In the live performance, Mike said "In the role of Chester, all of you" so they are not seeing Emily as his replacement but rather as a new start. Her vocals are incredible! Mike started the band! Chester came after. People need to stop saying they shoulda changed the name. As long as the founding members are there they should and rightfully will be linkin park.
I think that the live version is better. There is less production in it, it showcases raw talent a little bit more. We know that she can't fake her singing live and if she is lip singing, we could see it. If you give me a song from an album and I like the song, I may buy the album. But artists like them make a lot of their money through live concerts and it's good to know that the singer can deliver a solid live performance too. I'm glad that it's her and not some of the rumours. Many artists are good producers but can't sing in a live setting. Emily can definitely sing and it's inciting the fans to go to live concerts.

I think that Chester would be very proud of his bandmates chosing to make new Linkin Park music again ❤ Love it, that they don't want to replace Chester (cause nobody could), they start a new like Linkin Park 2.0 with her 🫶🏻 It still sounds like Linkin Park only with another great female vocalist and that's amazing 🎉❤

They just did their first full show on 9/11 in Los Angeles, there’s a video of the full 2 hour show and she sounds absolutely insane singing the old songs, highly recommend you two check it out Emily is the new singer and Colin Britton is the new drummer and I think they made amazing choices for both of them and I’m 100% behind the new song and album that’s coming… WELCOME BACK
‘Some’ LP fans do want a new singer, so the band can make music again. Chester was the goat, but he’s moved on from this plane, and the band deserve to live. Emily is fire, they sound amazing. The past exists at the same time as the future!
LP always had a soul of storytelling. They always singing about something, about their feelings, about their actually "what we are" and new song is still this kind of thing. "I know you're waiting in the distance, just like you always do" - he talk to fans about he know, that after 7 years fans are still around the world and waiting for something new. "Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be, don't know why I'm hoping for what I won't receive" - people want old LP even if they are not the same and they give us songs, who were maybe in opposite to band members feelings, but people want this again? And now they have a hope that fans accept the new era of LP, but they know that people going to hate them of that. "I only wanted to be part of something" - Apologise to fans, but hey, we are people too, we have a feelings and we have a dreams, wishes, targets, we want to do some new things, please let us do this. *english is not my 1st language, so sorry if there are some mistakes.
love emily. love the fit. don't think they shouldve changed the name. remember the guys were all there before chester came in. plus think of other bands changing their names after a member left. van hagar? ugh. look my take is that this will bring in a whole new group of fans that have never heard of LP. they will dig into the catalog and discover chester. that keeps chesters legacy going and allows the band to move forward. emily's original band is Dead Sara. check out the weatherman and sorry for it all to get an idea of her vocal ability. in the meantime, its time for you guys to react to The Warning again.

Emily came from Dead Sara. If Mike came in with a guy, everyone would be saying "They're trying to replace Chester." So for Mike to take a chance on Emily is really Badass! A New Linkin Park. And I think they still did justice to to the band. Mike was a co-founder of Linkin Park, so it's still fitting that the band be called Linkin Park. Her voice fits in perfectly and she kicks ass doing it! She also helps write the songs as well. So she's not just a singer in the band. I miss Chester. I’m 59 (meaning that I’ve heard them since the beginning) and like the new line-up and pretty sure they are going to shine, just give ‘em time
They sound phenomenal together 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I checked the live in LA online, I feel like everyone accepted Emily on her performance of "giving up" and the rest of the show the crowd was awesome to look at
She's perfect
I think Chester is smiling somewhere above. He will always missed and still the his band finally goes moves on. Welcome Emily.
Since you guys mentioned Nirvana, you need to check out Dead Sara’s cover of Heart-shaped Box. Emily KILLED it on that track and it might be fun to break down the stems too.
Linkin Park is back. The chemistry is back. Great to see them back on stage and in the studio!
3:32 I love how Mike points to Emily and then you can just see a silent "hell yeah!" in his demeanour, because he knows what's coming and he knows it's amazing.
This song is brilliant, and Emily is absolutely killing it! 😎🤘
I'm so happy to see LP back and producing music again. They gave enough time to mourn Chester. He will never be replaced or forgotten but I am so glad to see the band moving forward. In the live performance, Mike said "In the role of Chester, all of you" so they are not seeing Emily as his replacement but rather as a new start. Her vocals are incredible! She fits the vibe of the band and they still totally sound like Linkin Park. I have been a fan since the beginning and unfortunately missed the opportunity to see them live. I am so grateful that I may now have another chance, even without Chester. 💜💜
Mike started the band! Chester came after. People need to stop saying they shoulda changed the name. As long as the founding members are there they should and rightfully will be linkin park.
Emily always had a great voice with dead Sara and they already did a cover of killing in the name where she showed off her capabilities. I love Emily
All of dead Sarah members are Scientologists.
Mike was the main songwriter. This proves it. This is 100% Linkin Park, and Emily roars like a fucking lion. Nothing but respect.
Hearing Emily sing just makes me picture Chester looking down at her like "good job, girl"
The official music video is obviously so much better, you can feel that Chester energy from Emily in her screams
I agree 💯👍
sorry if you didnt feel the energy there, my god, 1st song after 7 years, 1st song, she sounded incredibly good considering all that could you imagine????
they could have faked live with real time pitch correction, but they didnt, and because they didnt we got to see Emily bear her soul, just as Master Bennington did before her.
I really like the way Emily & Mike layer their vocals. When male & female singers harmonize the male voice often drops out. When he & Emily harmonize the sounds blend so well.
You should listen to a few from that livestream. One step beyond, faint and bleed it out were all great
I love how Emily walks on the stage with such confidence. She is a perfect fit for the band.
We as fans need to move on now. it's been 7 years. I don't mean forget about chester, more like keep his memory alive by keeping linkin park alive.
I listen to Linkin Park my whole life and it always helped me with my emotions. When i was depressed when the docters told us my mother wouldnt life longer then 6 months, when i was bullied at school i could release my anger with LP and Chesters voice was always there at the end to calm me down and find my inner peace. His passing left a deep hole inside, so stranges i dont even know him. Now for the first time ant many years....... when hearing Emily........ for the first time i got emotinal again because of a song. After listen to this song for over 50 times i feel like this is for me like a good bye to Chester. Finaly i feel like i can give his passing a place........ never forgotten........ somewhere in her voice i can hear Chester again, but still know that it is Emily. Im so glad to see Linkin Park back again. no doubt it will even help me with my emoitons to this day. Emily...... thank you!!!
She had to be insanely nervous. Imagine your introduction as the new lead singer for one of the biggest rock bands in the last 25 years is during a live performance…She had some hiccups during the live stream you guys are watching, but last night she fucking knocked every single LP song out of the park. Absolutely incredible. Here is link to a very good video of the whole concert. Youll see why they didn’t change the name of the band, she does all the old songs very good.

It’s still has old-skool LP vibes with Emily sounding great and true to the band’s sound without coming off as a cheap imitation. Brava. And f**k the haters.
I’ve never got to see Chester live, but I was at their show at the Barclay’s center on Monday and Emily still nearly brought me to tears hearing those songs. She’s more than capable of keeping Linkin Park linkin park, even though Chester could never be replaced. No name change needed.
I think that Chester would be very proud of his bandmates chosing to make new Linkin Park music again ❤
Love it, that they don't want to replace Chester (cause nobody could), they start a new like Linkin Park 2.0 with her 🫶🏻
It still sounds like Linkin Park only with another great female vocalist and that's amazing 🎉❤
"i wanna be a part of something" hás a strong feelings about the band, maybe
What a great reaction
I’ve loved Linkin Park since Hybrid Theory and I’m sad I never got to see them live. Chester will always live on in my heart and soul, but I’m happy to see them continue if that’s what they want to do. I welcome Emily with open arms and can’t wait to hear what’s next.
It was Mike's band. Not Chester's. As much as people don't want to think about it that way. He started the band. There's also other people than just Chester. Why should they have to start over? Mike said it, they are not replacing Chester, you can't. They are moving on without him.
I think Chester would be proud.
They improved. Just compare crawling
I just loved the new singer, Is from, Dead Sara if I remember correctly ❤
This is a New Era my friends. Finally are Back. Thanks.
I cried watching thevlive show, for Chester and the band, I'd never heard of her before, from Dead Sara, but they sounded great, i wish them all the success in the world ❤
loved it. thanks for the review.
It's incredible the difference of comments on Tiktok and UA-cam
UA-cam is so healthy. Tiktok is only about "cover band"
Tik Tok is full of immature butthurt Gen Zers who just want crap to complain about.
I've seen the 2 hour LA concert, WAUW, just WAUW. Best move they could do. Chester replacing with a clone man had not worked. So with Emily they began a totaly new chapter. I LOVE IT!!!!
I highly suggest you two go to the LP UA-cam and check out the hour long interview with Zane Lowe, it explains how this all came to be and all major questions.
They just did their first full show on 9/11 in Los Angeles, there’s a video of the full 2 hour show and she sounds absolutely insane singing the old songs, highly recommend you two check it out
Emily is the new singer and Colin Britton is the new drummer and I think they made amazing choices for both of them and I’m 100% behind the new song and album that’s coming… WELCOME BACK
I agree. Mike also touches on the fact that the new song sounds like something LP would do so changing the name would be weird.
I’m glad it’s still the same band. I’m so happy a terrible event wasn’t the end of them. As much as I miss Chester, it’s a joy to have them back.
‘Some’ LP fans do want a new singer, so the band can make music again. Chester was the goat, but he’s moved on from this plane, and the band deserve to live. Emily is fire, they sound amazing. The past exists at the same time as the future!
I'm glad you watched the live version. I've caught the video, and its cool, but live is SOOOOO good.
I love this new song !!! so happy to hear these band again even more with such a greatttttt!!! song
Ilove linkin park then and now, i can't wait what the future will bring ❤❤❤
100% well said. Also agree on the Dead Sara songs - "Weatherman", "Sorry For It All", "Anybody Stripped", "Hands Up", "Mona Lisa", etc....The best band you have never heard of, guaranteed.
Ya van como veinte veces que escucho ese tema y cada vez me gusta más.
Outstanding choice!!
We all love Chester and will always cherish his talent…Chester has passed the baton to Emily to continue enjoying linking park’s talent.
I watched an interview with the band the other day and they were working together since 2019 just jamming. She was a founding member of Dead Sara!
She is just awesome! ❤
Well since Mike Shinoda was the principle writer of the original songs and Chester was able to relate to the songs.
Honesly this song is fire and i am pumped they are back. She is great and its a new sound. So it is the smartest decision. Also Mike sounds great here. I am pumped and i think Chester is looking down and smiling.
Her version of Faint at this performance sold me for sure. If you haven't seen/heard it
it's for sure her best song of the old songs
Emily was in a respected band called Dead Sara before this. Lively reaction guys!
Linkin park 2.0 for real FOR REAL!
Life had to move on & so is LP.. This is like a revival for the band. Emily nails it! Thumbs up!👍
Mike's voice is so nice. I hope he sings more in the future.
If you’re here watching all the reactions to this song, then give the channel a subscribe and the video a thumbs up! Let’s spread the good vibes!
why new name is Mikes Band not Chasters. yes he is Legend but Mike fond him and make him to that Legend and Emely is not a replacemenrt she Honors and take the Spirt of Chaster in a new era
Love Chester love Emily🤍💎❤️💚💙🏆💪🏻💪🏻
She is perfect.
In addition to being able to perform the classic songs, Linkin Park is already a well-known brand. They also had the same distinctive sound. 🎸🥁🎹 moving on.
I loved Chester but unfortunately is not between us anymore, but life goes on and so the band!
So I have to say that I loved their return and especially with a woman on the vocals together with Mike !
I looove her voice!
It’s a new chapter for LP and they did it!
Welcome back guys because I missed u!
And welcome Emily with a such powerful energy and a great voice!
Loooove it ❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
It sounded like Linkin Park to me even before I listened to Emily, she was just a plus 👌🏻 I think she's amazing and I can't wait to see what's coming next
There is no controversy at all. Linkin park Fans love the new line up, they are just happy to see them smiling again and doing what they love most. It's just a handfull of hardcore Chester Fans being selfish and hate seeing the band moving on.
Well, from what I saw and I'm sure someone's already mentioned this.Someone made a comment in another video that they had thought about changing the song. But when they heard her sing and hurt her harmonized , then they pretty much figured that they could keep link in park alive instead of trying to go with a different name because she fit in so perfectly
I loved it!!
I also think they waited long enough (7 years) to make a come back. And of course, as I write this review, They have won the Billboard Music Award for Best rock group! So I think they did it right in every way!!!!!! Congratulations to them!
she is Fierce
They sound more like Linkin Park than the last couple of albums did.
They're definitely Linkin Park.
Emily has only gotten better and better in their live performances since this one. I was at the London show and they absolutely smashed it! Emily is and absolutely perfect fit.
I love seeing everybody's reactions to the first time she goes into the second chorus, lol.
This is the first time i know a band with different lead vocalist, but still on the same track. I still recognized it as LP not another bands 👍
Emily can't be compared to Chester, just like Chester can't be compared to Emily. Both have their own style and both can carry Linkin Park on their shoulders.
