In this video we venture around Chinatown - one of the largest food hub's right here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur! Malaysia is filled with many cultures and cuisines and we get totally stuck into a wide variety of food and flavours! We didn't know Malaysia had flavours like this!
We were amazed at all we could find and the friendly faces that greeted us. To meet people that have honed their crafts over decades was an honour. We really got to to experience the mix of Indian, Chinese and Malay cuisines that is present here in Malaysia!
Here is a little bit about us:

I hope the 2nd or 3rd generation knows how to make the food after the old folks are gone. Not just sell but make them from scratch.
Yes definitely 🥰
Bean curd (Tau Foo Fah) is a favourite - especially for breaking fast during the fasting month. You should scoop it together with the caramel (palm sugar caramel) as the bean curd itself is tasteless if not a bit bitter. It's supposed to soothe and improve digestion. Great content guys.
Ah yes thank you so much 🥰
You both are such a lovely couple. I really enjoy watching your videos. Please have fun in Malaysia. Welcome to Malaysia…
Thank you so much! 🥰

*WELCOME TO MALAYSIA ENJOYED 🇲🇾❤️💙💛🧡🥰😎🤝😎🥰🧡💛💙💙🇲🇾
I grew up near Petaling Street and all the foods just taste great.
So good!🤗
The Ali Muthu Ah Hock restaurant is near to an old post office (which is across the building) and old police station where I used to live in the 70s. I just visited the place this week and the memories on my childhood days there with my deceased parents and my brothers kept flowing.
Wow thank you for sharing! So happy you could revisit a place with so many memories 🤗
Thanks for traveling to Malaysia 😊
Hi Shev & Dev!
Azam here! So glad that i met both of u today at the Roti Canai Special in Selangor Mansion!
There are too many great and delicious food spots for you to hunt in KL.
But one thing for sure, if u are looking for the best teh tarik in town, look no other than the place that u had them earlier today.
Good luck to both of you! Have a safe journey during your stay in Malaysia and should you need any help, u can always look for me at the same spot where we met today!
Adieu!
I like raining sometimes because it keeps the weather cooler.
Shev and Dev, watching your channel brings to life how my parents traveled all over the world and experience the culture and food. Thanks for sharing your travel experience with all your viewers. Be safe.
Thank you so much Ryan! 🥰
Your kidney will go bad if you adding soy sauce to every dish you take. In Malaysia, mostly every dish is already spiced up with just the right amount of saltiness, sweetness or spiciness. Try the original taste first before adding anything into it. And we usually separate the chilies/garlic/soy sauce into sauce plate.
the food trip is so amazing, mixed of different variety taste of chinese, malay & asian country, seems the food there is really good, nice sharing love it..
Thank you so much for watching 😍✨
Good to see that most locals in Malaysia can speak in English just like common people in the Philippines.
Any way the soy bean curd is like a filipino delicacy called "Taho" which is usually sold in the morning.
Yes so true! We thought about Taho at that time 😬✨
Its available all over Southeast Asia. It originates from China and has evolved in many ways.
Thanks you so much guys for this remarkable video in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia with delicious foods, skyscrapers, hotels, malls, restaurants, etc. in 2022!
Thank you too! Glad you enjoyed this one 🤗
Thanks you guys so much for this remarkable video from Malaysia in 2022.I am glad that you guys from South Africa shootings a great videos in 2022!
You guys a cute couple omg😍 welcome to Malaysia 🇲🇾
Aw thank you! And thanks for watching 🥰
Amazing, you found Shin Kee Beef noodles. That place is old....dates back to more than 30 years old. You should try the 100 year old pastry shop in Petaling Street known as "Fung Wong" - they moved to the new premises just 30 metres away from the old one near the "Apam Balik" uncle.
Ah thank you for the recommendations! The noodles were amazing 😍
@@ShevandDev beef noodles in that vicinity is sometimes a "local controversy". Some prefer the shop opposite , in "lai foong", or even the one nearer the masjid jamek lrt station - "Soong kee". Anyways, there are a lot of hidden eats around Chinatown which has been there for more than 40 years...even some in the famed "Madras lane". You can also try the unnamed hidden "Pau stall" which has made Pau the traditional way for several generations. The location is only spread by word of mouth..and because of its unassuming shop look from outside, hard for me to tell the location.....
Maybe when you back to South Africa you can make a video about Malay in Cape Town. Just wonder how they life in the, they food , what the do for living etc
Yes definitely! 🥰
Hahahaha... I just went to Muthu Ali shop this morning. Very comfortable place with delicious local cuisine. The next shop which is call Old China Cafe is also one of the best restaurant sells Nyonya food. Go try it out. Make sure you order the Sago Gula Melaka (brown sugar pudding 🤔, something like that) very very good.
Have just come across your UA-cam channel, and I’m hooked on your videos! Malaysia looks so cool!
Pan cakes at the start looked devine,,,a beautiful video again Shev and Dev,,,peace and happiness as always on your travels
Yay so glad to hear that! Thank you 🥰
Malaysia is one of my favourite food country! I honestly not a big fan of the tourist attractions, but I would come to Malaysia just for the food!!
100%! The food is to die for 😍😍
That rain reminds me visiting my sister when she lived in Singapore!😂☔ All of the food looked yummy, but the one I wish I could try is the peanut pancake.
Yes we couldn’t believe how quickly the weather changed! Haha that peanut pancake was too good! We could eat atleast 7 of them! We miss you and hope you can visit Malaysia too! 😍🤩✨
Visit malaysia.. food paradise...
I lived in Malaysia, and yess that's is all time favorite!! It's so delicious. And it's call "Apam Balik"
It’s one of my fav snacks!! Apam balik
@@drfza0704 Thank you for telling me the name of it!
The waiting is over.. Good vibes time after work.. Have a nice day shev and Dev.. God bless
Yay! Thank you so much Conrado 🥰
The peanut rice ball is similar with Japanese mochi, it’s made of glutinous rice flour, this is the Chinese version.
Shev and Dev thank you for sight seeing Tour at Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia China Town .It's has many different food .GOD Bless Stay safeout there
Thank you so much for watching Eduardo 🥰
You guys make me drooling...
You guys rock! Love the videos! Thank you for giving me some corporate down time and relaxation. Bless you both.
My favorite coconut pancake stall, I finish five piecesin one time, Must try the yam pastry ,egg tart and char siew tart at the yellow shop in Ghost street petaling street.
They must be scrumptious. My mouth was salivating with all those food. Be safe guys. Enjoy.
Aw thank you Cris! We hope you got some really good snacks afterwards hehe 🥰😬🍿
The videos are amazing! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed it 🥰🙏
I screamed when you poured soy sauce over the mee goreng.
Mee goreng doesn't need additional soy sauce. For soupy dishes however, u can get mini sauce dish, put chilli sauce or cut chilli + some soy sauce. dip your noodles in the sauce.
You can tell we still have lots to learn 🤣
The lovely Shev and Dev always creating interesting content good to watch....safe travels hope for more contents
Aw thank you so much! 😍
Hiya Shev and Dev, Ok. I am hungry now. 😆Love the buzz of China Town.
Love. The street art. The bean curd looked like Panna cotta. All the food looked delicious.
Shev, you look gorgeous with your hair pinned up.
Always good vibes. Liked and always shared. Have a great day.
My favourite snacks whenever I pass by Chinatown. As for the soya bean I opt for mixture of the hot bean curd with the cold soya bean juice
Its starting to rain a bit more now because its getting closer to the monsoon season which starts in late September. So be prepared for an afternoon shower.
Yes we noticed that too, we like the afternoon showers haha😍
Sudden of raining and extreme hot alternatively, that's reason a lot of mall in KL 😅
Awesome content. thank you for sharing. have a nice day!❤👍
Thank you! You too!🥰🙏
The mee goreng muah chee (peanut coated balls) looks good
It was fantastic! Really enjoyed them both 🥰
You should try "nasi kerabu" at Kelantan, Malaysia
Hi Shev & Dev, welcome to Malaysia. There are plenty of yummy and delicious food you can try here. Do enjoy your stay and all the good food. Don't forget to try Durian ya. Cheers

Looking forward to the next video on durian. Enjoy 😁
My favourite dessert tAufufah ( bean curd with palm sugar )
Nice video guys, love it, enjoy 👍😘🇲🇾❤️
Thank you for watching Jay 🥰✨
For your consideration guys, try not to add soy sauce before trying out those foods, try it as original as they are to taste its authenticity then add soy sauce afterwards as you wish.
Thank you! We will do that 🥰🙏
Omg the noodle dish looks amazing now im hungry.
It was by far the tastiest noodle dish we’ve had 😍😍
Wow another awesome video. My bucklist is growing.
Yay! Glad to hear that 🥰
The end of the video reminds me of the rain that we had on September 3rd. And what is coming on September 4th. I always carry an umbrella in with my other work stuff. Oh! Your Kelly case came in handy during the rain. Look at it this way; at least it wasn’t freezing rain. That would not be fun.
Haha that’s so true! Our Calicase is always finding new ways to make itself useful haha! 😬👏
I met you and ask for a picture with you during this vlog (Cheska from ph). Sooo happy happy to see youuuuuu
Hi Cheska! It was so lovely to meet you that day! We hope you enjoy your time in Malaysia! Take care 🥰❤️
Shev & Dev, you have eaten one of the famous mince beef noodles in Kuala Lumpur.
Their dry soya mixed mince beef noodle tastes much better.
We Malaysian called it Apam balik
You guys should go to Ho Kow Hainan Kopitiam (same row next to Ali, Muthu & Ah Hock). You can get authentic nasi lemak, soft boiled eggs, roasted bread (roti bakar) with kaya butter & etc. The only cons are super long Q to wait for your turn to enjoy the local foods.
17:35- Malaysia weather 🤣 Tropical weather! Everyone chicken run! 🏃♂🏃♀
Watching Food video during this time near midnight.. i pretty sure I will get hungry after this..
Oh yes! We hope you have your snacks! Hehe 😬🍿
Wow James Bond is so good at cooking his pancakes! They looked delicious 😍The Men Goreng Muthu looked ssooooo good wow! Our mouths are watering lol. It rains 200 days if the year?! that's crazy!

Many foreigners tend to pronounce Petaling based on the word "Petal". The correct pronunciation is per-tah-ling
Ah thank you for letting us know 🥰🙏

You guys are too funny...you won't melt in rain, and in tropical climates it's not even cold. 🤣
The bald guy at the back wearing black shirt I think he is Malaysian Rapper singer . his name is ALTIMET . 7:01
Shev & Dev, what city in South Africa are you guys currently living in 2022?
