You must reflash the ECU either by sending out the ECU itself or getting something like a Power commander after installing an exhaust. If you don't then you will be down on power and just making a bunch of extra noise. Will the bike blow up? No, it won't self destruct just because you didn't get it set up for the exhaust but it won't feel as good. There's a lot of benefits to having your ECU flashed by someone experienced and I highly recomend saving up for it.
