Wouldn't be good if some of her haters would use facts instead of labels. Jane stands up for democracy and has more guts than all those haters put together. They should put their beers down and pick up a book. jxxx

I love listening to her speak. She's smart, funny and captivating - a brilliant story teller. I still don't "own" who I am . . . I'm in my 3rd act . . . I like thinking about life this way. I also like knowing what my regrets would be - this makes so much sense. God I loved her story about the end of her marriage . . . she was my age. "Patriarchy takes aim at girls voices but it takes aim at boys hearts." I intuitively knew this and strove to raise my son so that he kept connected to his heart. It was nearly impossible once he entered school and even overcoming the crush of fear from his own dad. Feminism=becoming full human beings - I love this definition.

You might love your country, but only an ignorant person would become a blind patriot. If your country is doing something morally wrong, do stand up and speak against it.. that's the right thing to do. That's why I respect her.

To me it's precisely Jane Fonda's committed and courageous stance on Vietnam that allows her to transcend even her great accomplishments in film. I think of Mohammad Ali in the same way. He's considered by many the greatest athlete of the 20th century, but I think what makes him universally loved throughout the world is his firm anti-war, anti-racist stance, for which he had to pay the price when he refused to be sent to Vietnam to kill people who were not his enemy.

I can relate to Ms. Fonda. I've had a most miserable, hurtful life with lots of pain of different kinds, but I don't give up on God. I became born again AFTER Sept. 11, 2001. So many young ones in our country that are lost and in need of direction. Love this video and will watch it many times, because Ms. Fonda is such a motivational speaker. Love her!

JULIA (1977) with Jane Fonda, is my favorite film. But Vanessa Redgrave's performance as Julia, shines in a film filled with great performances. Set in the 1930's, the themes of anti-fascism, friendship, art and theater are blended in a perfect film. It's unique in capturing the plight of writer, Lillian Hellman/Fonda, as she struggles with her first play. We see Hellman walking on the beach and in the background the turbulent ocean waves are churning like the thoughts in her head. Brilliant shot. The apogee is the fraught scene between Hellman and Julia in a Berlin tavern as Hellman smuggles in cash for anti-Nazi activities, and while Fonda is excellent, Fonda herself said Redgrave's performance was on an entirely elevated level.

Ive always enjoyed watching and listening to Jane Fonda. Certainly the "Hanoi Jane" incident is a chapter in her life she regrets. She's a terrific woman.

UA-cam timeline: 1:03 God is not a Republican or Democrat - LOL. God is not a respecter of persons! Acts 10:34 God/Christ loves ALL - Movie Stars and Alcoholics (Recovering) as myself. Jane speaks the truth in regards to her emotional pain and calling to God for help! At 9 years sober I experienced that same emotional pain as Jane. The bottom fell out of my life and I realized trying to live without God in my life wasn't working! I didn't just get down on my knees but, laid flat on the floor and cried out to Jesus to help me. I knew from past experiences that only Christ could remove this pain from me for He bore it on Cross. Jane is also right when she said that supernaturally you can be lead to just the right book for help. Christ lead me to THREE books. Each with its own special purpose! The first book - a spiritual guide to allow the spirit to shine into the darkness of my heart. The second book - a guide to show me the part I played in my pain. The third book - brought laughter back into my life! Oh, how it felt good to laugh again! Like Jane, I do not hesitate to share this experience when I have the opportunity because of God's mercy and grace to love us and heal us when we cry for help! I leave you with the complete scripture I referenced in the beginning... Gentiles Hear Good News: 34,35 Opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, 35: but in every nation the man who fears Him and does what is right is welcome to Him. 36: The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all) I pray Jane's words and my words will encourage anyone who is out there hurting. God will meet you if you ask / Surrender to Win - It's a Paradox. We just finally surrendered!

+Abner That's not true at all. Beginning with Platonic philosophy and ending with the Theosophists you'll find the brightest people accept that there's something greater and beyond our comprehension. Actually, begin with India and all the way West. ..the same thing, delivered differently. Some is dogmatic and political, so it takes a really bright mind do distill its essence and do away with the outer layer.

I agree on your views regarding the treatment of women globally. I hope there are exceptions to it that i have not really witnessed so far. When it comes to politcs, i prefer to keep an independent view since if there is evil in the right wing agenda, there is also evin in the left wing one .. not the same .. but bad things can be equally found in both parties and we hope, good things as well. ... Being independent thinking allows to keep some distrance from the party politics and assess the situation in a more independent way ... rather than the black and white dichotomy of one sided view.

The problem is that women, because they raise the children and sometimes stay at home, have a very vulnerable status. They are apart and men have failed to acknowledge that difference and to ensure that, despite this different status, that they can live healthy, safe and prosperous life and enjoy a career as well even if adpatation must be made and ensure that they have a retirement even if their husband leaves them or they divorce.

She's been very honest about her surgery since though, and also says she isn't proud of it and wishes she was stronger. But she spent her entire life with body image issues, starting with her dad always calling her fat, and the insecurities got the better of her. I appreciate her being so candid about the issue, at least, so many celebs deny having any surgery.
