@@sandib4234 Absolutely. Besides, from the looks of it, all they did was bring their junk to that spot like they would at another homeless camp; pissing on private property, dumping trash in someone else's dumpster, yet talking about how they don't like being at the shelters. What kind of shit is that???

Subsidize something and you will get more of it. This is also a problem at Fifth and Olentangy, and there are probably close to 500 (!) people camped between South High Street and the Scioto River from 104 to 270.
You can't keep importing half the Third World into Columbus for votes and then act surprised when the housing market prices out the working class.

I have lived here since 2008! I was able to keep up with affordable rent of $400/Month on 35 years of low wages forced on us by greedy employers! It is now 2023! I cannot afford to be independent anymore since base low cost housing is now over $1,300/Month yet wages have not gone up. You either are lucky to have family take you in, living in your car (severe loneliness and misery), or homeless! Housing wait lists are over 8 years+ long! Shelters full of people with shattered will power! External beauty of a city is NOT a realistic perspective of how dire and cost ridden our city is! Crime is up everywhere! Education is 12 years behind to keep up with technological changes most people cannot afford.

You know with all the land especially in OH where I am from and also everywhere else why doesn't anyone let them stay on a plot in the woods teach them survival skills, hunting, foraging, gardening, fishing,.Make a self sufficient wilderness commune with a number one rule of no drugs.Oh I know all the stupid man made laws that you need a license for this or that and that is what holds back much progress or the ability to help others or even themselves. You have to have this or that ID,social security card, etc, money money money. You expect these people just to get up and say yes I am going to go to a money tree and get what I need to start over?.Teach them some life skills and teach them how to become self sufficient living off the land.
Being a drug addict and throwing one into some job is nothing but pressure and stress and possibly a cause for relapse. In the wilderness one can learn peace while learning to survive in it you don't have much time to think about your next fix. If you do relapse a deer is not going to give you a needle or a crack pipe. The first thing I would teach them even before teaching these skills is a specific type of meditation to shut down certain thoughts then move on from their.I lived on the street many years ago,I have also been incarcerated 17 years ago and I can tell you just with those two things good luck ever getting a decent paying job even 17 years later.
In society we are told we are always making progress but actually we are in a state of de-evolution.The Native Americans had it right but look what we did to them.We put them on reservations and destroyed the ability for them to live the life that harmed no one.All in the name of progress and the new found god called money that everyone puts before anything or anyone else.I was also an addict as well and I was capable of quitting everything cold turkey and still till this day 7 years later I am clean with no relapses.Their are plenty of people such as myself that can teach these people how to overcome things but the laws and the system makes it so that we barely can say a word edgewise.Oh and this is coming from a person who has had nothing but bad experiences with people in general most of his life and still I say the things that I do and would surely help someone if they wanted it. Once again their is plenty of land and wilderness across the U.S. we are not overcrowded like we are told just in the cities and thats exactly what they want.Take a drive, take the blinders off and look around outside of a city and tell me different.

The CHURCHES we're commanded to help the poor, not the Government. It is the Churches place to help them. There is over 380,000 churches in America. Over 1500 mega Churches which make over a million every week. Over 600,000 homeless across America. The FATHER said to help the poor. The LORD said help the poor. The LORD JESUS said nothing about tithing but yet they lie and cause people to tithe. Take that money and get homes for these people. And stop complaining about what they are neglecting. Homelessness is not as big problem in conservative cities, but there is an explanation for it. The main reason for homelessness is fentanyl, and other drugs addiction believe it or not. If you do not believe me, you can find Michael Shellenberger's interviews here on UA-cam. Liberal cities have laws that attract homeless because addicts can support their addiction there more easily. The main one is you are allowed to steal from stores for up to $950 in Cali, and no one will bother you, police will not even come even if they had an officer available. In my town the law says you can steal up to $500 worth of items, and that nothing, so there are no as many homeless like in Cali but we have almost as good camping weather as southern Cali. I go to Texas, and they do not have such law that you can just steal from stores as you wish, so their addicts migrates to the west coast where they can simply support their addiction. Stealing from stores, they call it boosting.
