Sickening. As a white South African direct-descendant of 2 British Citizens, I have to pay an exorbitant amount for a VISA just for a holiday in the UK. When I arrive at Heathrow, I am put through the 3rd degree by some unfriendly, dour and suspicious "official" demanding I prove I have enough money to spend while in the UK, must present a return ticket, give verifiable addresses and phone number/s of where I will be staying etc. Next time, I'll just jump on a dingy and get treated like royalty, escorted into the UK by the Border Force and then given free accommodation, food and amenities until I eventually get my "refugee" status and permanent residence permit.

I am English born but adopted in SA. My kids both have Brit passports through me. My granddaughter can only get her ancestral visa through me at 18 because my son was not born in the UK. My kids father is South African (with no close ties to Ancestral lands although I do not believe it should be an issue if people without any ties, incl no ancestral ties, to the lands have an open door) just had to sign a letter giving his approval of my kids getting their Brit passports. We are divorced, but even if married, he needs to approve because I could take them out the country with those passports easily. No visas required.

Being an immigrant myself for a while actually made me harder of migrants. When I set up shop in my new country I instinctively wanted to go out, get a job and contribute to society so I could meet new people and explore this new culture. It is certainly government policy to take ages to interview all who arrive in the UK. If they have passport/ID papers it obvioulsy takes minutes to do but it is an internationally binding legal requirement that all arrivals have the opportunity to present papers so it is the fault of the UK government for not having sufficient staff available for interviews.

I was on a beach having a BBQ on the South Coast nowhere near Kent. It got dark and we noticed 2 4x4 vehicles pull up over by the jetty, they got out and spoke arabic. Unusual where we were. Later a light came along by the end of the jetty - a boat. About 40 men came off the boat and rather than walking on the jetty in the dark, they walked under it and then all disappeared. Two men then came out of the bushes further down from us and walked towards where they were coming off the boat and as they passed by they were not British. V. Interesting. Recently I watched The 13 Hours that Saved Britain - now Im watching the time we gave it away again!
