male fantasy is in her perspective. when she looks at the pornography, she sees how unrealistic the standards are for women. the whole song is meditating on the effects porn has on men and how girls have to be picture perfect always.

This song really got me in the feelings because being in a relationship things like porn make you feel so insecure and you feel like you can never meet those standards yet you keep looking at the women and comparing yourself to them anyway and wondering why guys or your boyfriend wants that instead of you which may or may not be the case but the whole point is it fucks with your head and when I heard this it’s like Billie read my mind and always giving me something to relate too

I think Male Fantasy is actually from Billie's perspective, not a man's. It's her commentary on the 'male fantasy' and her experience with it seeing as she was at the center of it for a while right when she turned 18. At the beginning she's criticizing pornography because of how fake it is. Further into the song I think she's reflecting on a past relationship and kind of comes to the conclusion that she's really not over him and as much as she tells herself that she hates him, she doesn't. She put this song at the end instead of Happier Than Ever because she didn't want to end the album on an angry note. While HTE would've been a grand ending to this album, I think Male Fantasy actually works much better at winding things down and reflecting rather than staying mad. By putting Male Fantasy last, she's not holding the grudge she has in HTE.

Happier than ever could easily be the best album this year
On the end of " Halley's comet" she pays homage to the 50s music with the old vinyl sound and echoed far away voice and the old fashioned lyricism with a level of vocal skills very hard to reach for that age. She said she took inspiration from Peggy Lee who was a groundbreaking woman artist 60 years ago
She is becoming a real grand artist now. She even did gospel music on this album

Bossa Nova is a music style originally done in Brazil, one of the biggest songs of the genre is Garota de Ipanema, the sound Billie used in her song is very similar to the instrumentals that usually go with Bossa Nova, but with her special touch

bossa nova is a style of samba that was developed in Rio. it’s like a jazzy offshoot of samba. Billie Bossa Nova is billie pastiche of bossa nova. Also just reminder since i’m up to male fantasy. I do apologize for my counterparts who are shit heads, but there is a lot of societal conditioning that goes into the way men are. It might be hard for you to relate to, but we aren’t how we are just because. There’s a lot that an adult man needs to unlearn- crying is weakness, you need to be strong, etc etc that’s really hard to unlearn. I was already a big fan of billie eilish, and as a fan i have deep appreciation for her putting an album trying to relate to how men are and think and live. Happier than ever is amazing. I’ve already listened to it 4 times today, my faves are Oxytocin, Lost Cause and Happier Than Ever. Also gold wing. She feels like she’s growing into herself and unlike when we all fall asleep, which was also incredible, she feels like she’s no longer afraid of herself. She doesn’t like where her life is. Fame is fucking life up, but she’s no longer afraid of or apprehensive to be herself. Also fun fact- the album is 16 songs, as we know, but those 16 songs are the only songs they recorded. there wasn’t a huge number of songs left on the cutting room floor. and you can tell the two of them put so much work into the music.

Male fantasy is not a "male perspective" song... it's Billie perspective lol she said in a interview that she wanted to end the album in good terms with the person she's talking about
1:02:12 actually, Billie & Finneas were planning on making Happier Than Ever (the original song) be the last one on the album, but then one day, Billie started to sing a melody that turned out to be Male Fantasy, and they knew that they had to add it to the album cuz it's a really beautiful song. so your pre-assumption was kinda right, but not right too

I was just enjoying the album at first and then HTE came on and I literally screamed. It’s easily the best song I have ever heard!!! I would’ve loved for it to be a closing track tho, and have it transition into her 3rd album which has a more rock sound to it. That could’ve been so amazing 😭😭😭

About the "bossa nova" song, I'm a Brazilian, and basically the term "bossa nova", by which a movement to renew 'samba' radiated born in South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the late 1950s and which, consequently, gave name to the style of interpretation and rhythmic accompaniment from what it emerged, which became known as "different beat". According to journalist Ruy Castro, a famous journalist here in Brazil, it was “an extreme simplification of the beat of the samba school”, as if all instruments had been removed from it and only the "tamborim" (tambourine in English) was preserved.
