them, whereas, he had only dropped one of his opponent in his last five fights prior to facing Yarde and had been stopped twice.
That being said, the Yarde stoppage was more due to exhaustion than Yarde's chin. Prime Kovalev would've sparked Yarde within 3 or 4 rounds max

Just because Bivol won against Canelo doesn’t mean that Bivol is the number 1 at 175. People just jumped on the bandwagon and claimed someone is the best too fast. Bivol is very good don’t get me wrong but Beterbiev is good also. They need to fight to see who is the best. Beterbiev would have destroyed Canelo, let’s be honest here. Until proven otherwise, Beterbiev is the one with the most belts in the division and THE NUMBER ONE IN THE DIVISION AT THE MOMENT.
