Thank you for the great overview of the 996. I owned VIN 441 that had the 014 option with arctic silver over metropole blue interior. It was such a nice car but I sold it in favor of my 3/99 build 996. I’ve owned my other 996 for almost 7 years and have been driving it almost daily. My car has one option, it’s super basic black over black. I absolutely love it. I drove it cross country with my dad after I bought it. I’m a millennial and the 996 was always “the” 911 to own for me. I’d love an air-cooled car but I have zero reason to buy one since I love my 996 so much. I’m pushing to get the car over 200k miles before I turn 40. Keep up the awesome work PCA.
MERZZZ! #flipflopcourage I love seeing great color combinations. I see toooo many 996 Silver over black with tiptronic for sale. I still remember in early 1994 seeing that Riviera Blue 993 on the car magazine covers.
No offense to anyone. I have 2 water-cooled 911's and driven 3 air cooled cars that were nothing but rattle traps. No way this Carrera RS would open my wallet for what this guy is talking about.
I disagree! My very first car was a 1977 911S that I just sold. I had no rattles or problems with it ever. It had a feel & sound that my 2001 Carerra 4 doesn't have. The C4 can run circles around the 911S but its a different driving experience!
You need to drive a good one. The build quality pre-1999 is remarkable. Yes, the water-cooled 911s have more modern performance, but the 964s and earlier feel much more solidly put together. And yes, they are noisy... but I enjoy the mechanical soundtrack.
Early 1999 911 IS the one to own. I'm fortunate enough to own many 911's and this is my fav.
Thanks for sharing!
I AGREE!!!! I even have a 986, and I cant figure out which I like better
Good show! Thanks for the feature 😎
Any time!
Bravo Nathan. I especially enjoyed the comment regarding base cars vs S models.
Glad you enjoyed it

If you care about how much it’s worth, you’ve got to sell it!
