- I am opening two hobby boxes of 2021 Panini Select Football for our next sports card pack break/product review! These boxes have an SRP of $250 but currently sell in the mid $1000 range. Every box contains 12 5-card packs. Expect 2 autographs, 1 memorabilia card, 10 Silver Prizms, 5 Prizm parallels, and 6 inserts per box. This product comes with chances at pulling live XRC cards of the top rookies from the 2022 NFL Draft Class, rookie cards from 4 different base tiers, 1/1 Black parallels, inserts from multiple new sets, Zebra case-hits, SSP parallels (gold, green, green/black snake skin), autos of the NFL's top rookies/stars/HOFers, autographs of Trevor Lawrence, Ja'Marr Chase, Zach Wilson, Trey Lance, Justin Fields, & Mac Jones, and more! I can’t imagine spending $1,500 on a box and getting that type of haul. That’s what? Maybe $100 worth of cards? Generously maybe $200? Even if they all PSA 10’d you still wouldn’t break even. Just wow 😳 I appreciate packman so much for doing this and taking the L so we can all move on 🙏🏻
This would be a bad buy at SRP, $1500 is absolutely insane. I miss the days when you could buy a box like this for $100.

For the price there should be 4 auto's per box and atleast one or two game used patch or memorabilia card .

I have fond memories of Daryl "Moose" Johnston knocking linebackers on their butts to get Emmitt a few more yards. He was a really good fullback. That being said, I'd be ticked with that auto at $1,500 a box.
I agree. I love the idea of pulling a classic vet like that (I saw someone pull a William Perry auto)... these are awesome! However once you factor in the $1600 price tag, I'd shed a small tear in sadness

I’ve gotta say he has class but I can barely watch him take it square in the face so many times from Panini. I hate Panini. They are destroying the hobby and we all know it. Line from one of the comments said “rent or mortgage or family holiday or groceries or….. or a box of Select.” Anybody who can’t see this is just used the hi-lo of Panini bi-polar disorder. I mean really. The silver and gold packs from the National is all the evidence anyone should need.
it's not just panini. he keeps buying this shit. whenever the next break is, this will be in it. we all complain about the same things. but this is this guy's livelihood, same with hundreds of other breakers and rippers. but the chase is so profitable and breakers know it, so they keep doing it. Packman is cool but like you said, he takes it square in the face because he'll recoup the cost at other people's expense later.
Buying retail Prizm or Select like walking into Target and throwing $50 at the first employee you see then running out. You would save time doing it that way. Also why does it have to $1,500 for a box of Select? People would all have better collections if they just went on eBay and bought individual cards that they ACTUALLY WANT

Awesome Packman! I love select! I just opened the 2021 Select Blaster box on my channel. No field level and no xrc, but i think with the high cost of hobby i dont mind ripping into a $30 blaster. Glad they separated hobby vs retail pulls this year compared to the way basketball did the retail blues. Have a great week 🤙

nah just stop buying from breakers until they don't buy up all the products anymore causing all the crazy prices. the only packs I rip are mtg but stopped buying boxes back after Zendikar Rising. I just do drafts bc Hasbro is encouraging the same type of Greed monster mentality & driving any non super blinged out foil full art etched Phyrexian text price down making 99/100 versions bulk bin material... so I do agree in the sense that its a sad state in the carfboard manufacturing and production front for the value on customers end. so I guess there a multitude of issues we as consumers need to help push in the right direction.

My first and last Prizm hobby box only came with one auto and my numbered cards were all defensive players except for one Amon-Ra out of 249. Worst money I've ever spent in my life. Lucky if I have 75 bucks in value from it. Both of these select boxes were miles better. Thanks for doing the giveaways for your community! Looking forward to 8/31!

How would you recommend starting collecting? Is select the best nfl to go for or optic?
Good point on Prizm over Select. Seems like the average Prizm parallel is worth more, true golds worth more etc.. I don't particularly think either are GREAT sets but you get better bang for your buck with Prizm. Which is absurd to say when it's 1200/box
Problem with Select is the non-silvers are not that impressive looking.
Also the 3 levels, anything under Courtside / field level is worthless

At the S.r.p. this is a product you can buy and enjoy opening with your son while you watch the game. Unfortunately you will never get a box for srp.

Why do people keep paying these prices? I'll never know at those prices there should be 4 auto's and game used memorabilia card per box other than that those boxes are carrying maybe 250.00 dollars in value max straight high stakes gambling and a robbery ,unless you get a case hit.
Love the content as usual. The boxes keep becoming more expensive. Great looking cards but I’ve seen a bunch of these opened and a lot of the cards have major print lines. Quality control absolutely has to get better.

With a much weaker rookie class I assume next years prices have to decrease. When you go from 5-7 decent QBs to 1-2 your ceiling decreases and prices have to do the same. Without that ceiling next year I think they’d have time selling these over $800.

Apologies if you’ve answered this already, but when you say the SRP is $200-something, where are you getting that information and how can that be the SRP if Panini itself is selling boxes straight to the consumer for over $1500 apiece?

I see a lot of comments hating on Panini. I agree their products are way overpriced. I began collecting when in 1989. I was 10. It was so exciting! Assembling your books, trading with friends... and it taught us valuable lessons. How to handle with care, how to organize, how to negotiate, it began conversations, started friendships, and the best part was it didn't cost a lot of money.! $1500 a box? And that's not even the most expensive.... it's sad. Card collecting used to be something everyone could enjoy. Now it's just for the well off.
At this price point you have to hit a 25 or lower card of a top rookie quarterback and hope to break even.

It's funny how several of the influencers and breakers say it's 1500-1600 box. Yet you can find a box anywhere for that. Packman just peddling more hobby b/s. He gets all the discounts and preferred packs. But I still find myself watching... I guess we're the ones to blame. We keep supporting them.

I love that you give back to the Hobby you were one of the few that gives back way more than you take from The Hobby you are a really good guy but this Panini select product is brutal I've seen eight boxes opened on UA-cam and have not seen one good autograph yet and I've only seen one xrc of someone I've never heard of let's keep it real the 2022 draft class is very weak

People complaining like they expect a top rookie auto in every box lol . Seen heaps of sick cards being pulled in breaks so far . Just like prizm it's expensive and most of the box is trash but you can hit some massive investment cards.

I actually maybe opened the only decent box it seems lol.. I got my money back. Michael carter Zebra, herbert tie dye auto, TLAW tie-dye insert, and Kene RPA /25, and a bunch of other colors. even I was like meh.. lol

mathematically it doesn't add up 4500 x3 boxes means u have to pull a Monster...they should be in the 450-700 range

These high prices for hobby boxes are unsustainable, we are going to see a major crash in prices soon. Nobody seems to realize all these so called rare numbered auto cards are being diluted by all the different products being released. It’s going to get ugly. Feel bad for all the people paying thousands on these cards.

I can't see how anyone can get a box at $1500? What's the point? If u don't pull a top QB (values will decline quickly) there is no way u can make ur money back. look at the first box holy smokes I got max $60 value from it
