I think in the Netherlands we like liquorice possibly even more than the Scandinavians. Candy shops here often sell 30 or 40 variants. We even have liquorice liqueur here, both sweet and salty. (Granted, Finland also has a liquorice liqueur.)

The maple syrup story happened in Quebec. I have travelled all around the world many times and hoteliers, restraunteurs and travel agents hate dealing with Quebecers more than anyone else. They are hard work. I Managed a hotel in Costa Rica and the Manager of the concessions booth in reception told me, "If you have a Quebecer, and you manage to swap him for a dog-turd, you got a good deal!"
ive had salty licorice, my grand parents used to get it all the time, i rather liked it, and we had a rogue ice cream driver who would blast heavy metal music through his PA, and sold more ice cream than any of the other drivers combined every time he was out
re: Sweet Caroline In a 2007 interview, Neil Diamond (at age 66) stated the inspiration for the song was John F. Kennedy's daughter, Caroline, who was 11 years old at the time it was released. I've always thought that was kinda creepy/pervy and consequently cannot listen to that song.
Actually it was just for the name Caroline. The song was about his wife at the time Marcia Murphey, but her name didn't fit with the song, but Neil Diamond had seen a photo of Caroline Kennedy in riding gear with her family. At the time he had seen the photo he thought it was such and innocent and lovely picture that he would write a song about it at some time but he never did. However, when he was writing Sweet Caroline, he just needed a female name. There is absolutely nothing creepy about it at all - he just needed a three syllable female name and there was Caroline Kennedy.
You must be American. Only an American can associate sexuality with children in every single interaction between them and an adult. As if just being affectionate with children in general isn't a human instinct. This ass-backwards attitude is exactly why the US is inhospitable. No heart at all.
nutmeg/honey and hot milk is great for dreaming/sleeping. I used to make it for a friend with cancer - Aleister Crowley recommended it - Chet Baker was also a fan and its rumoured ... to be the base for ecstasy . . myristicin (excuse spelling) ...
I have ACCIDENTALLY snorted a TINY amount of nutmeg (I was just sniffing the bottle) and it was not a pleasant experience. No hallucinations, just a spiced nose for a while
I wish they could post the longer versions cuz apparently they film for about 3 hours and ask way over 20 questions each episode and only a third gets aired
He's probably been watching all the non official uploads and has no sense enough to make the distinction. And then gets even more confused when the XL version gets released. Not really sure what these simpletons are doing watching QI anyway.
the S series was really mssed up by this awful virtual audience idea. It's like hearing noisy neigbours over you tv.... It only added an annoying background noise.
I took a whole box of nutmeg mixed with milk and drank it. I was in Hamilton when I did it and about 5hrs later, came to at Mt mauganui. No idea to this day how I got there.
