Very nice! I have given this some more thought. I think playing by ear involves some fumbling around, but what you really need is the the ear to know when you have got it right.

If I am not wrong, the "Introduction" that you called is not Flute but Duduk, (Armenian instrument). It has more sadness -soul than flute, ofcourse flute is versatile for any mood.

Though it is difficult to describe, but yes, I can understand when you try explaining to 'play by ears' I do play not very fluent, but what I play is learned by ear. Have no knowledge of sur, swar, etc etc. No music lessons. So for all those who wish to play bansuri-flute the more they listen and practice with patience they will produce the correct tune. i dont knw how you play it...i seems really difficult to play through ur fingers.....blowing is easy....but i guess it wont make any tune unless you use ur fingures....i bought a bansuri yesterday for just 20 rupees...such a cheap music inrstument i ever bought....help me ...mughe baajana he it makes beautiful sound!

Neera Shrestha There are so many different renditions, I wouldn’t know which one you mean. Also, they tend to be just a repetition of the same two lines over and over.

There are places on the web for basic lessons. I will post the links for you. I am no teacher. But I will show you what I have learnt by myself.
