Are you guys able to vibrate your eyes? I too have nystagmus, and was able to vibrate my eyes since I was born with no side effects(headaches). It hasn't effected me in anyway. Im 23 now, and I can vibrate them easily having full control. My question is, should this be something I should worry about when it comes to my personal health?
I really hope this wil be curable soon in the future, the visual and social disadvantages of having this is too much for me sometimes it gets me really depressed and suicidal
Wattsy hey man. I have nystagmus as well. I’m 14 years old now and I accepted it. Don’t feel depressed about it. Just try to accept it and maybe in the future it can be cured. :) stay strong buddy! (Sorry for my bad English)
Good luck I fear most of us will live and die and never be cured the odds of nystagmus being cured is about as minimum as curing cancer hell nystagmus is never ever even talked about in everyday media no one gives a shit about uz
Hey I have also nystagmus.i accept it and we have thanks to God bcoz good gives us eye for see the world think about them who have fully blind..be positive
I've got the same, it's simply called voluntary nystagmus. But I don't know why we are even able to move our eyes so quickly. I asked my ophthalmologist about it and she said it's very rare that you can do that and that it is just something special like those people who can wiggle with their ears. But more she didn't know.
fixed my nystagmus when i took special glasses from a wendys kids meal and modified it with grey duct tape. Because there was no glare and the lens was thick and small it kept my eyes focused and since the lenses were mostly covered by duct tape except for the circles in the middle it let my eyes rest. When i had no glasses my eyes would keep moving but with the tape my left eye took over. The lenses protected me from some light but could have done better but my eyes became better and when i took then off i could focus and see people again. It used to be so bad i used to think i would have a seizure. But there not waterproof i can show how i made em im putting this all over so people can see it
@@Peterpiper817 you just got to keep the eyes straight, my last post was 1 year ago, as of now I made a pair out of a cereal box, I kid you not, it somewhat worked, but the one pair I last used was perfect. My tip is know if your near-sighted or far-sighted, the size and shape of your eyes. It also depends on the shape of the nose. If you can pull the trick off, you may not need devices to keep your eyes okay. I'm no doctor, but have studied my own eyes for may years. However let me update on another thing: Nystagmus, should be considered fully natural. It's not a defect or a sickness. It's just the fact that your eyes aren't always supposed to be straight. So please reconsider the risk of implants. Nystagmus is a part of the body. Without it, I believe REM sleep would stop. and most honesty, it would just be a mess. One of the most random things I came across, is a brain and eye stimulation, that stuns the nystagmus: Just this simple: Pull out a notebook, and jot some notes down of a random topic, whatever helps to get the cerebellum working will most likely trigger your eyes to slowly stop. My theory is the body is confused and needs signals to turn the cerebellum off, disabling nystagmus. Any thoughts?
@@Peterpiper817 Why, thank you! I mean, I guess you can say that, considering I do have Nystagmus myself, and I do research my own condition. My eye doctor didn't know what to do with my condition, so I got sick of what he had to say. Thus here I am. I am only 20. I'm not even old enough for the job.

Got people to pick me up from school and to go around. But upon pursuing my degree in electrical engineering, i couldn't even solder properly. Funny. Why do i even chose this path. Couldn't get a license either. Heck i can't even work as burger flipper just cause i had to run up to the screen to see the goddam order. Yet how could i put myself so low when blind people had it worst. Why do i have to be stuck in between?? I know i'm being selfish but sometimes i just can't help but think why. What is your opinion on CBD oil? Since nystagmus is a neurological condition . CBD oil is a substance that calms the nerves by a lot. I also have nystagmus and am always trying to find new ways to slow my eye movement down or stop the movement all together
My prob is not the oscillating of eyes but the awkward compensatory positioning of the head or t null point which i think makes me cut out a very funny posture because I v seen people suddenly burst into suppressed laughter that’s when I lose of confidence n focus on the conversation or the job at hand and curse the day i was born..... it’s really a debilitating ailment
It might be related to R.E.M. Sleep it turns on when im sleepy when i have dreams it goes off after i wake up and when i put dark shirt on my eyes. It relates to the back of your head and the long optic nerves connected to it. The cerrebellum controls nystagmus i think. Nystagmus causes flashes of light so i replicated that and it got worse but darkness makes it stop. i put a shirt on my eyes that is black and then i take it off and my R.E.M. sleep shuts off. You can actually feel it in the back of your head. It might also help epilepsy too but im not sure
