I've seen most of these movies and I'll probably watch them again except for "Bone Tomahawk". When they split that one guy up the middle while he was still alive was a little bit too much for me. 🤑
Some friends saw _Bone Tomahawk_ and said it was the most gruesome movie they'd ever seen. I know a little of what is in it, and I had to agree, so I think I'll pass. Saw _The Hateful Eight,_ and liked it overall, but had some problems with Tarantino's setup for the whole situation. Anyway, thanks for this list! Might have to check out some of these.
The only movie on this list that I wished I hadn't seen was "Bone Tomahawk." It is way beyond gruesome and horrible, There's no need of that kind of sanguinary this movie is overloaded with. Went to bed that night with the local country music station playing so I wouldn't think about it as I drifted off to sleep. Using the word gruesome to describe this movie is like saying the Grand Canyon is just another hole in the ground. Want to see Ravenous though..
Death rider in the house of vampires 2021 the pale door origan trail dead again in tombstone 2021 Jesse's girls dark valley German western 2014 macho Callahan 1970 the road to hell outlaws and angels Sweetwater and gallowalkers is also over the top movies I've seen all your movies on the list thank you great choice
It is hard to be empathetic to the characters if they're all assholes. Usually a requirement of an enjoyable storyline. Shallow plot lines without a good story behind them usually doesn't work either. It's a BIG problem in today's movies.
I'm not a fan of horror or gore, so I don't watch many modern movies. They substitute shock for story, which bores me. That said, I'm a big fan of my home town boy Tim Blake Nelson, and give Old Henry a pass :)
I’m afraid every Western now has to be some version of Blood Meridian
And you'd think someone would actually make Blood Meridian by now!
Man, I really love your videos, thank you for including westerns like this…
Glad you like them!

When westerns go too far is when they lose their sense of humour. Everything has to be so damn realistic or natural these days.

Guy Pearce is definitely over represented.

The classic westerns tended to tone down the more extream stuff, spaghetti westerns were really the beginning of this. Audiences have changed as well.
I hate to say this but none of those movies are worth watching for me...
