Brilliant video! Love the message! I’m going to leave a quote here that’s a favorite of mine. This is something I remind myself of when I start to feel that “why do the evil manatees who run UA-cam dislike me so much?” feeling. It’s from Carl Jung: “No matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown friends will come and seek you.” If that’s too verbose you can always stick with, “If you build it, they will come.” (Personally I like to add, “...or maybe they won’t who cares.” at the end of that one.)

You are the ONLY makeup artist I have ever subscribed to. And I subscribed several years ago after your Valak tutorial. The reason for that is not because I’m not interested in makeup or the art behind it, but I am 100% not about the drama and immaturity that other artists want to bring to UA-cam. You are only about the makeup and the process behind it. I have learned and gleaned a lot from you. I appreciate that so much...and of course that your skill and dry humor are unparalleled!

I'm excited to see you back here on YT! I've missed your videos so much - you are one of the most talented artists here on the platform. Not getting the same kind of views/attention as drama when you put so much work and effort into videos and makeup can be really demoralizing. I say that as someone who does YT too. I have a teeny tiny following, but it's the community itself that keeps me here. It definitely helps keep me focused on the friendships and creativity side instead of chasing an algorithm. YT has changed so much with their partner program and I think that they only promote content they know will make them more money in ad revenue, which is so sad. It just means that everyone has to conform to this recipe of "how to be a successful UA-camr" - it's not about creating anymore. Just content farming. :-( Anyway, I welcome you back and cannot wait to see more of your videos!!
Having a quiet AC in my studio is one of the best things ever! (Esp in SFX makeup😊.) I just got a new one I'm going to review once my channel starts back up again (I passed my other quiet one I reviewed to another room.) I took a completely unplanned break from here last December, but have been filming and am excited to return and add some new stuff to my channel in addition to makeup (some of my other art and some other fun stuff.) Btw...cornstarch baby powder is fine in a pinch...just the talc baby powder is harmful (benefit of being both a scientist and artist 🎨😊) I've never gotten into the beauty community BS (or other YTube drama) either. 😊
It does make me sad that UA-cam's algorithm has dropped a lot of great UA-camrs off the notification bar.some artists I just follow on insta because I have noticed their posting on UA-cam has just gone down as their viewership has tanked. It makes me sad. I've especially seen this for UA-camrs who are bakers because BuzzFeed can just repost the same compilation video over and over with different titles.

They took my monetization away too, it’s bullshit, it’s bullshit I’m just gonna continue to be myself and I’m so glad that I found this channel I’m going to subscribe because there needs to be more people like you on UA-cam you’re actually creative and artsy and talented as fuck pardon my French.
