I think horror in movies has kinda lost it's actual meaning at this point. We're used to jump scares. We kinda expect them. And sometimes they really work well. But we're used to it. Even the v!olence, we are used to it. In non horror and in the horror genre.
The Terrifier series, like you said, is actually horrifying and sad!stic. This is a character who is pure evil. And very obviously LOVES doing what he does to people. Jason and Michael Meyers are pretty cold k!llers. Jig Saw is cold. His motivation is also, obviously not ok, but it's understandable. Freddy and Chucky obviously have fun k!ling, but not to the level Art does.
It's great to see filmmakers actually being bold and trying new things to kinda reignite some life (or death) into the genre. There's nothing wrong with sticking to a tried and true recipe, but sometimes it's also good to try to make it better.

I 100% agree about film makers being bold and doing something different which is why I actually give some respect to Terrifier for finding its niche and being bold. I am more of a fan of “elevated horror” over slashers but I will say that Terrifier 3 was a good time. I understand that they’re not for everyone but those who love these movies are going to be so excited about this movie.

It is a great story seeing him start this trilogy on such a small budget which has now lead to such a cult classic hit. • @psychonautsupreme189

honestly, we needed art to break the boundaries of horror villains, there is a never-ending amount of content romanticizing slashers. Horror is meant to instill fear, good examples being the thing, exorcism, sinister and any film that doesn't humanize the villain. Slashers in films needed that sharp edge (no pun intended) in order to bring a sense of horror back into the franchise. The ambiguity of arts character, as well as the purpose he serves, leave little to no room of humanizing his character other than the comedic moments. Damiene Leone has mastered the way of making a Slasher horror, by quite literally introducing the true embodiment of Evil, as the kills show how truly depraved the concept of Evil

The msin factor for more than that will be story... theres gotta be some better story elements after this third one. Appreciating pushing the boundary. enjoying these movies doesn't indicate anything about you as a person. This type of thinking your portraying is why the world is getting softer imo.

Very similar to 1 and 2 in terms of violence with a lot of torture. The third act was one of the most gruesome scenes I have seen in this series. Pretty much all the deaths in the third one look really painful. The theatre I saw Terrifier 3 in was quite large with loud speakers so that made everything so much more enhanced too.

@@kaneeddy Definitely watching with my support worker on the 11th or 12th I put number 1 on for my Dad but he said turn it off during the hacksaw part it was to much for him so definitely not worth watching number 3 with my Dad because he will literally run out but my support worker loves terrifier 1 and 2 so definitely looking forward to 3 thanks for replying

No problem happy to help!! Your dad will not like the third one either (which is totally understandable) but you and your support worker will have a blast haha.

Wow chill there bandwagon fanboy this movie is way overhyped lol. The Substance was 10 times more twisted than this lame puppy

Who was making a comparison to The Substance? If you knew what you were talking about you would see that I gave that movie a higher rating than Terrifier 3. Also idk how liking a movie you see once not that long ago and saying that you thought it was decent while making some criticisms makes you a bandwagon fanboy but ok buddy haha. So lame.
