Big Rod what's up........ Underrated but not forgotten .... Thank you for the first 3 albums especially Me and Joe I was a sophomore in high school bumping it daily 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
I must say that in the South we rode hard to that Rodney O and Joe Cooley. They should have stayed with their sound. Originally we thought they were from the south, because of the heavy 808 sound. Props on the interview.
I'm from Memphis and we use the bump the hell out of Rodney O and Joe Cooley. For the longest time, I thought they were from the South. I had met some cats from , I can't remember somewhere in the Midwest and I brought them up and they hadn't heard of Rodney O and Joe Cooley, I was surprised.
@@box5bastard277 can you tell me who dropped the decayed 808 kicc drum from Cali first on wax? I'm very aware of Egyptian Lover but never heard him used the kicc decayed. I need this piece of unknown history you know of.
Responsible for one of the GOAT songs of all time! Wish I can meet you one day! 'Bass' was the soundtrack of my teens. I also was a regular @ Groove Time in the Dino!
I'm a big fan of Rodney O! And I like general Jeff too! I met Rodney O at a club in Irvine California and he was super cool to me! He and Joe had some sweet outfits on! Some of their later jams were incredible like Throw ya head back! I think Fuck New York is a great album
Peace Thank you Soren. I don’t think Rodney will check the comments. I love Rodney 0 & Joe Cooley. I saw this dudes live oversees back in Brazil in the late 80’s word probably in one of the worse clubs ever however the love was there, Rodney was wearing an white cap 🧢 with the blue dodgers logo, word up! Love you Rodney, Everlasting Bass Forever!
thanks for giving rodney o & joe cooley some shine, truly an underrated duo whose catalog has aged well on another note, i'd love to see interviews with the dangerous crew if not short himself then definitely ant banks, or pee wee; shorty b played in go go bands before moving to oakland he'd be a perfect fit lol
Rodney O Did a Beat on Killa Tay's Kingpins Only Re-Release on Greedy Green Records. Can't Remember the artists or title But I Remember the Beat..its track #2.
A lot of New Yorkers are moving south because of gentrification and a mass immigrant migration in NYC. And they're taking hip hop with them so it'll be in the South for a long time.
Nah he right!! NY artist back then in the 80s 90s hated that south/ East music. Too fast. MC couldn’t rap. Etc! RunDMC stopped south artist from being put on the FreshFest Tour back then… some groups respected it but they didn’t like East and south
Salute to the OG's who spoke up for the west coast. Definitely heroes to the streets of LA.
Rodney has such a dope voice, flow and tone. True legend 🙌
