- Here is my 2020 TRD Camry where I had a shop delete the resonator that’s in the middle of the exhaust system and it made this thing sound incredible. It also pops too when downshifting or slowing down.

I want to do the same to my 2022 TRD. I got the Calvary blue one back in November. Did you have your check engine light come on or anything that may be concerning happen? One of the reasons i like Toyota so much is the maintenance warranty that comes with the car. I’m on my 5th Camry now since buying a 2001 Solara way back in the day. Love how it sounds! ✌🏻
Congrats on the car man btw, I had no check engine lights come on since the Catalytic Converters are there.
I only deleted one resonator from under the car and everything else is still stock.
How long did you wait for the 22 Trd?

No you’ll only get a CEL for removing the cats not the resonators or mufflers
To me it sounds pretty horrible. But! There’s always trial and error when messing with the exhaust. If you like it, you like it. A good custom exhaust set up would be keep one resonator, and upgrade the mufflers.
Agreed. I don't think anything under an 8 cylinder should really be deleting resonators (even then i still not a huge fan of the sound on v8's). But 4/6 cylinder always sound tin can/weedwhacker-ish with the resonators deleted.
I have a 16 accord touring V6 w a borla axleback. Sounds very similar in the high rev range. Nice.

Borla always sounds good. I even got a axle back on my rolla and it's perfect.
It sounds good for racing, but daily driving a bit too loud for my taste. I say put in a performance resonator and it'll sound just as loud but better. I installed in replace of my suitcase mufflers in my SRT with dynomaxx mufflers/resonators and it still sounds stock but louder. Basically the volume been jacked up. 😅
But u got a nice ride, my daughter in law has one in white. 😎👍

Personally I’d prefer an actual cat-back with properly tuned mufflers and resonators. I use to like resonator deletes, but it just makes it raspy and doesn’t give off an actual exhaust note. On the other hand I’m old

To be fair, the TRD exhaust is already tuned from the factory. While a res delete does change that a bit, it’s still technically tuned.

Now that sounds sexy. Personal, I think resonator delete with a red axle back exhaust makes it sounds so good. I have a lifted Scion xB, with a red sport muffler and a cherry bomb glass pack we’re my oem resonator was. It sounds so good

Swap the mid resonators with vibrant resonators! I did this on my 08 G35 paired with my HKS axle back exhaust and the sound is exotic but deep with absolutely 0 rasp or drone.

The engine sounds incredible with the resonator deleted. There are some complaining it's "too loud", a middle ground solution will be a pipe that can optionally bypass the resonator when you are at WOT or when you choose to.
Is it alright to delete both resonators? And would it make a difference. I have the big one in the middle deleted already and want it louder but don’t wanna get rid of mufflers.

Trd camrys are cool except i hate that they have the same headlight and tailight makeup as the LE trim why cant they have the cooler designed ones like the XLE and XSE

Hey man, I have the same exact car I purchased back in february. Its 22 trd black. I think the exhaust is a little too quiet for me and was thinking about getting the middle res deleted but am on the fence. Main concern is droning on the highway. Is there any? I know the stock trd doesn't drone at all and want there to be as minimal droning as possible. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I just got a 2020 Camry TRD and would loveee to make it louder and was curious if you had any drop off in HP or had to get a tune bc of the change, kinda new to cars and really would love to do this but had just a couple questions
No, if anything it just makes your car louder and breathe a bit better I suppose, I did not tune my car either after this it’s still the same to this day.
You can tune the car if you want too, but I have not
Honestly, spend the 6k and get a turbo installed. I'm waiting on D3 Performance to buy their kit. The resonator delete makes the car sound better in my opinion but many don't like it. Also tune the car and you will love it more.

All I did was a mid resonator delete it’s the biggest resonator on the car. That’s all I have done
For better deeper and a bit less raspy sound to compliment the red exhaust, get a 23” length that has 3” larger pipe bottle shape cherry bomb glass pack, and ur set
How long does it take? And what do they replace the resonator with? Just a regular pipe?
It took like 15-20 min, they weld a pipe in the place of the resonator

I liked the stock exhaust but it defn needs to breathe. There could have been better ways to do it but I chose this way after doing some research and honestly there is no drone so I can’t really complain 🤷🏽♂️
Will deleting void warrenty?
So there are Separate warranties for each thing, so doing this will likely Void the Exhaust Warranty. However if anything happens to your exhaust, they have to be able to say that the resonator delete caused your exhaust to fail otherwise your warranty will still be valid

I don’t know exact wheel horsepower I have never dyno’d my car. However they come with 301 wheel horsepower and 267lb ft of torque.

It's not illegal to delete resonators or mufflers it's just illegal to not run a catalytic converter in states like California.
