This video is a work of art in itself. The music is paralleled by the heartfelt and philosophic discussion. I laughed, I cried, I was inspired. Thank you to everyone who took park in making this episode.
Classical music is rigid and you can't go off into a meditative state which you can when you improvise. The state you talk about is what I go in when playing guitar or piano. It's like meditation, open to the universe, like something else takes over and you are in the moment as one.

Good Job ! Zoe Keating is such an interesting artist ! I love thoses live show ! Keep up the amazing work !
31:33 She is amazing on so many different levels! Her computer froze and she was as graceful about the situation as you could be! I am a musician and honestly, I don't know how I would have responded if one of my keyboards or computer froze...
For some reason the host for this sounds so much like Ron Steel from channel 7 news in Iowa! But hey that's cool makes me think of home and Ron's voice rocks.
Just read an article about a bunch of Juilliard grads ten years after graduation and what a rocky path they followed -- they should REALLY bring her there to do a masterclass on making your way as a classical musician without following the traditional path.
24:13 - "Totally immersed..." What they are talking about there is a psychology concept known as Flow (so called by Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi). It's a feeling and a state of mind wherein someone is lost in what they are doing, but are at their happiest and most focused state.
srsly, its too long Chase, try to make it under 40mins, just cut more unnecessary contents thought it would be better for both you and the audience. what do you think?

HAHA is that why there is so much hype over the new Leica Monocrome.
They are working on a movie together .. Can't remember the title right now. About Bhutan ....

Which piece is 28:30?
trees grow as mean trees grow and perfection is inperfetion on leaf the same
zoe keating is amazing !
The filming is great, the concept is great, the music not so much.
It's just artistic expression. Much the same way people shoot stills in black and white. I think black and white is much better than sephia. :-)
she should get together with Laurie Anderson
I like the black and white. Chase looks weird to me in colour.
Sorry I but hopefully I but to that. Look at my cello?

24:35... perfect state where she doesn't exist... :)
for $8000 and having kodak technology...I can hardly see the value
