I’ve always viewed 'The Black Douglas' as an early example of psychological warfare. The English army and the commoner genuinely feared his myth and Legend but he really was an incredible Knight. He loved his nation and never let the English forget that Scotland does not belong to England. There’s countless tales of his raids and his deeds, he was feared by the English but loved by the Scots, it’s that whole 'One man’s terrorist is another man’s hero'. He’s on my list of five people I’d love to have dinner with 😂 I reckon even though I’m a Scot I’d still be nervous around him! I’m loving your channel mate, it’s brilliant and I share it with the kids who I look after. They aren’t in mainstream education so videos like this go down so well. Thank you 💙
Scotland had had very few experienced battle hardend warriors when Edward the first started his invasion as both Scotland and England were at peace with each of for over 100 hundred years. Yet Edward chose to attack when Alexander the Third King of Scotland died.
Hey, just want to us if maybe you could use mount and blade:viking conquest to tell a viking history. No one has really done that, add more title in your great animations
Great stuff as always. I recently heared about a film called OUTLAW KING. I know such movies are not always historically accurate but I can get passed that, is it worth a watch anyone?
No idea what you are talking about and I am going to assume you are trolling but not they were Scots. Scots can be a mix of anything from Picts, Britons, Gaels, Norse, Angles and Franks depending on his ancestry, but certainly not African.

Love your videos buddy, thank you for covering Scottish history more than my Scottish school did.
No problem. Scottish history is fantastic.
The court of youtubers has decided to declare you guilty and pardon you at the same time. 😉
Carry on Sir, do carry on👍
Pretty please? 🥺😉
I'm glad you enjoyed them, yes history can be quite serious and dark sometimes, hence why I try to add some dry humour into it.
I’m a descendent of James Douglas, it feels good to know and understand your families hardships and struggles, long live clan of Douglas! 🦡 🔥
not after the black dinner
I’m also a descendant of The Black Douglas, it’s so cool to have such a legendary figure as your ancestor.

Brilliant! Very very well done 👏🏼🏴
I would say William Wallace was like the Spitfire and James Douglas was the Hawker Hurricane. If you know, you know.
Edward 1st, Edward 2nd, and Henry 3rd sure had their work cut out with the Scots👍
Cool poem!

I am a descendant of the Douglas Clan !!!! Douglas the Black !!!!! The first Bad Ass !!!!
Nonsense Alexander the Great was the 1st Badass...
Proud descendant of this man!
Great content ! ;)
The Scots seem to have suffered some major defeats in the early phases of the War of Independence but they ended up kicking ass at the end!

Do you have or will you have any videos on the conquest of wales?
Love your work mate! 👍🏻
I'll differently cover welsh history probably after I've done the next project. I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
bravo!
The name Douglas does have power and royalty to it. A warning going in front of. Not sure why. Just seems to be.

I do use the occasional bit of mount and blade footage and I do like Viking history, which I may look into one day.
