Nickel Creek - Hollywood Ending (Official Audio) From the new album Celebrants, out now: orcd.co/celebrants #nickelcreek #newmusic #americana #bluegrass #folk
I used to work with these guys's cousin quite a few years back. I remember when he told me they were performing on some awards show an I said you mean Nickel Back and Steve got really offended. "No Nickel Creek".
I remember sharing your music with my last English teacher, he was my favorite teacher, probably ever. I should track him down and see if he knows you are touring again!
ME, the Fan : 2023 finds a beautifully written song that praises our Fathers....try to find another.....kudos ME, Just ME : Serious question......Answer - Angels on the rooftop....look for us
Gorgeous and dramatic - could have seen each portion explored even further. You kids aren't playing around, you're, pretty much, taking swipes at... well, hell, anyone that ever picked up a guitar or blurbled a note. Musical N.A.S.A.. Sara, the vocal could have been longer by five minutes - was fun. Sean, you are the... have no idea what you are. Now, that being said, when are you guys going to get back to pretty again and not be the bluegrass equivalent of "The Clash"? Yeah... Yo-Yo fucked you up harder than you might have realized... you guys are doing weird 50's avante guarde jazz - all the greats went through it. Brubeck made it art. Ah, you don't do Near enough Peter, Paul and Mary - some are priceless. "Hurry Sundown". That song taught me music. But, a fourteen year old, I was thirteen, redhead with a banjo in a mall made music sexy. Played "Aime", floored me, whole band, pure bluegrass, all her. Never saw 'em again. Roy Clark. Dangerous man, makes people try to do weird shit. Like enjoy going fast. And, enjoy going faster... and, then doing weird shit... probably not enough Atkins. With the right producer, that might have been interesting. Listen to Phil Collins, "The Roof is Leaking", The Secret Policeman's Other Ball. And, then the other Collins and the two Sting. Both in their metamorphosis. The song... yeah, ok. Tossing the angels up to the corners then coming down thick, certainly a shift. Still like that bit with Sara best. Bass was perfect. Oh, yeah, Roy Clark ran with scizzors... when he wanted. Did some Nice stuff on Hee-Haw. Not enough, uh, Buck Owens, not Near enough, come to think of it... Oh, Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys... Bing Crosby, hold on, "Dear Hearts and Gentle People" and, not done yet, "Ac-Chen-Tu-Ate the Positive (with The Andrews Sisters)". "Gaudete", Steeleye. I know, am being a dick. The best? "Arlington". The one that broke it? "Reasons Why". Changed bluegrass forever. After Krauss took a chainsaw to every single one of Bluegrass' foundational pillars by hanging out with some very unsavory characters... and producing strange mutants all over the place... Gillian Welch, "Everything is Free". Devastating. For fun? Agnes Obel, "Familiar".
I've had the Lighthouse cd in my car disc changer for about 10 years. It's a staple in my family 🙏🏻💓
So gorgeous. This album is going to be a "desert island disc" for me, but this track is particularly lush and gorgeous.
Just learned about Nickel Creek today on NPR interview accompanied by their magnificent vocals and awesome instruments playing prowess❤
Lucky!!

This is maybe the first album I've ever heard that I like more than Punch Brothers, and of COURSE it's still by Chris
