I was born premature in 1988. I was in the hospital for year and and my disability was not understanding math. I was put in special classes to help me through my issues in understanding math and now in my 30’s I’m going after my BA degree in business administration and doing well. I never gave up even though I wanted to but at the end I had great family support and community college instructors that helped me understand it better and to Never give up.

This is great for dyslexic kids to see. And it's not written. I wish all kids could see this, to understand dyslexia in themselves or their friends, and to see how successful a dyslexic person can be. Awesome video!

It is shocking what a difference highlighting can make in keeping you focused as you are reading-and then you flip through the highlights right before a test and it makes you very effective. Great technique for Gavin Newsom to mention, whether dyslexic or student who has a lot of reading to remember!

In my twenties I found that if I knew a movie well enough, I could practice reading print because I knew what it would say. I learned to match the shape of words with the verbal words.

Yes, most of us learn it by heart so you see the architecture of the word. Personally I have problems spelling but have roughly old 300 points at university level and speak English, French, German, Swedish and some Spanish .

Thank you Governor Newcom, for this interview, it help me so much, I really think I have dyslexia. What you describe, I struggled with, but didn't have a name for it. They didn't test kids in school, when i was in school, a long long time ago. I knew something was wrong with my learning, i was very bad in English class, taking test in school....i know i knew the answers but it didnt look like that on my test scores. I didn't know what was wrong with me, until I stumbled upon this interview. Reading a book and underlining it, gosh... I marked books up too. I also hated reading, never have finish a book yet. When I read, my brain sometimes picks some words in the sentence, not all of them, so I try to figure what is being said. Sincerely thank you.

Her sister is not smarter but more studious.
Well, we will suspend investigations here...
We will get back with the car then restart the invesgations once back in the US.
He can stay there with his actual situation like that in the meantime...or go out to join them if he is sure. We suspend our reforms until everything will be clear.
