Cinque Terre is great especially if you are on a budget or only had 1 day or a 2-day itinerary. We stayed in La Spezia but visited monterosso al mare, Vernazza, corniglia, manarola, riomaggiore and more. We swam and cliff jumped in Italy, ate pizza, took the train, experienced the tourism that occurs in this region in may during the shoulder season, and it was busy but cannot recommend it enough, it is such a cool spot, but be prepared... it will be busy!

Jackson,
I enjoy your high energy and fun reporting. You’re quite the entertainer. Great information! Thanks!
Oh my goodness, that means so much , I really appreciate it - I just read your comment to my wife, haha she liked it :)
I certainly try to be, I'm learning and having fun along the way, thanks for watching!
Such a beautiful place! Thanks for the best content!
Glad you enjoy it, I really appreciate the comment and support! Italy truly is a magical place... Can't wait to go back!
Great content! Planning a trip here in the near future, thanks for all the great tips!
I am jealous!!! Have so much fun in the Italian Riviera, and I’m glad that this video was helpful to you - in all honesty, the CT is beautiful and I’d love to hear about the amount of tourists are there when you visit. I have a Tuscany video coming next week too 🤙🏼🇮🇹
Really helpful and honest, thanks a bunch!
You’re welcome ❤️ - I appreciate it, have fun on your next trip!!
Great 👍...must visit!
Stay the night, Take the walking trail between Corniglia - Vernazza. Breath taking!
It is worth it, just don't rush through it, its not an amusement park.. Its like most of Europe, its not there for your amusement.. embrace the scenery, the people, the food and just observe in silence and you will have a great experience!
It's a great call-out, I wish we could have budgeted more time to do the trails (although many of them were closed for restoration). It's impossible to see everything in a day, or 2 days or even 3 days, but slowing down is good advice for all.
Very helpful video, thank you
Thank you! Glad you found it useful, have a great trip! 🇮🇹
Great video, Thks for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤
You are very welcome, glad you liked it!
wow 🤩 love your video 💕
Thank you so much, it was a blast to make and I can’t wait to get back to Europe and film some more: SO BEAUTIFUL! ❤️
Excelente video 🐾🐾
Thanks! I appreciate it, Cinque Terre is gorgeous, enjoy!
Awesome video. Thank you both for the positive energy you inspired. I have a question regarding the amazing quality of your video. What type of camera and lens were you using while shooting the footage of the island where you zoom in and out? Just Beautiful!!!❤
Oh my goodness, thank you! See, I see all the imperfections in my videos, but I’m glad you liked the footage. I was using a Sony a6500 and a 18-35mm stock lens I think. I used a go pro as well. If you watch a new video of mine like my waterfalls in Orwgon video… a lot of that is on my newer camera a a7siii with an gmaster 18-35mm
Im heading to Liguria in August for business and will only have a day or two to play, thanks so much for this itinerary!
Ayyyyyy have so much fun! I would check to see if the hiking trails are open, might be worth it to hike between a few towns. Ciao! 🇮🇹
Jackson dude you are absolutely killing it, your last few videos are just amazing. Are you editing them?
Jo! I really appreciate it, so are you - I need to watch your newest video… in all honesty, watching you makes me inspired but also jealous of your skills and your presence. Well done! I am a one man show over here :) occasionally my wife helps hold the camera haha. How are things?
@@JacksonMeyer you’re energy is off the charts so happy for you my friend. I wish I could make videos quicker. Seriously love the energy of the editing , well done!!! I’ll keep watching for sure.
Molto bello !
Grazie Mille!
Going there soon!
Heck ya! Have a freaking blast, I think Manarola is the spot, but monterosso Al mare has new town and old town that is super cool, happy travels my friend!
Great video Jackson! Appreciate your content. Will be tuning in for more! We'll be going to Cinque Terre in a couple of weeks. Would you go back to eat at Nessun Dorma or do you think the best part is just the view that comes with it?
Hey thanks Max, and I really appreciate you subscribing, that is just epic - It gives me so much more motivation to keep making videos! Have so much fun in the Italian riviera, Im excited to go back and explore some of the other towns outside Cinque Terre, I hear there are some hidden gems. I probably would go back to Nessun Dorma, I feel like the food and drink wasn’t too expensive and the view is just the best of the day, and we had 6 people so the wait was a bit longer, if you are a couple or 3/4 people it probably will be a shorter wait. Thanks again for your kind words, chat soon 🤙🏼
@@JacksonMeyer Thanks for the recs! That's good to know. And for sure! Keep grinding, looking forward to your Tuscany video!
I'm visiting in 3 weeks, the days would be shorter but would do it in a day still! Fingers crossed.
Manolo, Vernazza & Riomaggiore on the cards!
Thanks for the guidance!
It is going to feel rushed doing all 5 in a day, maybe 2 days is the way to go. Hopefully there are fewer people for you, get out to the towns early so you can have some peace before all the crowds! Have fun! 🍷 🇮🇹
So basically one day is not enough since you haven't actually seen all of them.
You missed the essence of Corniglia and you have seen only the waterfront of the "new town" of monterosso.
The actual town of Monterosso (the old town) is located at the other side od the tunnel towards vernazza.
Still very nice video of a full day in cinque terre.
We did the same in 3 days and i think that we have experienced everything that the place has to offer by taking it easy and with no rushing and train hopping.
Correct - we missed old town Monterosso, and pretty much the whole strip/view point of Corniglia (lame!). I think when we come back we will pick 3 towns and spend a little longer in each of those (manarola, Corgnilia & monterosso). Thankyou very much for your comment, the constructive additions and the compliment - you don’t see much of that anymore! Appreciate it 🤙🏽
Levanto worth seeing
New friend here 😍watching your amazing and beautiful video first time now thank you have a good day 👍🔔
Ayyyy thank you so much!!! Nice to e-meet you! Are you visiting the Cinque Terre soon, and was the video helpful?
@@JacksonMeyer Yes, sure.
Quite the endorsement of the limoncello! Lol! I’ll probably make the very same face!
Haha seriously though… it can be gnarly - but you have to do it if it’s complimentary or offered 😜
Hi, great video. Will be going in the summer. While in Italy was there a particular train line that you used and did you get your tickets in advance for traveling ? Also if i just do Vernazza,Manatola and Riomaggiore is it worth staying in La Spezia?
omg I'm jealous, I absolutely LOVE Italy. Here's what I'll say, Summer is hectic in Cinque Terre, I'd spend 2-3 days maximum and plan on a day trip north of cinque terre into lesser known villages that have fewer crowds. We stayed in La Spezia just a 10 minute walk to the train station. Its the "Levanto - La Spezia" line and we bought tickets when we arrived. Get on the train from La Spezia that is headed to Levanto and it will stop at every town, and I would start the day at the farthest north village as it will be the quietest and then move south as the day happens. Manarola is my fave. Have an amazing time!
@JacksonMeyer thank you so much. Did you also visit Venice? Were doing a 10 day trip
Gre8 video
Thank you very much! It was so much fun to make and I’m glad you enjoyed it 😜
@@JacksonMeyer doing my 1st solo in november n cinque terre will be my 1st stop. Enjoyed watching you guys
Do you recommend some specific water shoes or sneakers for the rocky beaches?
Nope, just regular flip flops / sandals and you’ll be fine. It wasn’t like coral or anything, honestly barefoot would even work in most places
Best video
Thank you so much! 🙏 this is one of my favorites as well
@@JacksonMeyer I meant the best video of all the one talking about cinq terre ! 💪💪
I appreciate the compliment!
Hi jackson! May i ask is there any public toilet near the sea? I was wondering where can I get change after had swim 😂😂
Hi there! So we actually couldn’t find any public restrooms on our Cinque Terre trip. there were some in the train stations, but not right by the ocean. We ended up changed with someone holding a towel up, and the Europeans don’t care, they’ll change wherever. We ended up using the restrooms at the lunch restaurant we ate at.
@@JacksonMeyer thank u for the very formative information!
Also, should I book the tickets to and from Cinque Terre the morning of or in advance?
You can just buy them the morning of, and catch that first Train all the way to the last stop and make your way back ☺️ have fun!
Are there any train passes I want to spend a week in Liguria but read very bizarre thing like things I cannot buy Ganoa - La spezia weekly pass and use I to get off on intermediate stops. I don’t understand it completely
as far as I know there is a daily train pass for liguria - La Spezia. I am unsure about other ones. Thanks for the comment!
@@JacksonMeyer yes it seems this is the only options those passes 1-3day. They make sense if you also use footpaths or the other option is to just buy single tickets
I need to know 286 staris for why?? To reach the town centre? Or to reach the beach from the parking area of the beach ? I mean is it easy accessible to reach the beach without stairs or crossing hill / mountains.???
Hey! To reach Corniglia from the bus stop, although there are more steps from bus stop to the beginning for the stairs. Corniglia does not have beach access really, the town is in the hill
I asked about monterosso al mare
@JacksonMeyer
I asked about monterosso beach .please inform me about the stairs,,,is there lots of stairs to reach the beach from the parking ??
What do you thing about to sleep in Riomaggiore and go to Pisa for the next day?
Thanks for asking! I think if you were to spend the night I’d do Manarola :) but you are lucky to even be visiting!! It’s a great place and Pisa is nice as well, but I didn’t explore much other than the leaning tower which was a bit of a tourist trap…
I am in Riamoggiore now and it SUCKS. Spend your time and money in Pisa and day trip to Lucca. Cinque Terre is over rated, over priced, and over visited...trains are packed and everything is up hill.
I saw you in Seaside today! Is it boring just standing there like a statue?
Ayyy thanks for commenting! Nope - it’s fun people watching, and taking pictures… but I won’t lie, it can be boring at times 😜
@@JacksonMeyer Thanks for responding, I was the guy in the hard rock cafe hoodie if you remember things like that
@@Lyxtra Igot you - I remember you, I appreciate you reaching out! Have an epic day and I hope you like my videos 😜
@@JacksonMeyer you're welcome, I really enjoy your videos
Or Go to Levanto, West of Monterosso
Good call, yeah I wish we would have had time, Levanto looks very cool!
I don't understand why all these American tourists go there for one day but then spend weeks in big concrete cities. Stay in cinque terre for at least a week and take your time, it's a beautiful unique experience to explore the towns without rush and connect with locals, go swimming, hiking, make some pesto, so much you can do
Hey there, thanks for watching the video and commenting, I'll let you in on my thoughts, most people... especially 'American tourists' don't have much time off, I get 2 weeks per year and so that forces many of us to speed through experiences to see and do the most in that short amount of time. Cinque Terre certainly isn't a place most people are going to want to spend 2 weeks here when you can also do Tuscany, Como, Garda, Dolomites, etc within driving distance. I made this video because all I had was a short stop here and wanted to share my thoughts on if you can do it all in a day. Would I like to spend more time here? Sure.... but in the shoulder season and for just a few more days
Yeah i get it, I guess it's different for me, I live in south of Netherlands right next to Belgium and I just like to hop in my car and do road trips all over Europe, I understand if you have to fly in from America it's different, I just get in my car and drive somewhere for a week or two but, I'm just saying, that whole region in the Italian riviera is stunning, you can drive to bordighera, levante, or laghetti rocchetta nervina, which is probably the most beautiful place I've ever seen with natural rock pools. Or I drive to the dolomites and go village hopping from ortisei to chiusa and so on. I don't make videos but when I see American tourists rush through it, it's kind of strange but I get it yes, I work for myself so I have a lot of time but I'm glad U enjoy europe
@@JacksonMeyeralso, I just don't like the American fast pace through everything, fast-food, rushing through everything, I'm a person that really loves to take my time while traveling or with cooking, I've been in America once and I really disliked how everyone just wants instant gratification and doesn't want to struggle a bit for better results, it's just a personal thing I guess. Sometimes I just don't pack anything, just grab 2 shirts 2 pants some underwear and socks and some camping gear and drive to lauterbrunnen to go camp for a weekend, the only money I'm really spending is the fuel for my car, buy some local cheese and sausage and walk through villages and nature of Switzerland, camp for 2 days, relax and drive back home
@@Oobe- you’re painting us all w a very broad brush, especially as you’ve only been here once. Come and stay a while.
I am doing this but there is no train passes and 4 min train cost 10 euros 😮 cities are cheaper
*So*
*Many*
*Stairs*
This day we climbed 74 flights of stairs… I believe that was the count. Thanks for all your comments, They are appreciatd and I hope you like my future viddies!
lol you don't sun bathe and swim in lake Como like in the Mediterranean... :) to each his own... :)
Haha - Lake Garda is absolutely a place to catch rays, boat, windsurf and have fun… Im trying to keep the vibe going in this neighbor lake 😜
@@JacksonMeyer you can have the lake, the rest of us can have the Vitamin Sea ;)
ummm you didn't go to old townnn
You are correct... I freaking missed it, we were obviously on a schedule, I mean we peaked around the corner, and that was about it.. But wait a second, out of that whole video... that was your comment/feedback?
@@JacksonMeyer well a lot of ppl love Monterosso; honestly you're the first person that I heard/saw that commented about visiting Cinque Terre for a day... but like most you stayed at La Spezia... we have visited and stayed at Monterosso several times...
Been trying to convince myself to go to this part of Italy.. have watched many many videos but still not convinced as firstly, the place needs a few transfer from where we are intending to go plus the places seems underwhelming and overrated. The beaches are not that great compared to what we have (no offence to anyone, just my personal view). Will skip this part of Italy and spend it in Tuscany.
Great comment, I pretty much agree exactly with the sentiment… what I will say is that it is worth going to at least once! Italy is so beautiful it about weighing a bunch of different options… Tuscany you could spend months in and around and have a ton of fun, Cinque Terre is 2-3 days maximum for me.
I am in Cinque Terre right now. I wish I never came. Over crowded, over priced, over rated, rude people, and everything is a climb
Yup - that can certainly be the case - it can get very crowded and honestly it does need to be seen at least once, but only for a day like I said - there are better places to spend time in Italy 🇮🇹- thanks for watching the video!
I focused on the massive spider also cliff jumping in Manarola Made me jump.Hope not to see one when I visit
Where was the massive spider!? Please tell me, I had no idea I captured a spider on camera.
@@JacksonMeyer It happens very quickly .,when you are about to enter the restaurant in Maranola on the cliff top Please let me know when you see it Definitely didn't imagine it!
Alberto's Gelato is not the best in Cinque Terre. Its ok
I just literally just left. I had 15 gelato shops from La Spezia to Monterossa. Very basic.
But great video!!!! We used it for 5 city stop. Thankz
I'm all ears, what do you think is your favorite?
amazing! How were the crowds this time of year?
Very low crowds.... The Gelato in Vernazza was bad the best!!! It's called "Gelateria Vernazza".. I literally ate 2 Gelato shops in each town.. I love it... Right across the alley way from Alberto's is another gelato shops called "Gelateria Corniglia" was much better than Alberto's.. and the funny thing is.. the shop owner woman husband's is name Alberto, but does not own Alberto's Gelato.. hilarious
@@JacksonMeyeragain. Great video.... It inspired my wife and I visit to Cinque Terre!!!!! Love your content
too much of American consumption mentality in this video... go -see- eat -take photo -leave.
Thank you for your feedback, as someone who is from an American tourist town and sees this exact same thing here in the U.S - it’s not specific to nationality, it is consumerism worldwide and I try to be conscious about my impact on their culture and land. Thx again.
What was the name of your hotel?
