  • My early September go pro of Hawley's Old town commons and the foundations there. I also walk along the old country road trail with hints of Autumn in the air as the leaves begin to slowly change for the season. The foundations were built in the 1700 and 1800s
    60 to 80 percent of new England was deforested in the 1800s as compared to 20 percent today I believe so you will see lots of stonewalls and foundations in the woods were there used to be farms and other communities that were reclaimed by nature. A lot of the people in New England that lived in these places moved out west
