Kim Deal, one of America's hidden musical treasures.
so cool
I LOVE Kim but is she really "hidden?" She gets her due, no?
@@mattcreen never been hidden, always great...
Hidden because pre instant Google era: when you couldn't look up lyrics or a song or see a bands entire catalog while taking a duece
!
Kim is amazing ... love the way she sings ....
Her voice is the most 90s thing to ever 90s 😊
A superb album and one of the highlights of Kim's career to date. Absolutely love it.
Totes malotes.
to date? she's done. How many people do their best work in their 60's? It's geritol tour time.
Am the President of the Kim Deal Fan Club over here in China. :) Hope they come over for a show in Shanghai. She and the band won't regret it.
Kim has always been effortlessly cool.
Since spotify doesn't have this album anymore, I just restored my old 2006 macbook that has this album on it so I can add it to my current laptop and sync it on my phone. Such a good album & song!
Spotify does indeed have this album
Bob_Dobbs must be new because they haven’t had it for years
I woulda just bought the CD again.
Big Ern Mahkracken yeah but my new MacBook doesn’t have a cd drive so it would be impossible to listen to it on my phone. I don’t own a boom box anymore 😂
@@danielle.. you can just get an external dvd cd writer for like 20 bones my dude, should plug straight in and work .
This version is like butter. I can't believe they didn't put it on the album.
One thing about kim deal is that ahe knows how to make simple easy to get into songs pacers I feel is very underrated and also unheard of as well!❤️❤️❤️
Never knew this had a video. This album is pretty good. It’s basically a lost Breeders album.
Yeah or more like a solo album for tge band had a brief split up but Kim wanted to still do music so she made the amps and this is their only released project
Everything Kim Deal touches turns to fucking GOLD!
KIM DEAL JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER
it's a shame she and Black Francis didn't get along
Top 10 best rock album ever
gorgeous!
I never knew about this version though I did buy Pacer on cd and tape when it came out. Like the subtle differences between the album version and this version.
I found this song yesterday after going through a Pixies bender then The Breeders and then found this song. I totally dig it. Also, me and Kim and Kelly share the same birthday, just not the same year.
Kim and her seductive voice. love her and the amps.
That voice.. It's like velvet, melted butter, soft n warm, beautiful, sweet n mysterious, a whole load of other things, just love love love it.
great stuff
Holy shit on my face! I just heard the keyboard on the chorus!
My uncle actually met and grew up right near Kim Deal in Dayton Ohio and partied with her a few times. Cool chick, keep rocking
Spotify made it available again!
Yes they did which is where I even heard it from
Saw them live on the Foo Fighters first tour. Amazing.
Que buena. Kim Deal. I-deal
Just saw The Breeders in Detroit on 11/1. They did this song. I've always had a major obsession with Kim & Kelley Deal. The new stuff sounds great so far. Can't wait for the full album.
404 there's More to life than this shikari subliminal Tsuki postmortem voodoo negative awaits led no Creep plastilina Venom sumo once cancer sorewa less
That's pure mid 90's. Love it.
Pacer, one of my favourite albums of all time, not only because it evokes some of the happiest moments in my life, but for the greatness of each and every song in it. Pure Kim's magic
Not one single filler there, I agree!
@@getz1474 Not at all, they even left "Just Like a Briar", a great song, out of the final cut.
i agree, love every song on it
this version is so much better than the album version
My one problem with the album is that the audio quality is...not great. It's like they said, "Let's make a lo-fi album" and then took it too far.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
@@miker.9138yes i agree, it doesn’t seem clear at all for some reason
I should be able to ike this video 100000 times ❤️
I watched a VHS of a Amps gig at Steve Albini’s recording studio in Chicago. That was cool.
This album is the best indie-pop-punk you can listen to......!!!!
saw the breeders once way northside chicago, I was living near the zoo at the time. woke up early and groggy in the am the next day to drive my bf to work and saw kim deal tripping balls in the street in front of her hotel. i was like, hey! i just saw you last night whats up!?!? lame story I know. I'm full of em
this is a gem
This mix (and/or rexording) isn't on the album though, where's it from?
Why do I not remember this album? Was this a Breeders/Kim Deal side project?
Kim, the guy below stole my word" TREASURE"...... I LOVE YOU KIM!!! YOU ARE. ONE OF AMERICA'S TREASURES... I'M SO GLAD I GET TO HEAR YOUR MUSIC... 💘
How could Charles not give her more of the reigns. All due respect to Paz- she’s a great muso. But there’s only one Kim Deal.
If she stayed in the Pixies, that's one great band. Now she's left, that's two (or three if you count The Amps separate to The Breeders)
@@hoagy_ytfc True, but the pixies would have had another 3 or 4 great albums that matched their first four. Everything has gotten progressively worse after Trompe. Last Splash, All Nerve, and Mountain Battles are great. And Pacer. She’s probably been more consistent than Charles post Pixies.
@@lockyp204 I agree they've got worse since Trompe Le Monde, but I don't follow your logic that this wouldn't have happened if Kim stayed a member - she wasn't the songwriter apart from the odd outlier like Gigantic
@@hoagy_ytfc Yeah I know, harkening back to my point that I’ll never understand why he never gave her more of the reigns
@@lockyp204 Fair point, put like that! But like when Tanya Donnelly left Throwing Muses, it left her old band more or less the same, but gave us a decent new band. Same with Kim and Pixies, as I see it
the bassist looks like the guitarist of nirvana
The Amps are Jim MacPherson, Nate Farley, Luis Lerma and Tammy Amperson
Aka Mrs. John Murphy.
Who the fuck are the Amps...never heard of them?
great song, great video, kim is the deal
Did this get re-recorded for a video later on? It doesn't sound like the album version.
Oh, I figured it out. This song was re-recorded for a promotional single in 1996 when the Amps supported the Foo Fighters on tour. This version of the song comes from that release.
Everytime I surf this songs in my head....
I love this
Kim is the best. I like that Jim win too;) thank you for putting this up!
This doesn't sound like the album version
Kim re-records a lot of singles.
Kim Deal has carefully avoided the 'what is it like to be a woman in the music industry?' shit. She's just a great artist and a very smart person. I waited outside the shop to buy on the day it came out in the UK. About 5 people were in front of me, all for the same reason. That she constantly strives to evolve while already successful is something even the greatest artists don't have the bottle to do. She does. Good for her.
To be honest, she is the only musical figure I've ever wanted to meet and I'm 47.
Agreed. Kim and Kelley also remind me a lot of my wife and her twin sister. They are all Dayton girls, which probably has a lot to do with it. The Deals live 10-15 minutes away...hopefully I can meet them someday.
Finally.someone met YOUR expectations! And only on 47 yrsn yay! Im so happy about that. Nevermind the sacrifices the musicians make to it to your mighty presence.
@@benkeleta3357 imagine getting salty over someone's musical preferences lmao
Heard of breeders but this is new.I was a drunkard but found DMT,thanks ladies and dudes.nice.
I sure do miss good music.
It’s like twee Breeders. In a great way.
Breeders had twee moments. Such as Divine Hammer.
I like Tammy and the Amps.
Prost and Senna
It's a shame that most of the 90s music videos weren't turned into celluloid so they can be later scanned into full HD :/
I don't mind that it's bad quality. It takes you back....
Nate Farley, well in lad!
macpherson=so damn good
What is a mc pherson?
Jim MacPherson is the drummer in this video.
what year is this from?
1995
The release of this video & the re-recording of the song "Pacer" is actually from 1996. "Tipp City" was the single in fall 1995.
It's from 1996. The album 'Pacer' was released October 1995. This re-recording of the title track and its video were released in 1996.
1812. The year the Brits fucked the White House. You don't got Canada, bitch.
@@neilwilson5785 we would have been better off if they had re-established rule. We certainly have fallen far off the podium in the past 90 years.
Didn't know Zach Woods played drums
Now I like to get loud
I like to go to the other side
Just got think, you were just passing by
Riding around
You spat in my eye
Just to think, you were just passing by
We were hike to hike
Breezing by
You broke the pace
You’re just a twisted kid never learned to ride
Now I like to get loud
I like to go to the other side
Just to think, you were just passing by

Youre just a twisted kid never learned to ride
Now my wheels are off the ground
They keep spinning around
Just to think, you were just passing by
Now I like to get loud

Just to think, you were just passing by
I’m woefully behind on music.
You're in for one hell of a journey man! I envy you. The first half of the 90s alone has like 100s of alternative bands that will blow your socks off.
she almost sings with an australian accent
this song is amazing
heard this first and then heard the album version, i like this one more, is it in any album or re-release?
It's on a promo CD single, that's all. You can find it for sale on Discogs.
thank you!
Ohio for the win.
Still the 2nd coolest girl from Dayton, OH (my wife is from Dayton)! Hazaa for Kim Deal!
What an underrated low fi album that was. Not a single weak song on it. Imo better than the Last Splash, that had some fillers (Pod was untouchable)

Lovely!
Didn’t that guitar player once tow the GBV van?
She./---- (dragunity phalynx.ksxcs) huh crazy dipper thanks a lot lol.
The Muffs cover is also good, in a different way.
I've been listening to Kim and Cos music for a long time and I never heard of this?!
What the heck?
The Amps … great album !
Such a great band and fantastic song but the video is dreadful , uninspiring and irrelevant
Manic Monday is in the bassline, it starts right when she says "Just passing by..." Lol, love it 🎸
Very vague, both songs have bass lines in places go down for a few notes, but that's about it. So do a bazillion others. Basically, no.
Removed from spotify :/
Hhhhhhh music him her whommmmmmmn not can’t be wouldn’t be me the one whom wood.
This is officially last time she had a make up and washed her hair.
epik
Wait... this is from ‘95! The Midwest sucks for playing any variety. Why did WIIZ have to fold?
This reminds me The Cranberries a lot...
The real reason Kim deal didn't join the current version of The Pixies... Frank Black couldn't STAND the thought of Kim writing better pop songs than he could. Which she could, hands-down.
I think she probably had a lot of issues with the songs they were writing and the way they were being recorded. Plus she didn't really have fun in that band-hanging out, etc.-and would rather do her own thing, which makes sense. She's in her mid-50s, why spend time doing something you're not really into, with people you're not really friends with anymore? (Looking forward to the day when people will stop talking about the Pixies every time they talk about Kim.)
Charles,
yeah right. next you're gonna say your best friends with her. She was in the band. She did the reunion. Now she's doing something else. Nothing to gossip about.
Brad,
Really? not mention Kim with the Pixies? That's just ridiculous. She was integral to the band.
From what I read, Charles might well have a point, but more relating to why The Pixies split first time round. Further evidence in my opinion, is Black Francis hasn't come up with a good song since....suggesting to me, Kim had all the song writing smarts.
Don't be silly. The most pop sounding song that the Pixies recorded was "Here comes your man" and Charles wrote it when he was a teenager. Gigantic, the bands first hit, was mainly composed by Charles as well, with Kim figuring out the lyrics.
I'm happy with my view....the new Pixies material minus Kim Deal has been pretty crap too.
What´s the meaning of this video?
just found this in 2023
Aye you and me both for me I stared listening to them early this past spring first 2 song being cannonball and saints
Enjoy! 🍻
The spit makes me gag
Kim Deal is my spirit human! 😍✌🏻
Kim ❤❤ marry me
The Muffs brought me here
Tof van Kim
fucking banger of a song that's been stuck in my head since forever
he really spat on her.....
To feel the rush of Dilaudid with Deal would be life changing
Why not simply "The Breeders" again ?
Frank Zappelin Her sister was in prison and the other girl was taking a break, so she made this group as a side project.
yeah but later she kept the name "Breeders" even with a different line up !
Frank Zappelin I think she wanted to keep the lineup for the 2nd album after her sister rejoined, but the other two weren’t interested at the time so they changed it back.
Are those F2000 cars or Formula Atlantic?
Now I know where the title for Pavement's "Spit on a Stranger" came from...
a 90s song with the video was uploaded earlier this month 😅
So VU 😉
Kim
She truly is a babe!😊
Ayrton Senna
This is effing great.
Yawn. Other than the double tracked female vocals. Always love that. Kim, you're a great songwriter....cannonball, etc are top-knotch.
