Now *THIS* was the f’n lineup. No one else came close to this back then. Just look at little Chucky Biscuits go…
@@mrroofishYep. Wrote and co-wrote some of my favorites. This one, Unknown, Last Night, Rent a Riot… lots of great stuff. I still have my Floorlords record too.
When i see D.O.A. '81, i click! My favorite band from my youth (well, DK's,BLACK FLAG,FLIPPER...), they were one of my first encounters with hardcore in socialist Yugoslavia, thanx to Don who came from Toronto to our shithole (we call it home),he educated us, made fanzines, bands,we went to Ljubljana/Slovenia to see bands. What about the band DEAD END ,also from Canada? Love them too
I saw they 2 months after this July 4th 1981....EPIC show
Holy crap. Never saw them in NY with Biscuits. What a monster back there.
Meee neither !!!! :/ Biscuits is the greatest !!!! The first time I saw him live was a year later at Great Guildersleeves with the Circle Jerks !!!!
@@giggie he was a great drummer, but Lucky Lehrer was better and fit the Jerks way better. they were never the same without that first rhythm section.
@@DaveAnchoviesI agree that Lucky was a better fit for them, and is without a doubt one of the top 3 punk/hardcore drummers of all time, but I’m not so sure about “better”. In the same league, yes. I’ve always maintained that the holy trinity of punk rock drummers is Biscuits, Lucky, and Rat Scabies.
That friend of a friend who found this tape in a dumpster is fucking awesome. Cheers Mr. D.O.A. video finding in a dumpster guy!
This is so great! I’ve never seen this before. Such gold! Sounds like Chuck blows the bottom snare head before 2+2. Not sure but that’s what it sounds like. What a great lineup… fuckin brilliant!
My favourite band. I fucking love D.O.A
What a gem ! Still kicks ass after 40 years! Thanx for uploading punk rock history
The best line up and the first record i ever bought from Alternative Tentacles (POSITIVELY D.O.A.),i got some badges as gift too. Great times. These Peppermint lounge recordings are all high quality
I saw this line up in San Francisco and San Jose back then. They were SO GREAT! Much respect.
Always love these old recordings. Brings back such memories. Kids don't know shit nowadays music is so manufacted and weak. Superb upload
I 100% agree with you dude. Some people don't even know who John Lennon is nowadays
My past relived - thanks for the upload: D.O.A. paved they way (with DK and Black Flag) for bands to have a gig venue to play in. Respect the past.
I love this.
Played that club with Oh-OK back in the day with Pylon
Wow it’s a great recording too! Thank you for posting!!
this is incredible, biscuits is wild
Wow!! Another great video, DOA kick ass!!!

..daaamn! DOA was gettin' down!..
AMAZING!
Awesome channel. This rips!
Rad! Thanks for posting
So damn good.
*FUCKING AWESOME. Perhaps the rest of the set is on another tape? This only part of their set, DOA never just played for 16 minutes. Plus if the date is correct Hardcore '81 had just been released a month earlier. Hard to believe they wouldn't play any songs to promote it. Thank you for this upload!!!!*
Posters of Hardcore '81 are visible in the background of this video.
I talked to Rampage on the bus the day before he died RIP.
Love doa

Where was this magical dumpster?
Not sure. I would assume it was in NYC, however I got access to the tape in Memphis.
@@hausofwheat You've done a great thing by posting these. I would even call it important.
What's going on with Randy's mullet in the back.

Awesome footage!
Nobody could touch these guys in 81, the best!
Absolutely awesome 😎
You are absolutely correct shows were the best. First time I saw them was Opening for X at the Starwood and many times after. One of my first punk gigs and going in as a fan of both bands at the time my 14 year old mind was blown and this lead to the next 3 years or so of great prime time gigs in LA and OC. Joey told me David Lee Roth was at the Starwood Gig and front of stage during their set. The energy at their shows was amazing. RIP Randy Rampage.
@@socalskateshop Joey relayed what I’m assuming is the same story (of DLR being front and center at their L.A. gig) one night when I was talking to him some time in the mid 90’s. I remember him telling me that they hung out with Diamond Dave later on in the parking lot, and Bob Montgomery (Biscuits’ other brother, and then road manager for DOA) got Dave in a half-nelson and told him he had better give them one of his famous “WAAA-OO!”’s or else he wasn’t going to let him go. Joe then said that Roth let out the most pathetic little “yelp” ever. I’m sure you probably had to be there, but the way he told the story was really funny.
And Chuck on drums
