Poor Kol. It is always Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah. And then Kol and Finn (but Finn deserves it) are totally side lined. While Finn did honestly constantly betray them, Kol was no worse than Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah but he was still shoved away more often.
I mean Kol was the wildest most wicked mikaelson. Despite Klaus' temper and evilness, Kol was the one known as the wildest original. But once you look at his reasonings and compare his vampire behavior to his human (well, witch but still same difference) behavior you see how Kol was wrecked by vampirism. He loved his magic as a kid. He was a child prodigy, the only one of his siblings to ever learn how to tap into his magic. Becoming a vampire took that away from him. He lost that feeling of rush he got from it. Then Rebekah, Elijah and Klaus made their little pact of always and forever, leaving him alone especially after Finn was permanently daggered. (Not that he liked Finn but still) No doubt he always felt somewhat left out, hence his mischievous personality, but vampirism heightened that. Leading to everything he was doing, being a single loud cry for attention from his siblings. His cons, his mischief were all for that. And that part I can understand well. He wanted his siblings attention no matter the cost. Once he was put in Kaleb's body, he wasn't psychopathic anymore. He was still mischievous but not in a toxic way. Sure he was conspiring to build the golden dagger, but he was doing that as a means of self defense in case Klaus tried to discard or cross him again. So used to being left behind by his family that he built a weapon in case it was to happen again. Meeting Davina and being accepted by his siblings fixed that, so once he was returned to his vampire self, he didn't lash out anymore. That's why I find it insulting to revert him to leaving his family at the drop of the hat in the last season like he doesn't care. It basically reversed all his growth only to make him choose the right way in the final episode and return again. Why would he think that Nik dying was something he wanted after he was accepted by him after a thousand years? They started showing love to each other and suddenly he goes back to wanting him to die? I call bs.
@@HPil58 I meanthe only reason they daggered him was because he wanted to snitch and he despised them but thats no reason to keep him in box for 900 years 🤷🏿♀️
I love both Nate and Daniel as Kol. Nate gives Kol a more edgy, spontaneous, murderer side. Daniel gives Kol a more desperate, emotion, soft side. I used to think Kol was more of a plain character but the combination of both actors give the character more of a 3 dimensional and complex personality. I just wish Kol could've lived longer to see how the whole dynamic of the siblings develop and to see him actually interact with them other than plotting or about to die. I want to see more of the family other than the same Rebekah, Klaus, and Elijiah.
opino igual me gusta DANIEL , pero no es que el cuerpo anterior al estar destruido no podía volver al mismo???? además ÚLTIMO KOL es bruja, Y EL ANTERIOR VAMPIRO de ahí la diferencia.
I kinda agree. I liked Daniel's acting but Nathaniel is the one and only Kol for me. And ofc I would love to see him being w his family more and him bonding w them
“I’m the wronged, I’m the dead but never mourned! And whilst you got everything you ever wanted I got a family who didn’t care if I lived or if I died.” 💔
I think the vampire diaries franchise presented Kol as more of a manipulative, psychotic person with a tendency(as almost everyone in this show lol) to use of force and violence. On The Originals though we've seen the character really unravel, witnessed more than the I'm-a-thousand-year-old-raged-and-impulsive-vampire aspect of him. We got to see Kol just as emotional as all characters have been, in love and maybe a little less cocky. Daniel's job has been amazing in my opinion, keeping the characteristics of the Kol as we first met him in TVD but also giving a bit of himself in the role.
When Daniel Sharman was on teen wolf as Isaac I never thought much of his acting, Dylan O'brien is by far the best actor on that show but now I realise it was the writing and the style of teen wolf, Daniel was never given his time to show himself until The Originals. I'm not usually a Fan of American programmes using British accents because you can never seem to get our accent right but this show has achieved that.
I have been the captain of the Kol Mikaelson defense squad because I could see how broken he really was even if he played it off well i could just tell my baby was hurting
I feel so sorry for Kol. He's always the left out sibling who is trying to avenge himself from his whole family. :( The ones he could mainly trust out of the siblings would probably be Rebekah and maybe Freya. I still haven't watched the whole series, so I wouldn't know.
I don't think Kol was old enough to have met Freya. I think he would've been 1 or younger when Freya was taken by Dhalia. Because Rebekah wasn't alive yet and Kol isn't much older than Rebekah.
@@idontknowwhattocallthis8780 Kol wasn't alive either. Dahlia said "she'd take unborn Elijah too" so Elijah and Klaus weren't even born yet so Kol and Rebekah weren't either
I’m so glad that Kol and Freya do get a good relationship later in the series. Since she joined later, she can create a new foundation that doesn’t make him feel like such the odd one out.
Both version of Kol were so good, but when Daniel showed up, I understood kol more. It hit me on an more emotional and personal level. Maybe I was to young and naive to understand lol before, but I thank Daniel for coming in for a short while and letting me learn to love kol’s character. 1,000 years later and Kol is still amazing at magic. Rebekah couldn’t even use her powers and Kol was a natural still. I always felt bad for Kol because all he really wanted was his magic. It was just ripped away from him and for 1,000 years he drove himself mad (to a point) trying to get it back and experience it through others. Being around magic and witches any way he could
i loved kol as a witch. it felt like it really fit him. freya's magic was always used to solve problems for them but kol using magic in sibling spats the way the others used their super strength in brawls all the time was really interesting and new and felt more true to the lore of witches always hating vampires. they all technically started off as witches because of their mother, but kol seems like the only one who really took to it because of how much he knew about magic. being cut off from that natural aptitude he had while his siblings clearly didn't feel like they lost anything probably added to feeling like the odd one out
It’s so bad that I can relate to Kol most of all the characters in TVD TO and Legacies. So happy he found love and saw that even his family thats hurt him can care. I miss Kol. I want him to appear in Legacies

Yeah I know but America usually shows british accents in a certain posh snobby way, on this one though they got the accent pretty accurate.
Joseph Morgan is from London, so he's not faking lol. Most of the Originals are from Australia though, including Phoebe Tonkin
That explains it then, damn I had just a little bit of hope America had finally gotten it right.
I mean Daniel Gillies fakes his accent so if his is somewhat accurate then we almost got it
