It took awhile to prep and paint this porch, but it seems to have turned out well.

I've used Benjamin Moore's primers for several years, primarily their Fresh Start Moorwhite 100 long oil primer. One side of my house receives a lot of direct sunlight, and I constantly had to repaint it every few years when I used typical oil-based primers found in stores. After applying Fresh Start Moorwhite then painting that side of the house with the paint I'd always used, it looks as good now as it did when I painted it 5 years ago. However, Moorwhite 100 is not a walkable primer, so it's not recommended to be used on porches and decks.
The primers recommended for the Benjamin Moore Floor & Patio paint used on this porch are Fresh Start Multi-Purpose Latex Primer (F023) or Fresh Start High-Hiding All Purpose Primer (K046). I'd already applied Fresh Start 094 in anticipation of using a different paint before I settled on BM Floor and Patio. Fortunately, Benjamin Moore's tech support gave me the ok to paint on top of Fresh Start 094.

I appreciate your comment about using a more spendy paint… I was skeptical before but did a shed last year with some relatively expensive Benjamin Moore and I was very impressed with it.

Yes, I thought the same. I used to paint one side of my house about every three years. I used BM Moorwhite primer when I repainted five years ago - still looks good.

That green tape combined with the old blue paint is very Seahawks-like 🏈

Thanks! I was happy with how this porch turned out. More importantly, it still looks good two years later.

That looks like a very high quality job. I appreciate you talking about the mistakes too. Cool instagram content where it all just goes perfectly and looks awesome is great and all..... but I've never had a job go like that 😀 Talking about the mistakes helps those that watch you avoid them and I got some good reinforcement. Again, awesome work that I hope you'll feel very proud of and your relative enjoys very much!
