Glad my value battle showdown showed up! I have a value/dividend portfolio. I have schd, schy, jepi, avuv, mdyv, & VLU, for its low volatility. Thanks guys!!!!
Your ETF Battles suggestion is getting lots of love. India is too big and too important to ignore! Hard to believe this is our first India ETF request. Ron
Although the comparison was interesting - it was skewed because AVUS and VLU are broad market core like but with a value tilt. AVLV for example specifically targets large-cap value. VFVA is quite different as it specifically targets value factor deeply and as noted in the review it currently has a significant exposure to smallcap value - and deeply value stocks. Interesting showdown but again there’s significant differences in their value targets from moderate to deep - depends on what fits your portfolio and what you can handle.
Kenster: You are correct. However, keep in mind this specific ETF Battle - as 99.9% of our matchups - was a viewer requested contest. In this case, it was @christianperalta3226 who made the request. And the ETF choices for this battle were his, not ours. Keep in mind the ETF Battles we do are mostly linear (apples-to-apples) analysis, however, we also execute non-linear matchups (apples-to-oranges). Linear matchups would see value vs. value whereas non-linear would see value vs. growth, for example. Not all audience members are linear thinkers. And certain matchups may not make sense at the surface level. In the early days of ETF Battles, I struggled with this. But after much thought, I accept it - knowing the real world daily investment choices we all face aren't necessarily neatly organized in linear fashion. At times, non-linear analysis is required. Thanks for your excellent comments! Ron
Hey Ron! Love the channel and all the ETF battles. Can you guys do a video on the optimal quadfecta or pentafecta ETF portfolio. So far I'm going with with SCHD, JEPI, TLTW, DIVO, and maybe some JEPQ.
Hi Suraj! FYI, we did numerous ETF Battles with these same ETF tickers. Please check them out, I've linked our Season 3 playlist. After watching, let me know what your exact ETF tickers are...that you'd like to see in a future contest. Best, Ron ua-cam.com/play/PL2nQqIxm8RGDupzzM6wi2Km7pUz0aEMPD.html
VTV is also a great large cap value fund. Same expense ratio as SCHV, lowest Standard deviation among value funds, and 2nd best long-term performance in this category.
Hey Ron. So I hear a lot about the international market and VXUS. But I want to see if there is a better way to gain exposure to the larger international market. Some ETFs I have heard of are SCHE SCHF SCHY VXUS not sure if this would be a good battle and in sure there are many more funds that could be better, but trying to learn more on this topic! Would love to see a battle including some of these names and hear what the judges have to say!
SL: FYI, I only like two types of securities - foreign and domestic. Since you've chosen an ETF Battle focused on foreign securities, I'm all in. We may have to slightly modify your request, but the overall idea of an international/EM contest is solid. Ron
All this sounds good in a vacuum however life isn’t that way so the real question would be If someone has a portfolio they can be whatever age and like many the sizable amounts are in growth type ETFs or mutual funds and now it is March 2023 so then the real question is what are you do because all those growth ETF certain down 20% or more so do you chase the returns take the loss and go from one ETF that’s gross to another ETF that is value That’s the real life question
AVUS is a broad market ETF so it would be comparable to VTI there might be a slight value till just based on advantis methodology but they're not overly weighting value in that fund to my knowledge
As Tom said, Vanguard is known for indexing but with VFVA the company shows us that a) it is not a one-trick pony and b) it has quant muscle. Cheers! Best, Ron
Great show - would like to see a battle of: iShares US Aerospace & Defense (ITA), Invesco Aerospace & Defense ETF (PPA) and SPDR S&P Aerospace & Defense ETF (XAR). Thanks!
Thank you JA for the excellent battle suggestion! FYI, we did a triple-header between these three ETF tickers in Season 3 of #ETFBattles, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/Bg2Fzs1pURQ/v-deo.html

@@derekmarlowe522 AVUS is the correct and viewer requested ETF ticker.

SPYI vs JEPI vs JEPQ
+1 for VLU. RAR for the win.
It looks like Vanguard does it again, but not with the lowest cost. Very informative battle. Thanks guys. Happy New Year .
Thank you Dave! Good to see you again. And snark aside, I'm so glad you don't bite! Ron

This show is so great, so glad I found it last week. I have been watching all the seasons! You bring on such great speakers. Keep it up!
SL: Welcome aboard the #ETFBattles train! Sooooooooooooo glad to have you with us. Ron

Always invest with an adequate cushion or margin of safety. Look at our Portfolio Makeover series to learn more! Ron

Thanks for your two-cents JC!
Fun video concept to compair, ETFs
Thank you Masoncnc! Ron
Would be better to compare all these against VTV
Are you making an ETF Battles contest suggestion? And if so, give us your exact ETF tickers. Thanks, Ron
The holdings in VFVA are stellar. I almost got punch drunk 🍷 reading the list!
As Tom said, Vanguard is known for indexing but with VFVA the company shows us that a) it is not a one-trick pony and b) it has quant muscle. Cheers! Best, Ron
VLU is ofcourse the best choice over VFVA. However, the second rank will also go to ETF "RFV" instead of VFVA..
PJ: Yes, RFV is another example of value ETF with a hard line tilt. Thanks for watching #ETFBattles! Ron
Do you guys like SCHD?
