This line had "the sound." Watched and listened to about 20 clean lines that day. CLEAN lines... and then I sat down in the lot and my jaw dropped. It's not just that they sounded cleaner, but every note, perfectly in time, went straight into your soul.

As a Bluecoats Bass Drum alum, I LOVE this video!!! Takes me back to never ending rehearsal blocks, back pain, hot days, hard gym floors, giant bugs, and I miss it all. So happy to see an awesome continuation of the Bluecoats family. Yeah Bass- keep rockin! Love you all. Clean Beats. 6 words.
So happy you enjoyed the video! I know Coats are big on the family vibe so I'll tell John you commented! (This is Mark Perrett commenting, and John Lluvera is the current Bass Tech at Coats.)
This is absolutely the best 'Day With' production I have seen. Variety of angles and perspectives, great explanations, wonderful video and sound quality, and even down to the time stamps and segment descriptions. I can't imagine how much time and work went into perfecting this upload. Thank you!
So proud of you dude, crazy watching you on the come up at Petal, the hours put in, your influence on the gram, and finally making your dream corps. Keep going and spreading the greatness lifestyle, you're a real one.
@@DatGuyWithNoName muscle memory, when they're this late into the season they know exactly where they have to go. even when theyre distracted by their drum falling off their muscle memory kicks in and they just follow along like they normally would if they were playing
i feel like mark would be such a funny and chill drum tech, he’d get along amazingly with my tech. both are literaly so chill, talk the same, act the same, groove over these beats, it’s so fun bro😂
Likely an unpopular opinion here...as impressive as everything everyone on the field is doing, especially those behind the keyboard (the writing is off the chart, especially during that keyboard groove in the 3/4 segment in Movement 2, and as for the performers themselves...nailing that triple lateral, god*dang*), the sounds and energy electronics bring to the table always seem to catch my attention, and the Bluecoats handle it the best out of any corps. Most notably, the part played on the malletStation at 33:10 which sounds like a glockenspiel/string hybrid, and Suvin's vocal patch above everything the keyboards are doing in 5-piece band--they're such unique sounds compared to anything else on the field, and the balance here makes me able to appreciate the digitalized sounds a bit more. Electronics and simulated sounds or not, this was an amazing production, and a great insight to what the world of DCI rehearsal is like--and what makes the Bluecoats the best corps all around. Awesome job, to both all the performers and you guys for putting it together, I enjoyed watching it!
Thanks so much for this! I’m a high school trumpeter (junior) and idk much about drumline, so watching these videos really gives me an insight on how much work all these guys and 1 and girl put in! Can’t wait for 2021!
After watching this It just inspires me more and motivates me more to want to do Blue Coats and DCI and Broken City it makes me want to pursue drumming even more for a Looooooonnnngggggg time.
The reference to the cadence “Spider” is incorrect. The arrangements most known were indeed written by Al Murray, but the original composition was created by Ken Watts and Jack Starling in, I believe, 1981.
It's 12.48 am in Indonesia and after watching this i feel like im going to have a nice dream about it! and one more thing... am i the only Indonesian who watch this? anyway shoutout to The Bluecoats for a performance people will never forget about! and to Mark for this amazing video! much love from Indonesia!
Yeah, at this point in the season they had a "Tilt" throwback pitch bend at the end of the show, (And it was bad ass!!) but it was taken out. Not sure exactly why, but it could be they didn't get enough reaction/credit for it and changed it to something they thought would be a better final product. If anyone knows for sure, comment!
we went through about 3-4 different transitions with the pitch bend before the designers just didn't feel that it was a perfect fit for what the show needed there. they wanted it to feel as if the "competitive show" really ended after the She's So Heavy portion of the show and for Hey Jude to just be an "encore" for the audience and judges to enjoy, so that's why they added the "ladies and gentlemen, once again, The Bluecoats" instead! hope this helps!

43:04 look at Bluecoats using a Pearl MalletStation. Guess Yamaha will come out with their own version, can't having their groups using the competition.
