Flashing Lights has lots of potential, I've owned the game from the start and the development over the years have been amazing. It's just unfortunate that the game only has a single developer so work is slow. If this game ever gets even a small team of developers of like 5, this games development work could speed up so much. Over all of these years of this game being worked on, the developer is still working hard on this game. Very impressive and props to them for continuing making this game better and better. I don't think a lot of people know that this game has a very small development team so when they hear that this game has improved so much over the years, they don't think the best of the game.
@@yeet-- Damn. So I guess I will continue to stick with the GTA police MODs instead then. What a disappointment. needs more traffic stop questions ect more for police single player roleplay, i bought the game about a year ago and im deeply disapointed on how far it has came... kinda sad
It's really cool to see someone with a small or no budget continuing to work on a title to make it better, those are the folks I like to help support if possible. It looks great so far.
Flashing Lights actually looks like it's getting good, it got a good map and graphics. Now the only thing the devs need to focus on is tweaks and adding in pedestrian and traffic density because it looks like a ghost city.
For people who dont like gta lspdfr or fivem and want something much simpler the game is perfect for that I honestly hope the dev improves it and right now the game is rlly awesome
I'm really looking forward to seeing what this game brings. The map is pretty good size, Once we start getting more NPC more traffic etc... This game will be awesome! BTW Awesome video as always Jeff! Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Some things he didn't show in this video that are pretty big for the game and rp opportunities. 1. There is now a working CAD system where departments can respond to other calls. For example on a car crash or fire police can now attach to them for traffic control. 2. The police department and fire department now have a interior! The police department it's mostly finished with jail cells and meetings rooms whereas the fire department needs work. No interior for ems as of yet but EMS can now deploy at the fire station. 3. This is mostly for the rp community but as a police you can now out people into the trunk. Might be testing for a possible civ role in the future? 4. There are now uses for the ladder trucks in game, the tall buildings can catch on fire
I've been looking forward to this upload all day. Thanks for the continued entertainment, Jeff. So glad I found yours (and subsequent friends) channel(s).
Best part of this update is that when you do a traffic stop, they actually pull over to the side of the road. This game is getting better. Love to see more flashling lights from you Jeff!
It’s impressive to me that this is being developed by a one man team and seeing the amount of re-work done to the map and vehicle customisation is a big step forward. This game desperately needs more backup AI, in depth pursuits with tactics as well as some of the features from mods like LSPDFR and it’s add ons to keep people interested in my opinion.
Thank you for checking latest updates! About the sirens might be saved from earlier version but now there are tone options to select from in Vehicle menu. Regards Nils
There are some notable bugs. What I thought was cool was the speed radar, and you could put the speed they were going on there. I'd love to see this type of stuff on GTA Roleplay across the board. Pretty neat game! I'd love to see road names built, and see you guys do RP with this!
it’s good still some glitches bugs and major fixes that needs to be done For example going under the map having the fuel nozzle stuck to ur vehicle cars r glitched that u can’t interact with them or u can’t pull over When found stolen they say they r fleeing but they r not like they do donuts when that happens or drive in circles and other things that need to be fixed
It has potential but the driving still feels wonky imo. Its good but could be better. Hospital and fire house is the most disappointing interiors I've ever seen!
@@PardyN2 As someone who's never played Flashing Lights, may I ask how exactly the driving is wonky in this game? Because from what I can tell from just watching Jeff's playthrough of it, it seems just fine to me, I dunno.
With the final traffic stop, if you are directly behind the pulled over vehicle the other traffic on the highway will go around you. In multiplayer there's now the ability for departments to have multiple calls at once. And units can join other departments calls. For example a few days ago I was in FD and took a vehicle accident call. A police and ems unit also joined the same call. Later on as ems I joined onto a missing person callout where the police couldn't find the person. (Personally, I find this ability really nice for roleplay purposes.) I find it impressive how much the developer has achieved. As someone with experience in programming I can tell you that at times it feels like an analogy for murphy's law. I've spent more time than I want to admit (several hours) staring at a single line of code trying to figure out what's causing the entire program to break.
i started following Flashing Lights after your videos got me into LSPDFR. playing that made me hopeful that some aspiring developer(s) would pick up the torch of making a fully-featured open world police sim so i happy to see someone trying it (Flashing Lights.) unfortunately as i followed its progress for about a year and a half, it's just never going to develop into a truly finished and fully developed product IMHO. basic necessities for this type of game are still completely absent or woefully simplistic, buggy, or underdeveloped. i feel bad for "crapping" on the dev, i'm sure they're doing their best, but i would advise anyone steer clear of Flashing Lights unless they're cool with playing what is essentially a buggy police sim tech demo.
The map is starting to remind me of San Andreas, with the onramps and little towns looking similar, but that's good! It certainly does have a lot of potential, but we'll have to see what they do with it next, hope you keep coming back to it!
Great video Jeff and hope you have a merry chirstmas first of all.Honestly been enjoying the game lately when I do play it. The newer map is pretty fun the calls haven gotten a little better but sorta glitchy still. I love the sheriff's livery i honestly hope they make more cop outfits/new player models for you to use! (Thanks for the heart dude been enjoying your videos the past few years!)
Thanks for doing this! I put in probably 36 hours plus and stopped playing for about 10 months. Seems it looks better and isn’t as repetitive etc I think I’m gonna load it back up and give it another shot.
Jeff, When you edit your patrol unit, you can add a back light bar to your car so you can turn on traffic advisory lights while on your traffic stop. You can direct traffic to lean left (3 on keyboard) or right (4 on keyboard) or stop (5 on keyboard) depending on where you did the traffic stop. Anyway, enjoying this update!
While the game needs work and is seriously lacking in certain areas, what they have done right, they’ve done really right. It’s so incredibly important that fans of police sims need to support it so that it can grow into the standalone police sim that the community deserves. LSPDFR is amazing but we seriously need a really good stable standalone game at some point
Jeff if you press 3,4,5 the traffic lights on the back will guide the cars which ever direction you want them to go or Stop! them completely during a traffic stop.
I've played most of the police simulators out there, like others have. Every time we're disappointed and let down, because every game is shit. For a long time there, I stopped trusting Indie devs because of it. Nils/600 changed my mind, so much so that I was happy to volunteer as a moderator for the FL discord. There are a lot of aspects about this game that need polished and defined, but I have nothing but faith in Nils to make FL the best emergency services sim. Will it ever rival LSPDFR? Fuck no, because LSPDFR is built off a triple A title. The LSPDFR devs didn't build a game from the ground up. FL needs time, patience and understanding. The future for the game is bright, just need to give a chance and not have triple a game expectations
I loved how you incorporated my favorite Christmas movie in this video: National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. What is your favorite Christmas movie Jeff?
I think it will be a great game and I like the fact you don't get dinged for alcohol test when the game decides its not necessary unlike another game we all know where we get dinged for random things lol
Flashing Lights is still continuing to get better, more light bar updates ones paid, and a pickup truck pack, Swat truck. There’s been a beta that’s accessible right now for AI Backup for Police, EMS, and Fire obviously it’s a work of in progress but it’s definitely worth going back into Jeff just to compare it to from your first look to what it is now
@ I guess it depends on the person. Online can be pretty fun, I have over 200hrs on it, most of the time I’m spending hours making my lights as you can customize them to our own preference, there’s presets but you can do a lot with it. Playing with others online definitely enhances the game experience, as EMS players and Fire players usually do callouts together, and police can interact with those calls too. Blocking Traffic, or even interacting with AI drivers with Driver infractions, police chases can be pretty fun too, especially if you’ve got players who are willing to join in on them. Definitely a game that’s worth it in my opinion, it’s developed by two people I believe, and the progression is kind of insane, can be buggy at times sometimes the vc won’t work. But if you’re interested I’d recommend trying it out, and if it’s not your thing, you could always refund
Two things always kill this game for me whenever I check out its progress: the sounds are STILL awful and there is hardly any ambient traffic or peds. City always feels dead.
