I think you got good advice. The open necklines really suits you. And in general for everyone, if you wear a loose bottom half...wear a fitted top half and visa versa. Love the elongated styling too...

To me it sounds like your color palette roughly translates to deep autumn, which is what I am and I am similarly a fair olive with dark brown hair. It’s a tricky one for most people and they think you can’t be both warm leaning and deep, but it’s true! I also favor burgundies and find that deep/muted is more important to me than warm vs cool, which I think explains why we can wear some cooler colors despite technically being autumn. A real crossover.
It will be interesting to see how you take this advice going forward and as you build your wardrobe with this in mind. You already have a fun sense of style and this tweaking could help harmonize just that bit more. ❤

So glad you enjoyed your analysis! Getting a professional colour analysis has been the best thing for me as a sewist who buys most fabric online! It's great to know a colour will look good on me without having to try it on.

Yes! I am so glad you saw Merriam. I think she is the best. I have not had an analysis from her, but I love her videos and they helped me learn what I needed to realize what my lines and colors are. Her system is actually logical and inclusive (unlike the seasonal), and she is a very good teacher.
At one point, I thought you might be a Natural, aka Beveled type in Merriam’s system, since you tend to gravitate towards more relaxed lines in your clothing and especially hairstyles, and based on what you read it sounds like maybe I was right.
I knew you were olive, and thought you were a cool olive, because I remember you saying in a previous video that you don’t like the way orange looks on you (and I’ve rarely seen you wear yellow). But, I can see how the warm & delicate makes sense if you are very close to neutral; that would explain why yellow and orange don’t look native to you, while more subtle warm colors do.

Before watching: Flamboyant Natural, Dark Winter! Long vertical line with natural essence (would probably explain your love for the Arwen/Éowyn aesthetic!) and Dark, Cool-neutral colours. 🥰
After watching: I've been doing colour-analysis for about a decade and her report has so many contradictions. Your can't be warm and delicate and at the same time have a dark overall value. You can't be told to wear soft warm muted colours and at the same time be suggested light cool bright pastells. I don't think this was a good colour-analysis. I do agree mostly with her style analysis though and I hope you found it helpful. 😇
You have such beautiful winter colouring and I believe you would get a more helpful, conclusive report just looking up Dark winter or any of the winters for that matter on for example "the concept wardrobe" online or other websites.
Edit: Elemental colour is another good website for info in my opinion, and I love the TCI (True colour international) palettes/fans. They are great quality and very accurate. Also, you can't be a soft natural if you have a long vertical line according to Kibbe. But you can be a flamboyant natural and have a more yin essence possibly.
    All the best~ 🌸✨

Dark Autumn could also be a possibility when she is supposed to be warm. If cool toned Dark Summer would be a possibility. But I am no expert.

And this is why I have stayed away from Kibbe. Lol. The fact they ask her what her favorite outfits and style is before giving her a body type says it definitely uses personality elements to come to the conclusions. I've tried looking at it, but being tall knocks me out of any sort of feminine look, which, as a short waisted hourglass I think can definitely work.... maybe just not in a petit size. I'm looking for help with my style because I don't like what I've come up with, not so I can be told to wear what I've been wearing, ya know?

imo the best you've ever looked was when you filmed the mummy(evie inspired video). Just wow. Wow of Sabrina Carpenter level... I think you have so much of Romantic in your face. The thinner brows in that video, the loose curls. It all worked on you so well. I do agree with elongation in your body, definitely, but face is much more Romantic than Natural let's say. I would avoid heavy fabrics on you (noticed that when you tried on outfits). Loose but not messy and delicate! would work for you the best.

    Hi!
What I found with Kibbe is that you'll spend the first couple of years thinking that you could be every possible type under the sun - and then you learn what your shape is, without a title - for example: Narrow, soft, long vertical line.
There are a lot of frustrations and contradictions with Kibbe but it helps that you have been professionally typed.
To anyone that this might help -
It's best to just have fun and keep an open mind and bear in mind your essence and unique features that might make you different from another person, with the same type.
This is coming from someone who let Kibbe take over their life, at one point. 😭
    💕

Definitely look into Ellie-Jean's Body Matrix system. It only uses the descriptive terms and it creates 56 body types.
The way it works is you can be narrow/medium/wide, long/medium/short and round/medium/straight. With that, your body is described in three neutral words. Also, try to avoid going for medium right away

@6pmmm Thank you for the suggestion! 😊
I was subscribed to Ellie-Jean, Aly, Merriam, Gabrielle etc. but I recently unsubscribed to all of them.
I was fatigued but constantly waiting for new content, despite already deciding that I wasn't going to force myself into an ID.
However, I do recognise that Ellie's perspective has developed, which has allowed her to fine tune her own system.
I think they all would had revelations!

@daniirvine317 I get where you're coming from. You don't even need to subscribe, as she's putting out less long form content nowadays. But her shorts show some real people sometimes, which is helpful

The hairstyle and open neckline really suit you! For the pink dress outfit, I hear your point about tying in the shoes but I still think you would benefit from removing the belt - without it, the look felt more flowy, elongated, and IMO just more harmonious with your features. Once you added the belt, I think the look became more stiff / forced on you. If you did want to add some waist definition to the dress (although I think it looks great as is!), you could go for a belt that matches the dress so doesn't break up the long line as much?

That's kinda Kibbe's system's goal, to bring out your own star quality. Sometimes we like how certain clothes and color look on someone and try to recreate that look by buying the same clothing items, because we think we like the individual pieces and the colors itself. However, most of the time, we like how harmonious and cohesive the clothes look on that person. Knowing this saves money, time and tears 😅 (though the kibbe rabbit hole might still bring you tears)

I feel you on the Kibbi body type, I read through all the rules and couldn't figure it out heads or tails. In a way, I have been lucky with my colouring - my base question is 'will it clash with my hair?' (ginger), and then I can go from there. Plus, since gingers tend to be similarly pale, there's a lot of applicable colour guides out there that I can use

In terms of colour analysis, from what I see from the camera, and the colour analysis system I follow and was analysed with (4 major seasons and 4 subcategories each, so 16 overall), you have very similar colours to mine and might be the exact same "season" as I am, which is deep soft winter leaning towards deep autumn. (Or, could be the opposite, like deep autumn leaning deep soft winter as they are so so similar) Means that I am neutral leaning slightly cool (but less cool than someone who isn't leaning towards deep autumn) - will look better with very neutral colours that are deep (meaning I look better with dark colours than light ones) but also muted, with added grey in them, so not very bright. Deep burgundy, deep grey, deep forest green, ultramarine blue, deep not bright neutral red/brown. When making outfits you don't want too much contrast, but some is needed if you're using light colours, like say a light blue shirt with a deeper blue blazer on top to get that depth. Muted pinks/red/berries for lips, deep but again not bright, not too warm but not too cool/grey either. Hope I made sense!

I still remember your Kibbe video and the color analysis you did. To be honest I think you did well with those. In my opinion, you look great as Natural and suit winter color pallete. In the natural spectrum, you look great with "natural materials" ( like the linen dress) and flowy silhuettes, vertical lines. So the outfits were not bad, but doesn't seem different from what you wear in general, so thats good. And even tho you look ok in that dusty pink, i think deep and darker colors look better. Also, i didn't think your skin has warm undertone. You suit that cool red lipstick and in general, cooler make up. And if i remember corectly you said orange looks bad on you so her terracota color recomandation is not that on point.

I'm not an expert, but I've watched you from the beginning hair videos. I honestly thought you looked the best when you started dressing slightly vintage. Comfortable and relaxed vintage, never costume looking. Personally, I follow Dita Von Teese casual style tip. A swipe of red lipstick, sunglasses, and either bold earrings or a bold necklace, and you will always look like you tried and are put together. I think the blouse undone that much looks sloppy. I love the romantic hairstyle, though! I was lucky to have my color season done when I was a kid in the 80's. I'm a cool who looks good in jewel tones, bright fuschia, purples, bright cool colors. It's also fairly easy to tell with makeup. Take some photos of yourself wearing different lipstick shades. What makes your face pop and what looks sallow. I can't wear orange reds or yellowish nudes, everything has to be cool toned. Blushes too. Coral, peachy or bronzy blushes or blue pinks, true pinks, and mauves. I think you are beautiful regardless of a glow up. I really think the vintage-y style just looks natural on you.

I think your stylist got it pretty accurate, but there are 2 things I would like to mention that were not mentioned:
    1. I think you would look better with fabrics that are a little more medium thickness but still soft in texture, such as the cableknit sweater you are wearing in the video. If you are wearing a flimsy blouse such as the one in the 1st outfit I think it is better to have more shape to it (that comes from better tailoring, darts, ruffles, collars can do that -they can be opened if they have a collar); in that particular outfit a plaid vest or a crocheted vest (or any sort of vest but with some texture) or a cashmere like cardigan would've made a difference. Or maybe a thicker belt. My issue is with the shapeless blouse. I would've put a pussy bow blouse in that outfit, if nothing else.
    2. Also I do think you need a little bit of shape and tailoring, but in a softer style, think Ralph Lauren relaxed tailoring. My fav outfit was the 3rd because the pants are pretty tailored and the jumper has nice shape to it and that almost medium thickness with softer texture. I would've preferred a little more tailoring in the pants, maybe palazzo pants with pleats that hug the waist and flare at the hip.. like those worn in the 40s by Katherine Hepburn would've looked amazing. And I also see you with classic British plaid blazers.
    3. I think layering looks amazing on you (speaking from previous videos as well). Sharp, tailored pieces layered with softer, relaxed items would look great. Like that 2nd outfit.. I feel the dress was more tailored, and I can see a long, open cardigan made of cableknit fabric going amazing with that dress. Dark academia would be a nice aesthetic to see you in btw.
All in all I liked the recommendations😊

Just to let everyone know here - if you’ve ever wanted to get David Kibbe‘s book but couldn’t because it wasn’t available or you just didn’t want to spend 400€ on it 😄, he has just published a new version of it and it’s available on Amazon for just around 30€!

I tried and tried to understand the kibbe system and couldn’t make heads or tails of it. ESP. Bc the celebrities they used as examples all looked the same to me. And what does “blunt” and “narrow” mean? And he never mentions women’s bodies from a side view, only front, and my most “prominent” feature is my butt… butts are never mentioned so I didn’t know what to think… I gave up, honestly.
