Yes, but nobody wants to hear that song. And sitting on a cheesy "diamond" chair is corny as hell. Christina should be where Beyonce, Taylor, and Adele are...not in some Vegas lounge regurgitating the same playlist she's had for 20 years. Her fans are in denial and full of excuses. Even Pink has stayed relevant and fresh. Christina is musically irrelevant and it's a shame.
Wow. This is amazing. This is the best she's sounded in a long time. And I love the fact that she really put a lot of time and effort in creating this whole residency. You can tell by costumes, the setlist, the remixes, everything is so fresh. And her vocals! She hasn't really sang like this since B2B era.
I disagree. Christina has gotten lost in the shuffle and her career is nowhere near where it should be given her talent. I think the show looks cheesy and dated.

@@wesleyimschoot7597 That is an epic excuse. Only a fool would believe that Christina Aguilera, with her ego, wouldn't kill to be in Beyonce's or Taylor's shoes right now. The only reason her fans pretend to be content with where she is right now in her career, which is pretty much musically and commercially irrelevant, is because they have no choice. She can't sell out major venues (hasn't been able to in decades) and has to regurgitate her dated hits in a cheap Vegas lounge act to pay bills. She needs to hand her career over to someone else because she has taken it straight to the toilet.
I just live for her clean and controlled vocals. This is where she need to go forward with. With constant work with her vocal coach and she will be back on top with ease. She just need to leave the shouts, grasp, grunting and unstable notes behind now. Time to get serious. Very proud of her here.

The head voice on nmt is incredible, I'm stunned. Hee vocals during this show were absolutely phenomenal, she has clearly put a lot of effort into this show.

She’s so confusing lol. She goes from sounding vocally exhausted to doing some of the best belts in her career. This is the most confident we’ve seen her in awhile though. You can tell she’s excited about the setlist change and probably feeling herself after her weight loss. It also sounds like she’s going for a more Broadway sound, which is actually making her belts much more open and stable. It’s making her pitch & vibrato better as well. Hopefully she keeps with this change!

@@goliaboi It actually does. It proves to be a wonder drug in many ways. The loss of fat off her internal organs and neck - help her to sing better. She's been working out too - motivated. Lots of heavy women sing beautifully. But Xtina's weight was never healthy and she had problems with food AND booze. Ozempic is helping people with all kinds of addictions, from cigarettes, food AND alcohol. She has her vitality back physically so she is not so forced in her singing or static in her movements.
That said, the constant sexpot and corsets and hooker boots and OLD popstar presentation is not doing it for me. It is dated. She's a very good singer but comes across more like Ann-Margret or Shania Twain. Christina can't help herself and it seems this is what her fans want. I don't believe that Aguilera has delivered a vulnerable performance in over 20 years. She can fake it with her voice on a few ballads - but she's just kind of a harsh chick. I love the Bionic album and I believe she has done some excellent work in her career. But what she chooses to highlight is I"M STILL HOT!!

She seems more relaxed and confident here. Thats why she sounds so good. Sometimes she seems to be all over the place trying to be too provocative and looking a mess. It affects her performance in a bad way. Sometimes I wonder whats going on with her because the girl CAN still blow. But here you can see and hear the difference when she calms down and is just confident in herself. Relying on her vocals and not trying to be controversial. And she looks amazing, too. Good for her. Shes proving shes still one of the BEST vocalists ever.

She is a way different. Much thinner, the voice is lighter and it sounds with a higher placement. Since 2017 she's in a new prime, and now, she looks even better.

Please, don’t misunderstand this, but I consider that xtina sounds so much better when she is in a good weight. Her breathing is better, so her vocal technique is so much better too
Usually singers get better when they gain weight (think Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Aretha Franklin) because it helps them develop a deeper tone. But for Christina she seems to sound better when she’s skinnier. Probably tied back to the whole “small girl big voice”

I don't think it has anything to do with protecting her voice. It's just the theme of the show. It's supposed to be "classy burlesque" so she's just keeping the vocals mostly clean. I bet you anything that she'll be back to singing her normal way in any non-Voltaire show she does
One of those singers who can sell millions on voice alone-she takes care of hers-and she also puts together a whole show with props and performers, a truly talented full entertainer.

Christina has trying to avoid her entire career vocal techniques that could allow her to sing higher.
There's a masterclass video of her talking about mix voice and she openly stated that she doesn't like that.
So yeah, her singing is now "within her vocal range" because it's what her IMPROPER vocal technique allows her to do in a safe way, not because her voice couldn't do more. Her vocal fatch is (or was) higher. That's what I was implying in the first comment.
You can even hear in this video how she was hitting clean and clear B4/Bb4 and she instantly adds raspiness, tension and throatiness.
She chooses style over healthy approach, even if that means that her vocal range is limited.
@@jorgeescudero5034 Christina tried to blend Etta James (tone) , Mariah Carey (falsetto and whistle) and Whitney Houston (power belting) using her low soprano voice.
The vocal apparatus doesn't work like a switch, it works by something called "muscle memory".
She can explain it away all she wants, but all she had going on in terms of head voice in the beginning of her career was a detached falsetto (hence her going into the 7th octave by pushing it), and she couldn't hold a C5 with healthy vibrato (way below the secondo passaggio). This indicates a huge gap and disparity in approach between your thyroarythenoid-dominant register ("chest") and your chricothyroid-dominant one ("head"). Singing like this over and over further strengthens that vice.
Opera singers spend their entire careers trying not to let one coordination run over the other, and generally the thyroarythenoid one is dominant by default. She couldn't "switch on" a connected middle voice amidst all the pushing and abuse she did to her separate registers, the human voice doesn't work like that.
Pardon me, but she says that to save face because when compared to even basic pop singers, she used to struggle with elemental singing and still went on to do a masterclass. That's okay, she's evolved and the artist who doesn't evolve gets limited. I was pleasantly surprised at this video, there's no need to try to retroactively explain why she didn't sing like this all the time. She didn't have any restraint when she was younger and all her failed attempts at holding the studio E5 in Candyman on the basis of "let's hope it goes well this time" (and it never did) is textbook "singing out of one's range".

Christina always wanted to sing like that, the very few mix voice she attempted, made her sound with a very light nasal tone that was far away from the "powerful" tone that Whitney and Etha James had (and she tried to mimmic).
So it makes sense that she never trained her mix voice and over time her bad habits just became her default singing voice, that's why she has avoided passing above eb5, because that's the note she is able to hit with the unpropper vocal habit she has now.
If she wants to hit her highest vocals, she needs to train her voice to do it and that means to get rid off of all the work she has make to sound like she currently does.
Her vocal range has never been limited, it's actually the opposite, after 20 years of bad singing, voice changing with age and pregnancy, she is still belting clear eb5 here and there, that's kinda impressive.
Her vocal range is not limited, her vocal technique it's what has always limited her.
For example, a no great vocalist like Taylor Swift struggles with chest belting a C5/D5, but switches to a mixed voice to sustain a E5 in "Don't blame me" because she knows that that is what she needs to do.
Christina never did that and never will even if her singing career depends on it, because she just doesn't want to. She just rather avoid the notes she can't sing with the style she likes.
