  • WANNA HIT MORE DINGERS?!
Well, ya gotta be locked in, grounded and balanced.
We as softball players tend to want to keep swinging HARD to find more engagement, but sometimes what we NEED is to slow things down and FEEL what balance, connection and engagement is so we can repeat it on the BIG SWINGS. Here’s a simple drill I taught at our Nebraska Clinics this week to help you FEEL more engagement with your lower half and CONNECTION with your upper half! I call it --- Pretzel Turns
Being balanced and connected are going to require a few things before and during contact:
    - Weight in the middle of your stance with hinged hips (weight in your heels, straight back and booty back)
    - Which is getting those back glutes engaged Front heel remaining connected with the floor and locked in as your hips start to drive forward - A good 45 degree angle with those shoulders at contact... ...giving you an extended back hip with your head over your back knee
NOTE: As you’re turning, you’re going to want to feel like your feet are “splitting the floor” underneath you which is allowing the floor to help with torque and energy build-up! All you need is your bat to do this drill ---and you can make it even better by doing this in front of a long mirror to check your alignment. 10 reps of this a day is all it takes to be more engaged with your swing and slow it down. Do the work. See the results. #hittingdrills
