This is a gem. No sensationalism, no background music. I feel that this practice is like a cultural heritage. It must be preserved

This is such a sweet gesture to actually capture a Shepard's routine, for the daily challenges that they face, yet always smiling.
"बाकी तो क्या बोलना" 😄
Rare interview! 🙏🏽
Gaddis the Absolute unit of legends.. the original nomads.. interview with locals is always a welcome👌👌

"isme to Pehle khud pashu ban'na padta Hai"
Man, that was such a powerful line ♥️

This line touched the heart🙄
what does it mean?

After seeing the city life and the rat race one day you feel shepherd hona accha hai
Oo. Wow all the best for ur ias
Great interview. I remember it was in 2007 when we walked from Mud to Kafnu we met Gaddis shortly after the Bhaba pass. One Gaddi had an infection on his hand and asked us for medicine. Unfortunately we had none, we only had a plaster and something to clean the wounds. After the Gaddi had rinsed out his wound, we gave him a small plaster.
The gaddi didn't know what to do with it and wanted to put it in his mouth to eat, so we all laughed and told him to stick it on the wound. What we did not know (the so great Europeans). That the gaddi did it on purpose to make us laugh.
I am speechless
after listening n watching whole .
Love and tears!
It’s so nice to see you grow. You are possibly one of the hardest working youtubers I have known, and you have a tough life. I love your work. Best Wishes to a million.
Thanks Murali
Murali Balaraman - good to see you here and that we have a liking to this channel.
Nagaraj Prasadh didn’t see this till today. I have my own channel Murali Balaraman centred around productivity. Check it out.
Hard-working indeed! It's easy to work hard when you love your work. But it takes courage to quit a cushy corporate job and make money as an independent creator. Saravana is probably India's most under-rated UA-camr.
No doubt he is the best
Better than national geographic documentry ❤️ (your fan after watching only 1 video:- one day in Himalayas )
I have crossed pin parvati valley in 2011 from barsaini to spiti mudh village.. That was my first wonderful experience to been in the mountains so deeply... And some part of the videos I relate the places where I been and fall for the beauty of this natural landscape.. Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏
Had been there in Pin valley in June 2018.... Travelled till "Mud Village".....,most beautiful and less explored place in Himachal Pradesh..... Thank you sir for sharing such a nice interview.....
You're bringing out all different cultures and value to light in a most beautiful way. India is beautiful because of its diversity. God bless you
Great documentary. Thanks for the English translation.👌🏻👍🏻
The life of these shepherds is very similar to that of the Bedouin shepherds of the Bakhtiari tribe in Iran.
It just like musafir ko safar ar kadam kadam pe manzil milgaya jaisa😌🙏. I just found out your channel. Am an aspiring lone traveller. Wow, no background music, no extra inputs to overrate the video. Simply raw and amazing documentary. 😌
Wow! This is one of the most glorious documentaries I’ve seen and to imagine only one guy making all of it!
What a unique episode...a Himalayan shepherd life covered by an urban nomad ...blessed life
It's really, their way of living is so simple..hard working... independent..ND .. heart touching..
I am the son of shepherd from Maharashtra and I proud of it.

Hats off to your efforts to show this culture of India that we Indians never knew about.
The invewer sounds like a south Indian . Great job with exploring our amazing mountains. Beautifully shot video.
Compare to their life our life seems to be so boring, senseless, useless😣 even though their life is so hard still they have a pure heart nd so hard working nd they have more knowledge abt life, nature than us
Absolutely
your life is never boring
U are right
Thank you for this. I teach anthropology, and this is such a great resource to share with my students!
Apna pyara Himachal ,Not less than Heaven...
Unique language tones so sweet voice brother it’s part of life ❤️
Re
I am from lower Himachal,,but Gaddi are special part of us, as they come into areas and have a long stay over here. They become like family friends and also a part of our events.
Your efforts on making a blog are unparalleled, thanks for giving us the opportunity to view and discover lifestyle's and hardships of far reaching place's like spiti, ladak and other remote areas of Himachal Pradesh.
Thanks brother take care & keep safe.
Love from UTTARAKHAND😍
ONE DAY I WILL DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR THEM ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

Great insight into their life...
And hats off to you too for being one of them , living with them.
Lived with these guys for a week and half.. this video brings old memories and loads of goosebumps. i'm In tears. Thanks for sharing these golden footage and knowledge that you've attained. Bless you man! :)
May your troubles be less and your blessings be more. And nothing but happiness come through your door
Love all the questions you asked. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into the life of a shepherd. I love your channel.
Hey Man! Today first time I saw your video while randomly searching Spiti videos on UA-cam. I found it interesting and it made me excited to search more in your channel for other videos of your trips. Which again impressed me so I went on watching 1 then another then another and so on... All your trips, collection, content its all so natural that one can literally feel that. It is so natural and humble and I liked the way you explored remote villages, spent time/days with locals.. While taking us through all the beautiful scenes in different places especially mountains its simply awesome. I have no other words but you are a GEM.. With love and regards.... Bharat
Obsessed with your videos 😍❤️. Amazing. Thankyou 🙏🏻
"इसके लिए पहले पशु बनना पड़ता है" is my favourite line. I remember it being used in a previous video as well. Many perspectives, each having its profound meaning. Thank you for bringing their story to us! ☺️
It is the same interview from before. I just left out larger portions of the interview in that video. So decided to put together a new one. Got to keep myself busy during this lockdown :)
@@indiainmotion I remember. I even remember having a decent discussion, albeit in the comments, about the same. You'd explained about the maal being fed salt. This video explained it even further.
And about staying occupied, my number 1 request is for a live session. Just taking questions and giving out your thoughts.
I'm not really good at talking live. But I am in the process of setting up a home studio and will start doing videos from home. Reviews and talking about various stuff. Will definitely take requests for topics from all of you.
Very true. This line so deep, emotional and directly strike to your heart. Huge respect to these people..
Woundeful work as usual...
Wonderful video, loved the mountains and the beauty of the Valleys. Enjoyed the sheperd explaining things. THANKS,it takes a great deal of effort to film these stories.
Underrated is the word for you saravana sir. You are a star. But your time to shine is not very far. Entertainment with knowledge is 'India In Motion '. Hats off sir! Keep it up.
It's so beautiful to see how proud they are of themselves and their work!
Sir Your series in Himachal is ultimate... Special in spiti

Thanks a lot for the upload , learnt a lot about the life of the shepherds in Himachal. Great work
Thank you, Thank you so much. I had so many questions about the life of a shepherd, etc. Now I have them answered. I can see why it would be hard to give up that life!
Very Spiritual Interview.
I was doing research on shepherds for a sermon I am writing and I learned so much from this video. Thank you.
A lot to learn about the insights of ur travel and the lives of the shepherds! God speed to u ❤️
Waiting eagerly for these kind of stories
Amazing insight. Thanks for sharing!
Somuch information ,thank you sir
Thanks for providing this priceless experiences. Cheers!
It is wonderful. Thanks for the lovely videos..
I have always been curious as to the lives of shepherds in the mountains. Excellent video and interview. Thank you!
Wow! Huge respect! Brilliant work! ❤️
What a wonderful window into a dying way of life. I learned more about Gaddi shepherds here than I did while visiting their villages and trekking with them over the Dhauladhar years ago--it was the language problem. One thing I did learn then is what resourceful, brave, honest and dependable people the Gaddis were in those times.
They are still..
This nomad life style is even tough for them but they are doing their job happily and that job is thier hole happiness in life!
Awesome as always. Keep on the good work. Shared with friends and colleagues.
As usual.. excellent and touchy !! Pure natural and solid
Awesome video sir ji shandar

Sir just started watching your videos and now being addicted to it ❤️
Saravana, you are the hardest working and one of the most talented UA-camrs from India. It seems that you have taken proper training into making these incredible videos. These will be true treasure for future generations of Indians
I'm wondering why some are disliking this gem, for what reason 🤔
Fabulous great bhai no words ♥️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Man that's a really cool documentary ! So interesting and a wonder to see through your eyes and your film 🙏👏 Thank you .
I just watched it again and noticed different things and felt more like tho their lives are very different than mine we are still like distant brothers or kin , we are humanity 🤘🏼🙏⚡️ and we are the same !
When our dog won’t cross the log bridge over the creek we do that same thing and get the scared dog across 🙏
Wow shepherd presented the details well👌👌
Thank you. This was informative and enjoyable.
Kudos to these shepards and to you for making this beautiful video

Aap sab pahadi bhaiyo ko mera praman From Sahyadri mountain Maharashtra
Gives the phrase going to work, a whole new meaning. Wonderful location and great work. I hope that some people still choose to carry on with this work even though it looks like a tough way of life. It beats being stuck in traffic, pollution and behind a desk 9-5 ones whole life.
my thoughts too
questions were so apt....and answers were true !!
Happy to know all this ❤️
There is always something to learn from yours video.
This is the first time I saw salt given to sheep, although I did heard about it .
Very beautiful vedio .. i really really want to experience a shepherd life once in my life..
