    Thanks for the tip, Alison. 👍❤ Before I play my violin, I always warmup with the chromatic scale in the key of C for proper finger placement and intonation. BTW: What motivated me to learn to play the violin with determination and passion is that, unlike the cello and viola, it plays in the treble clef along with all my other treble clef instruments. Yippee! 🎼🎻🎶 At my age, I would rather learn a new fingering chart than a whole new music language. 😉

      @@TheOnlineViolinTutor yep that was me. thank you so much! I practice scales but admittedly I have been all over the place, practicing one thing and then moving on to something else. My instructor said my intonation is actually getting pretty good. I just need to practice more

    I sing Do Ray Me to tune my voice. I wonder if that tune would tune the intonation of the violin?

    Is there a way to get all the courses in a hard book versions? Like the ones In the background of the video

      Hi, they are only available as downloadable books and then you either print them out at home, or have a local printers do it.
      We dont have them as physical books as this then triples the cost of everything due to having to print them and then ship it all worldwide with insurance etc.
      Im totally self finding, so its just not feasible.

    do high end strings affect the sound of electric violins?

    • @TheOnlineViolinTutor
      @TheOnlineViolinTutor  2 роки тому +1

      In my opinion, not really. I recommend metal/steel strings for an elec violin however since you want a more amplified sound and because there is nothing for the natural sound to resonate through (like the hollow wood of a traditional violin), so synthetic or gut (fancy expensive ones) are a bit wasted in my opinion for that reason.

      If your electric violin has magnetic pickups (only a few do), then you have to use steel cored strings, I use a couple piezo based ones as most are I’ve tried loads from Dominants to really cheap unbranded ones. I prefer a more orchestral sound than distortion/overdrive, I now use D’Addario Zyex and really like them, they are much more mellow than steel cores, however I do keep a few sets of very cheap D’Addario Pro steel strings, which will do in an emergency, but steel cores, like the Helicores I used previously can be a little shrill.
