Thank you for posting this. I literally just purchased a pre-loved “Tiffany & Co Heart” Tag necklace from a well known website when I saw your video. As soon as I watched it I realised the necklace was a fake! I contacted the seller [who had just posted it and sent confirmation] and explained that Tiffany don’t make chains with gaps in the individual links but she said it was purchased 10 years ago in a Tiffany store and that’s how they made their chains back then😮 She then told me when it arrives to take it to a Tiffany Store to get it authenticated. I’m so annoyed with myself. The good news is I did purchase a beautiful Tiffany bracelet a few days earlier from the same website and using your method of authentication and others I’m happy to say that the bracelet is indeed REAL….phew!! I will be returning the fake necklace as soon as it arrives for a full refund. Many thanks again xx

When you're particular about buying Tiffany you need to go to the store

Right!! There's no way to know otherwise. People can show you anything and then when it arrives there's disappointment.

Desperately trying to get a second opinion on my toggle necklace. I have one day to return and not close a Tiffany at all. I Can Pay for a service or even a second opinion. If you can help I’d appreciate so much

@@rosey1292 the ag is the element for silver. The newer tiffany pieces are marked with ag925 instead of just 925

The ONLY way to assure you will NOT get stuck with a fake is to buy from the Tiffany store or their actual website. I never buy Tiffany pieces from used sites. EVER. I cringe at the thought. I am a single hard-working mom and I don’t have a lot of money. But I save up when I want to shop Tiffany. My collection is small but I know beyond a shadow of any doubt whatsoever that they are real. Otherwise, what’s the point? I believe that eBay, posh, Mercari, and such sites should not be able to list Tiffany items whatsoever because of the scammers who have nothing better to do than to steal from people, which is basically all they are...thieves. Please do not purchase such items from those sites. 9 times out of 10, they are FAKE.

I think if you learn what to look for then you should be able to buy second hand, or what are people supposed to do when they don't want their items any more? My heart tag toggle necklace is real which I bought second hand. I do agree with you that fakes are a massive problem.

If you do hard research before purchasing a tiffany piece so you can correctly identify that it is real then there isn't a problem with buying used tiffany jewelry from someone. Also, if the piece is 100% Authentic then the person selling the piece shouldn't have any problems answering any questions a potential buyer will have, as in they should answer any and all questions without hesitation, being short, rude etc. Some sellers will even provide receipts as well. So, everyone, do hard research, learn what tiffany jewelry is supposed to look like and even weigh, inspect thoroughly before purchasing used. Not everyone out there can afford to go buy brand new from the store and that's ok! Why should it matter where u purchase something if it is Authentic anyways especially when some ppl sell things that they have only worn a few times lol. There is NOTHING at all wrong buying 2nd hand, just make sure you know exactly what ur looking at, weight, the links should be smoothly soldered and not have breaks in them, the clasp etc, study, study study!!! Now, way older tiffany jewelry will not always be marked the way newer tiffany jewelry is marked so that's another thing to pay attention to. I have several pieces from my grandmother that are 30 and 40 yrs old and yes the links are all smoothly soldered but there are some that show some of a line where they are older, were wrong a lot and the silver wears down, yes the silver does wear down. So just study and be mindful of what ur purchasing, ask questions, get answers on the 2nd hand jewelry. It doesn't make u less of a person to buy 100% Authentic 2nd hand so don't ever feel bad for doing so!

I say you’re taking a chance of being dooped the cheaper it gets. If it’s too good to be true,it probably is.
