I had this AMT Interplanetary U.F.O. model in the mid-1970's as a kid and my father had actually assembled it for me along with a model of Star Trek's U.S.S. Enterprise from the classic TV series. The U.F.O. model was so cool with its bay doors that could be opened along with a smaller escape craft and they both glowed in the dark which was awesome. :)
I had this as a kid back in the 70’s and I snagged a new one for my self when I saw on the shelf of the hobby store many years back. Very fun watching you put it together, you have definitely gave me some ideas on how to finish it out. I noticed today that there is another version available that doesn’t have the glow-in-the-dark plastic called the Lief Erickson if I am not mistaken. I may have to get that one as well seeing as how I love this ship so much!
That's a cool build. I'm dating myself here, but I remember building this while watching Battlestar Galactica (TOS). Your build brings back some good memories. I hope to see more sci-fi builds on your channel and may have to pick this kit up to build again.
I've had this model sitting on the shelf for a while. You may have inspired Me to take a crack at it! Excellent paint job...I'm with Sam from Model Chili Your ship has a very Romulan feel to it. I like it!!

Yes, a previous version of the model "Leif Ericson Galactic Cruiser" included light up engines. Those parts you described go between the front and the back of the engines to hold them together. The kit I have didn't come with engines, but still included the connection parts.
I know they make scale models of Futuro Houses. Yet I can't find any videos of them. That's strange. Someone needs to build large scale model kits of them.
Using card stock to paint panel lines. Never even thought of that!! Thank you for teaching me something new!!!
You're welcome, that's what modeling is all about!

I built this kit back in the 70’s. It was marketed as part of the Star Trek line of models. It was never in the TV series. Great build!
Yes this kit does have an interesting past, thanks for watching!

Lots of possibilities with this model. I like the very old one that has the light up engines, might be worth get another couple of these kits.
Pretty cool. It looks very Romulan, especially the alien letters.
I would say its heavily Star Trek inspired.
Nice job, nice job doing those decals too..
Thanks! The decals weren't easy. Old and cracked

Thanks very much, I loved making this model and I wouldn't mind making it again as an earth command with light up engines.
Outstanding work!!!!!
Thank you very much!

Nice!, let me know what paint scheme you go with. It was designed back in the 60's with Star Trek in mind so that's probably why it looks familiar.
Great build - something different and unexpected.
Great work all round - fantastic paint.
Thanks very much, I loved painting this one
Outstanding build. Great work all round. Lovely to see
Glad you enjoyed it!
That looks great👍
Thanks 👍
Nice mate 😁👌
Cheers!
I think instead of a sharks it looks more like
aDragon it also reminds me of the reptilian race from Star Trek called the gourn....
More ufo and old spacecraft kits.

Did you ever discover where parts 22 & 23 go? (They’re on the mold with the shuttle legs)

Looks interesting, not really my thing maybe find an architect who builds models?
Would LED's have worked on this ship?
It's entirely possible
Is your airbrush spitting or am I just hearing things. Sounds like you have moisture from compressor coming through hose, or it’s just my imagination.
I don't think it's moisture, I have a moisture filter installed
I could literally be crazy and hearing things. You know if you have moisture problems with your setup more then some dummy watching your vid lol😀
@@bdaddyjames011976 I agree it does sound a bit wheezy but I think that's due to my paint mixture.
