  • Let's find out what a maximum of 300 Euros/month can get you in Romania when it comes to renting an apartment.
We're looking at apartments for rent in Bucharest, Brasov and Timisoara, but also the smaller city of Drobeta Turnu Severin.
As you will see, the larger cities will offer pretty much the same, while in the small cities you can find similar apartments but for around 20% less. Either way, the prices are really good and the apartments themselves are more than decent.

    9:31 Brasov Rentals
    11:23 Timisoara Rentals

Never really considered Romania as an option before your channel was recommended to me. But your optimism & love for your country shines radiantly. Definitely a consideration now. Keep up the great work!

Thank you! It is indeed a country that should at least be considered - low cost of living, safe, beautiful and friendly people.

    Hello,
Just watched some of your videos. Noticed that the newest is one year ago. You should keep making them.
In the video about rentals you mentioned the smaller city you live in. I got the Robeta part, but not the end of it.
Are apartments rents still about the same?
My plan is to rent an apartment in Romania for 2-3 months as a home base. Then travel in 4-10 day trips around Eastern Europe.
I need to rent a car as well. As I will arrive in Bucarest, I will rent the car there.
Planning on starting the trip in late March to April.
    Thank you for the videos.
    Lawrence

very nice. The Bucharest prices are much cheaper than in most European capitals. Considering Bucharest has a lot of things to do and flights to everywhere, it is a really good option for remote workers! Also Bucharest doesn't seem to be much more expensive than other cities.

It can get pretty chaotic at times, but it would be indeed a really good place for a home base - cheap, close to everything (via air) and really safe too.

Yes! Keep 'em coming! You filmed this before move to cottage? Most washing machines are in the bathroom? Funny about kitchen size! Romania is known for it's cuisine, so how does one prepare such meals in an abnormally small space? Maybe the restaurant owners (pre-pandemic, of course) are pleased that maybe most people are forced to dine out? I know other costs vary, but what would be average extra costs be for say a 300 Euro apartment? (There is maintenance, electricity/gas, water, etc. to be added.) Also, are most pictures current? What may look like a lovely, well-maintained unit online, turns out to be a dirty, unpainted, unfurnished unit in reality. (Maybe that's the sadly cynical American I am?) Enjoyed this video, and noted your large aquaria in the background. Maybe Biggie is playing with his toys in another room.

We still haven't moved back to the village "full time" yet, so still spending most of the time in the city. I filmed the video the day I published it :)
Actually, most Romanians are used to eating at home mostly. You get used to the smaller kitchen in the end :)
Some people, due to the lack of space in the bathroom, will actually have the washing machine installed in the kitchen.
The pictures are definitely current - I never had any unpleasant surprises in this area. Some photos might look better than the real deal, but without editing or such.
Regarding the additional costs, that could be an average of 150 Euros per month for a one bedroom apartment. This could vary based on personal usage (especially electricity), but 150 would be a safe bet.

Timisoara would be my choice. I love the warm colors. We stayed in Brasov at a really nice AirbnB that was in the old center, and the price was really good. It's great to see that the prices are so reasonable still in Romania. Do you think they are lower now because of the virus as we are seeing in Valencia?

    • @RomaniaExperienceVlog
      @RomaniaExperienceVlog  3 роки тому +3

No, the virus had basically no effect on long term rental prices like the ones in the video. Short term rentals (like AirBnbs) have taken a hit and some people even refocused on long term rental for now, but otherwise, I haven't seen a drop in rental prices so far.

@@maverickgood5204 Even though you might find something unique at various local agencies, most of them also list their properties on OLX. So yes, that would be the best place to look at, in my opinion.

For short term rentals, your best bet would still be websites like AirBnb and Booking.com... the usual services generally need a contract of at least 12 months. But you can try contacting people directly by using the website in the video - olx.ro
