I have found for fingering weight shawls I need both color variation and texture variation for my brain to stay interested all the way through. Last year I cast on for a rainbow shawl, and even tho there was color changes, it was all the same texture-the same 4 rows, and that was not enough and it was a slog to finish, took me one year. I had to bribe myself, that I couldn’t cast on a new project until I’d worked at least 8 repeats of my rainbow shawl.
I go through phases with colors. The first half of this year, almost all the yarn I was buying was pinks, purples, mauves, and I didnt notice until May. Then this summer I bought two sweaters worth of yarn, one in dark green and cream, and the other one in dark green and a beige. I didn’t notice how similar the color schemes were until my sister was visiting for Labor Day weekend and I was showing her!
I love the Una and really want to try drops air! The pinks are gorgeous though. I totally would be tempted to just knit with them too haha. Love the hat and the shawl is pretty too. Visiting Arizona is on my bucket list! I’ve been loving worsted so that’s my vote.
