Hilarious! The year I did Huffmaster, I dropped back just a little to take a photo and couldn't catch back on at EXACTLY the same spot you did (crazy headwind). :)
Yeah. I thought I didn't have to pay attention for another few miles, but I lost track as we were pushing through the earlier group. Lesson learned.
Flipping awesome effort mate!! Well done huge achievement!!
Fastest 90 miles I've done!
Νice route Zach! Cool Grasshopper sign! It seems you are good in ...housekeeping. Stay young, keep us motivated!
I had a lot of practice at Rock Cobbler.
Great video and discussion on the future Sites dam. Good to talk to you by the beer booth. I was trying to buy a ticket and a kind soul gave his.
Great to see you again Mark. I hope to be out in September for Lassen.
Nice video! I remember hearing you ask the Specialized folks for that extra Sram battery! I'm standing in front of the table while you call it out!
Sorry to make it sound like I was coming into a triage center.
New subscriber and been really liking the content. I enjoyed this video since it is my home county and there is also a lot of past videos where I know the area. I travel a lot in CA and the Bakersfield episode showed me Tin Cup Coffee, not far from my hotel, so it is my new stop when there for work. So, thanks
Great. I keep trying to expand across the state!!
Nice job, Zach! Your videos are always in my "must-watch" category. Cheers!
Thanks. It's definitely not "must-listen" with my voice.
@@GravelBikeCalifornia You do a good damn good job with that part, too.
Deadly mechanical on that climb!!
Lesson learned to take another battery...
I have to say yours video making me feel enjoying
Glad they have entertainment value.
Nice overview video. It was questionable if it would rain too much even a few days before the ride. Last year with rain and snow the Huffmaster road was peanut butter mud and pretty much unridable. This is a pretty easy course. I used 32c slicks and did fine, and they don't collect mud the way knobby tires do.
Agreed. I'd go skinnier on tires next time.
I wish the short course did that first dirt section. The current short course has, IMHO, a harder road climb.
Definitely more of a grade. I wonder what'll be like after the dam...
Aren't Rutlands a little slow and knobby? Wouldn't the faster and better choice, especially on that bike be the Mezcal 44mm or the faster and lighter 50mm Continental Race Kings?
Probably a little knobbier than I needed, but I wouldn't have gone bigger than 38s. I think 35s or 32s could have worked.
