So youre a human printer and a freaking doctor too? legit you know what the nasal bone is the maxilla, everything of your anatomy is correct according to my medical books. good job
Thanks for this lesson, after learning about the face anatomy and then learning about the detail of the skull, my potrait drawing become more and more accurate
@ONE MAN ARMY I learn two method to get accurate potrait drawing and both of these method are a must for me, because these method are connecting each other giving me best result of study. They are really helpfull Check kevinmcCainstudios' channel about the explanation of reilly method, And check bradwynn jones' channel for loomis method. Actually I think this channel also has an explanation about loomis method.
I have been looking forward to this! Thank you so much Dan! I can't wait to get started on my practicing. Also, thank you for doing these in various angles too!
I had a real skull as a reference for drawing. It became my very first "masterpiece", although it took a long time to finish. This was 6 months after I'd started drawing, so I was an absolute beginner still. If I'd known about this video of yours, it would've probably helped me a lot. Although I must say, because I had no help whatsoever I now know the skull inside out. The hardest part to me was to get the zygomatic arch and that small hole below (int. acoustic meatus) to look propperly and three-dimensional. And strangely i strugled a lot with getting the teeth right too. On an old skull the teeth don't look as neat as in your drawing here. But I can say that in the end everyone was amazed how well it had turned out - and me too ... . All thanks to YOU Dan Beardshaw! Merci! Without your early videos I wouldn't have dared to begin drawing after I had turned fifty, being unemployed and mentally wrecked ... . I've since stayed away from the internet(UA-cam) shortly after you'd started studying architecture. It's good to see, that you're still posting. I hope you're well and coping alright in this pandemic. I love it being able to draw while all others hang infront of their telly, playstation, or PC. - - - Seasons Greetings to you !🎄🖊🖼
Incredibly well explained tutorial. I found your video through my Forensic Anthropology class; our professor recommended your video as supplemental information in our module on human osteology- specifically the skull!
Eu estou impressionada com os resultados, depois de seguir seus passos e desenhar todas as partes separada, no final consegui desenhar a caveira sem olhar para a tela, e ficou bem melhor que antes. Parabéns e obrigada pelo ótimo vídeo!!
Great tutorial! I had a bit of trouble making sure the skulls were coherent with one another when doing the last exercice. I kept making the skulls shorter than they should be. Hopefully these will get ironed out over time as I practice. It can get exausting drawing skulls though! hehe
This is an amazing channel Dan! I get better everyday because of your channel and another! When are you gonna start draw the world again? Can’t wait for the awesome future videos ❤️
I can't do it! Why?? You are very, extremely talented. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do a break down of bones on the skull before!! Please don't ever under estimate you incredible mind.
This is fantastic! I used to draw as a kid and have recently become re-inspired by art such as blackwork, dark renaissance and death metal covers such as Cannibal Corpse. Would you be able to do another video like this only adding the muscles?
damn good! the best part for me was the end with the skulls at different positions. This was difficult for me to visualize. Now I can practice each one. Thanks Dan for going the extra mile! KUDOS!!
The subtitles are hilarious !! I laugh everytime instead of "bones" the subtitles say : "BURNS" because of your accent (wich is so cool btw). I am just begining to study the skull and your video is the greatest way to do so ! Thank you for the great and very helpfull video !! I'm looking forward for the next anatomy videos !!
Wow, fucking amazing! I was seeing you draw this and kept thinking "What the fuck? How can someone draw so beautifully and perfectly? It's like you were using a ruler or c cheat sheet underneath to draw things in the same size and proportion with such accurate calculations. This is truly mazing to see and yet not amazing because I can only imagine the years of practice
Awesome stuff! I just discovered your channel and I really like the content here, along with the background music. I am looking for some cheaper alternative for the Bristol Board drawing paper you use and recommend. Have any suggestions?
Dear Thank you for your video How to use the human anatomical skull for planar analysis? i.e. How can I identify the planes of the human skull(what landmarks do I use on the anatomical skull), build on that with the riley method teaches and then apply it to a life drawing of the head or to a picture drawing of the head. What landmarks can I use from a picture of a head or from a life model head to reference to the anatomical skull, to the riley method and also to planar analysis? How to learn the physical proportions of the skull from the anatomical skull and what landmarks do I use for measurement and what landmarks (i.e. Bone landmarks from the skull) do I use for planar changes How to do I achieve consistency of features across different views. Is there a particular procedure of sketching where I develop planar analysis and volumetric techniques when I am studying the head? If you can assist with this it will be appreciated
Okay, I am using 1" squares for the grids and has worked up till the last skull. For the last skull, you said to make a line at the halfway point to make it more accurate but every time I do that I always end up with another 1" square. On yours, it looks a good amount smaller but I am unsure or not if that is simply the perspective or if the square is that much less in width. I know that it will look a little off without the perspective viewing but is there somewhere where I can simply look at the grid with their measurements?
This is the best skull drawing tutorial I've found so far! Thank you for sharing!
My guy this video is as impressive as it is informative you’re a monster of an artist
This is the easiest and best skull tutorial !
I thought you were saying “burn” instead of bone. I assumed it was some anatomical term for parts of the skill but it was just bone
@nova star Captions, my good man.
Me too 😁 until I came across your comment 😂😂 thnx
So youre a human printer and a freaking doctor too? legit you know what the nasal bone is the maxilla, everything of your anatomy is correct according to my medical books. good job
Calling artists human printers is probably such a dumbass for you to say.

I love your use of the front and side same guidelines. It creates a sort of 3D visual image of sorts.
Thanks so much for these! After you finish the series, could you show us how to draw both males and females from different angles? Ty
In the beginning i'm always like "pshhhh.. I can do that," then I start drawing 😣
X 0 ))

Such a great video. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

So do I need to practice drawing the skull several times to know the placement of the features and then move on to drawing the simplified version?
Yep thats how it usually works in different topics not only drawing
Very helpful, thanks a bunch chief, time to get to practicing then
I can't wait to learn the "burns" of the skull!
Anyone noticed that he used the loomis method for drawing the skull? Pretty cool.
Now this is Epic
great! A very good demonstration! Thanks a lot!
Super demo Dan!

Thank you man,helped a lot
Just what I needed, thanks!

Thank you
Thanks

Great work!! your drawing is very good.
How can we think a new drawing??
It is a big question for me, answer please.

How do you get your super detailed photos. When i zoom in on mine they look like a blur.
You are sick ✌️
Thanks. I just wish the different angles could be done a little slower.
Nice system for proportions....
YES
Love it
thank u
Wooooo! Thanks for this video tutorial i learn news things. Great jod
Should we know the skull before drawing head and face?
Wooow amazing video 🤗💛💛💛💛💛💛
the tooth part is very hard for me
which reference did you use?
Awesome
ive used this video like 3 years ago gonna use it again today lol
Gratooo por compartilhar
Please, do a video:how to draw human proportions, or how to perspective drawing more plzplzplz
You know there tons of those types of videos right?
If we somehow run out of doctors professional artists are the next best thing.
that skull has some nice straight teeth. must have had a good dentist.
great vid
I really like this but I can’t seem to get the eye sockets right no matter what I do? Any tips?
Thanks for this tutorial. And also a nonrelated question 😅are you from Bradford?
How is this possible? How much do I practice a day before I get this precise?
