Hi! I love coming back to this video and seeing what you do with your family records. I've had everything online for a few years but just now trying to delve into creating a physical collection (it's a bit daunting haha). It's also great to hear from an Australian perspective - it seems all genealogy content online is from the US or UK. Would love to see an online tour of your tree and how you organise things!
Aw thank you!! Definitely agree that it can be daunting to get started - just getting started on doing one branch was a bit overwhelming, and even now I’m in the process of revamping things while also trying to compile smaller booklets for family, so it feels like a LOT of work. I definitely want to redo this tour with my updates, as well as how I’ve organised my digital collection & even a look at how I use my ancestry tree - on my to-do list for 2025! In the meantime, I try & share bits on my socials where I can ☺️
UA-cam must have been reading my mind! I'm just about to start culling and re-ordering my folders of information, so this video was very timely. Very impressed with your record charts and about to purchase your bundle.
Victoria, please please, make a video showing us how you made your newspaper clippings. You included the name of the newspaper from the front page of the newspaper. I love how you did it. I tried doing it but I give up. I can't get the scale right. Make a video. Thank you in advance.
Your folders are amazing.😍 I only have two folders. One represents my great-grandmother, the other my great-grandfather. I then climbed up the families to my great-great-great-grandparents and possible their siblings. If there was something exciting, even further.
Hello cousin! How wonderful it was to come across your video this morning. Mary Hipwell is my 4x great grandmother. I'm related through her first child Edward with Richard Reynolds. I really enjoyed seeing how you present your tree in book/folder form, something I'm always working on too...cheers...
I’ve got two different family group sheets available as digital downloads on my website, both the one featured in the video and another I’ve made since then.
This is incredible- so much love has been put into collecting and presenting your wonderful family. Question: How do you preserve photos? I didn't see any in your binders that you shared.
Photos are still a work in progress! I inherited like a million & one from my maternal grandparents, and recently had a paternal aunt give me a stack, so I’m still working my way through spurting them. All photos are digitised and I’ve shared them with family via USB or our family Facebook groups, as well as sharing a few reprints with family. My goal with the binders is to include reprints of wedding, military & headstone photos, and any that are of particular interest for that person. The rest of the originals will be stored in family/branch boxes/albums that can still be easily shared with the relevant family members.
A lot of patience with word and taking inspiration from a few different sheets I’d seen floating around online. I’ve actually created a new family group sheep since this video as well. This first one is available on my website
Once you extract the group record document from the zip file, you should just be able to start typing your information into the fields. If you need help, feel free to email me - justmevictoria@outlook.com
So what do you do when you want to move on from the 4 or 5 generation you have in your color binder? Do you get the same color binder and just continue and mark it book 2?
On the sheet you list them in birth order. Whether you want to continue researching down each line on their own sheets is up to you. But you’d continue to display them in birth
@tiaramathias1882 the group record paper? I have a digital download bundle available on my website with a bunch of helpful documents. The link is in my bio.

Hello cousin!
I am in Us but love the forms you used which I can use for my family so gonna go check out other videos to see what I can use in the US, thanks
Lots of work done! Good job!
Thanks ☺️
For the family group sheet, did you make it yourself or get it somewhere? If so I'd love to have a copy for myself.

@@JustMeVictoria_ Thank you- that’s what I am doing, just thought there were other ways to keep them. Love your ideas!
Can we have an update please? I'd love to see more, ive bought the pack online but would love to see any more lines
I am currently in the process of updating my folders, so will definitely do an update once I’ve finished a folder or two (not sure when tho!)
@@JustMeVictoria_ amazing thank you! I’ll look forward to it!
Love it how did you create your family group sheet

I downloaded the Australian Bundle. How do I copy a blank form from the bundle into my ancestry document so I can then fill it in?

Yep, exactly! And I mark which lines continue in the second binder so it’s easy to follow
if i use a family group sheet do i need toi start with the older child and work my way down to the last child or does it matter?
On the sheet you list them in birth order. Whether you want to continue researching down each line on their own sheets is up to you. But you’d continue to display them in birth
where can i get a copy of the paper you put on your folder that you recommended

Where did you get information sheet from I am from uk
The family group record sheet? I created it myself - you can find it in my genealogy document bundle on my website 😊
