Jay Im sure mixing techniques have changed and there has been a big switch from analog to digital recording/mixing processes, but if anything, analog recording/mixing will always sound more accurate/natural than digital and studio quality sourced audio will always sound better than what youtube can provide. So yeah, there is a really big difference, mostly on youtube's end. It's also probably easier for UKF to get their hands on .flac or .wav recordings now too than say 5 years ago because of their size/influence, so the files going into youtube are already starting out higher than they might originally have.
