Tag light replacement 2011 Nissan Quest.

I was unable to find a video to show how to replace a tag light on a 2011 Nissan Quest van. So I figured it out and posted this video, hopefully, to help someone else along the way not break a tab on the silver trim on the rear hatch.

I wanted to add this comment for future viewers. I looked at owners manual. No help. Service manual: Found a section on interior lights but not exterior. I dont know what the heck was up with that but I was getting very frustrated. After watching this video it was clear what to do but my panel just would not come down. Finally I gave up and pulled very hard. It came off in a literal explosion sound when all of the pins released at once. I probably broke 5 of them. But then I looked and saw where the pins are aren't circles on the panel but u shaped. Its almost like to me you pry it back and then move the whole panel to the side to release it from all the pins at once, not just pry the heck out of it until the pins break or they rip out of the body. The pins will come out but dont seem to me like they should have. There was just no way to get a pry tool to some of those pins so I think I'm right. looking at my panel it looks like I should have pried it from (this is hard to describe) the top left and right, looking at it as if you were sitting inside the trunk with it closed. Then hit it with a rubber mallet to one side to not pull the pins out, but slide the large panel to the side, with the pins remaining in the body. Looks like on your panel all the white pins came off with the panel. Most of mine stayed in the body.

I put my strength and weight to get the panel off. Only 3 grommets were damaged and one couldn't get put back on to snap it back in place. Thanks for your video!

Glad is helped. Parts stores sell those little plastic grommets for a few cents each if you need to replace them.
