This is where our constitution failed... to imprint itself in the hearts of Indians. When the constitution talks about punishment, it is meant to be a deterrent, not a solution for the infraction. Now, common people don't see any societal reform because similar crimes are being committed left and right day and night years after years. The only thing left is to seek vengeance.
In Greeshma's case, she has made much planning to commit the crime. She has searched the net to see how she can murder the guy without leaving any trail, all the while pretending to be in love with him, even doing sex with him. The guy died a terrible death. Next, she is least regretful of her act when caught, in fact she was happily guiding the cops to explain how she has done it. It's reported she said if at all she gets life imprisonment, she will still be free by the time she is 38.
Even if you are saying she is a psychopath, she is not a serial killer who just kills because it is fun. He must have blackmailed There has to be a reason to go to such extent. Involvement of her family proves more strongly that blackmail was done. Otherwise, she could have just called the police on him if he wouldn't let go. She was immoral in breaking up with him, and we all have been immoral small or big ways, but here things just got complicated.
@@ghooming21 You say, "He must have blackmailed" which means you don't know anything about the Greeshma case. Even when he was dying, he refused to say anything against her - though he knew she poisoned him - when the judge took his dying declaration. You also say "there has to be a reason to go to such extent". Of course, there was a reason. Her parents got her marriage fixed with a well settled army man and she wanted to marry him, so she needed to get rid of the guy who was still in the college! Having said that, I am not advocating for her death sentence, but only placing the judge's assertions in the verdict.
@@kurienvarghese5599 my point is just common sense. Yes, I got to know about this in this video only and then read it up on perplexity. But why murder when you can just break up?
