We are going over how to make your high school soccer team in today's video! Although this is mainly directed at high school players, these ideas can be used by most players. Live stream has been moved to tomorrow at 5 PM!
I'm transferring to a new high school as a sophomore. And I'm using the summer to train to prepare for try outs in September. Perfect timing for this video :) thanks !
I’m watching this video trying to make the JV team for my Hs. Unfortunately, my Highschool is huge and attracts so many incredible players. I was the manager of the Freshman team, holy cow they were good. We went 16-0, scoring 62 goals and letting in 6. I really want to make the JV team because our team is a really nice group. We are talked about all over the state and everyone thinks that when we become juniors/ seniors we will win state at least once. It’ll be hard but I’m ready. Wish me luck
Easy just have on of these.... High school coach that also coaches your club Club coach and hs coach are friends Kiss ass Have a older brother that played varsity
Ok, my tryouts are tomorrow. Ive practiced this entire summer doing all of the stuff you recommended. And we will see how ill do. I aiming to make the A team for the high school. I hope what you said was correct.
I had tryouts today and I did all of these and it didn't go very well. I'm a defender and most of our points are coming from shooting and I'm not a good shooter and have a weak foot, I'm losing points because of that
Last year, I played over the summer and fall and was in shape and good but over winter I didn't play much and got unfit before my highschool tryout I only had 1 week to get fit so I did not make it even though I played well I was not fit and season ready. So this year I started training right after not making it in the tryout and played all the way through to this February my tryout, I played in the winter too to make sure I was fit and then I made it this year.
I’m entering my senior year in the end of the month, and tryouts happen mid-September, I finished school in mid-June and entered a two-week football course for one month in late-June until early August and I’ll use this time to work on my physical fitness and focusing on individual training
I have soccer tryouts next week for my high school and since there was not enough girls interested were going co-ed so I'm terrified but I believe in my skills and my god, and I think I can make the team (:
I made the JV team, almost all the girls are on JV though, my parents told me to keep working on my skill, and prove that a girl deserves to be on the varsity team to!! @@Anna-hs3ef
Hey here in 2021, freshman year…. I’m trying out for JV and Im a bit worried not too much cus I have experience but I’ve never been on a team. I’m prepared physically though, wish me luck and I’ll let y’all know what happens

I haven't played in 2 and half years and I'm going to tryout for my high school team but I forgot what the rules are and how to play my position. I play forward.
ANTvidsGaming_43 oh man... I'm a forward with 150+ goals (just saying I have experience) no matter what stay at the middle of field or higher, try to get more fit, if u are a goal scorer, try to juggle up to 50, it will improve ball control, work on shooting
Yep I’m the same I haven’t played in like 3 or 4 years and I just started to play again in the past 30 days in hopes of maybe making the team in the fall

Hmm im new to American HS soccer but have played in my country 11 year old team for a bit, we didn’t have tryouts. Can you explain how it works ? Is there point system or something?
@@tommy.vercetti2003 I haven't been on a tryout either but from what I've heard, a tryout is like a practice with lots of people where coaches see what you can do and what your skills are. They put you in small group games and make you play against lots of different people. If you make the cut, coaches invite you to the second day of tryout where you pretty much do the same thing but with better players. At the end, they show you a list of the players that made it to the team or got cut. Sorry if the explanation was too long
@@greensussypotato tnx for info, i didn’t do soccer freshman year because i was nervous cuz it was my first year in US and “stranger” environment, regret every bit but from few small plays with the JV players I’m feeling quite confident the only part is i hope i get noticed cuz there is 100 and some kids 🤞 oct 31
@@tommy.vercetti2003 That's almost 2 months, if I were you, I would try to get more match experience and more experience playing with a team, communication is ESSENTIAL on a tryout. Coaches like to see great communication with new teammates, sharp, fast and precise passes, TAKING SHOTS (important), FITNESS (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - try to get a mile in under 7 minutes) And finally, having confidence in yourself and not playing shy. It might look a lot for 2 months but if you can master most of these things, coaches WILL notice you and you WILL MAKE IT!!!
@@greensussypotato oct 31 is in 10 days but i been working out and trying to get fit and ready since late July, also i been playing 2v2 and 4v4 with the kids at my school 🤞🙏
i love the effort you make to make someone else better at scoring, but the problem is if someone actually stuck to these things you say their whole tem would hate them because they arent passing or making a good contribution to the team.
I didn't even know I was gonna try out for soccer tbh, I have been working out but I am gonna be working hard core until November 30th when the first day of try outs is
Just yesterday I impulse signed up to join a soccer team... Its not try outs and IDK when tryouts are *but* the first practice is in a month and a half. I hope I'm gonna be okay.
I've never played soccer on a large scale befor and I'm going to try to be a goalie for my high school soccer team I have been practicing for 4 months now do you think I'll be at a Disadvantage when trying to join please answer back thank you
My tryouts start in 2 months (end of February) and pre season starts tomorrow (12/12/18). But I'm at a huge disadvantage. I've played rec my entire life with "bad" teams while pretty much else is (or has been) on select/premier. I'm a pretty good player on my own (as for 2 years on my current rec team) I have scored a total of about 15 goals and over 40 assists. But this year my teammates didn't want me to "show off" too much so I only scored 4 goals. Any tips on getting to a high select level in 2 months? If it helps I'm really fast (I can run about 20 mph max) and can score decently with my weak foot and really good with my strong foot, and I play a winger/forward. Their are only 12 spots for freshman and they are for mostly for defense players? Thanks in advanced
Same here I’ve only played rec but Im really fast (3rd fastest on the track team) and my freshmen tryouts are in August and I’m super scared cuz I’ve only done rec and my team isn’t the best per say. But I hope u did great and let me know if u made it or not. Thx!
Defense is a good position to try out. Probably takes the least amount of technical skill out of all the positions since you don’t need to worry as much about dribbling or shooting, so it will be good to try out for.
